Sometimes I wonder if the world did in fact end, and our fallen brothers and sisters who succumbed to addiction, and depression actually ascended because they had accomplished their purpose, and wouldn't be strong enough for whatever is coming next. My kids lost their father to fentenayl, and OD'd during the country wide lock down in 2020. As much as we loved him (we were already separated by then), I honestly don't think he would've been able to handle parenting at this day, and age. He was there for the good years, when they were still kids, and loved playing with toys, and had imagination. Now, raising kids in their teens in 2020 beyond has been the hardest. It would literally break his heart if he knew what kids are exposed to these days, and what they are doing online, and how they talk to others. The dangerous behaviours they engage in on Snapchat, Tiktok, Discord, Roblox, etc..etc.. Acting sometimes worse than the typical "20-something college party animal" Doing this job: raising kids to be empathetic, caring, responsible, members of society in this hellhole of a planet, is the hardest job in the world. Like, holy shit these kids, are going to be running the world in a few decades...are they going to survive? Who the fuck knows! The other thing is, you have to stay positive, no matter how bleek and depressing the future looks, that in itself is a tough job. Especially for those of us who quit addiction, and are trying so hard to live a healthy positive lifestyle in this negative, decaying, selfish world. Sometimes I wish I could be like Slipknot, and just wear a mask with a happy face on it 24/7, because honestly, I have no clue what the fuck I'm doing 99% percent of the time. I just literally keep on, keeping on with a side a positivity, and hope with all my heart that this all works out, and I'm doing something right. ❤ sorry. I love the song really I do, it makes me happy, and wanting to jam out...I just had to get this out there...when I hear about all of us left behind, you start to think a little about those who "left"...

We have a similar way of thinking. I'm a heroin addict, I'm back on methadone now because I relapsed, od'd, died and was revived 2 months ago. It wasn't even "accidental"? I'm just ready to go.
