That comment around the 8 minute mark about Dorset seeming like nowhere else in England is one I've heard so many times since I moved here. I live near the beach about 3 or 4 miles from the county border with Hampshire and just between here and there are numerous places worthy of a visit, the coastal border itself is a lovely little wooded ravine called Chewton Bunny, that has a little stream that runs down to a beautiful stretch of beach. I consider myself a very lucky man to be able to live in a place that I am totally besotted with.

Indeed, still to this day I haven't found anywhere else in England that looks anything like Dorset! We're hoping to head beck before this summer is over so we'll be sure to check out those places you mentioned!

Thank you, very beautiful! 🥰We are planning to go to Dorset from the end of Aug. We are wondering, if we stay for one week or two weeks.. car & book hotel etc., or a campervan.. hope it is not too cold for swimming.. 😄

Thanks for watching! There is so much to see and do in Dorset that you can definitely spend two weeks and not run out of things to do. We spent one week here when filming this video so everything you see here was done at a leisurely pace throughout one week. August is a great time to visit, the sea should be nice and warm (...or at least as warm as the sea around the UK can get) Enjoy your trip!

I'll be going here in a few weeks as part of my palaeobiology Masters program - can't wait! First time in England for me (don't be offended but....I've had so many other places higher on my list so I always fly over the UK en route to Estonia or other parts of Europe and I live in Sweden so....I just...never go there! Ireland was always higher on my list but I guess I'm going to see England first!) That said, THIS part of England and the Crystal Palace in London are two places I HAVE always really wanted to visit. Any recommendations while I'm there in terms of shops that might sell things a palaeontologist or geologist might like? I doubt I'll have any time in London as I think we're just landing there and driving down to Dorset but MAN I want to go to the museum in London!

Unfortunately I haven't taken notice of any shops like that, but I'm sure there are some, being on the Jurassic Coast! Dorset is one of our favourite places in the UK so I hope you have a great time. Enjoy!

That view of the castle - stunning! Do you know what trail/hill that was, by any chance? It's an incredible angle for photos.
@AlexTravels13 жыл бұрын
I just had a look and unfortunately the hills isn't named, it is the hill directly west of Corfe Castle though. If parking at the National Trust car park, follow the footpath toward the castle until you get to a bridge crossing the river, that bridge is right at the base at the hill we climbed!

If you are someone who likes to hike the hill on the other side of the castle will lead you to Old Harry’s Rocks. it’s about a 5 to 6 mile walk but on a nice sunny day it’s absolutely beautiful!
