She raves about my dressing and told me that she wanted me to show her how I made mine! I did and bless her heart, they even had Chicken And Dressing with the Gravy and Cranberry Sauce for Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas!! She passed away several years ago…she was like another Mother to me!! Thank you, I’m so proud that you shared this wonderful recipe and I really hope lots of people try this!! This is how I make my cornbread. You’re correct…. butter just makes everything gooder. I add lots of celery and onions to my dressing. I also add a couple of homemade biscuits and 2 cups of bread torn up. And I use boiled eggs in mine. This is a recipe from a very dear friend. Her momma gave it to me and they’ve both passed on. I make this every year. I add boiled chicken to it & I make 2-8x8 pans because my husband and oldest son likes oysters in theirs. 🤢I’m not eating that dressing. Yours looks so yummy and I’m definitely going to make mine ahead and freeze it this years. I’m getting new cabinets and countertops the 4th of November so my kitchen is a mess right now but I think I can put this dressing together. Bless you sweet lady. You just brighten my day. 🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻I use my Tupperware cake cover to mix stuff up in. It’s bigger than any bowl I have. You might try that if you have one. 😊

Congratulations on the new cabinets and countertops. What kind of countertops are you getting? I went with quartz. I agree with the Oyster. I wish I had a large Tupperware cake top. It's a Rada knife. I have a link for you if you are interested. Best knives you can buy. Last a lifetime and stay sharp longer. radakitchenstore.com/?rfsn=6926698.6c164b

Karen, I want to try this, but have you ever used turkey meat and broth instead of the chicken? I am curious if that would taste as good.
@KarenJonesFoodFamily2 жыл бұрын
I never have. I've always used chicken. I bet it would be good, different from the chicken, but good. 😊❤️😋

Happy Thanksgiving. You know If you had 20 people and each brought a pan of dressing each would be different. I'm from south Georgia...married a gal from central Alabama my mother's people are from central Georgia. Both my grandmothes where excellent cooks. Their dressings were both good but different so years ago I thought of combining both aspects of their dressings into one. It was a hit some 20 years later I'm the one that makes the dressing. Today we will have 40 people to feed as we all come together so it has been a week in the making. I use a hen for the broth. Cornbread aka egg bread biscuits saltine crackers white bread onions butter salt pepper we are not sage and celery fans so I don't put that in ours but I do add cream of chicken and celery soups.. make it up the night before let it marinate in the fridge. Then add 6 raw eggs which makes it extra fluffy. It's cooking now and smells wonderful.

giblets are not eggs lol they are the liver, heart, gizzard, and neck of a chicken or other fowl, usually removed before the bird is cooked, and often used to make gravy, stuffing, or soup.
@KarenJonesFoodFamily Жыл бұрын
Yea, I know that. I like to add eggs.

I notice that you put the hard boiled eggs in the gravy I have never seen that before but I have seen some put hard boiled eggs in the dressing when they bake it like this I did that recipe a cup below holiday is ago and I loved it but I wasn't sure on the reasoning of it

I do it because that's what my mama and granny did and I like it. I've never put eggs in the dressing though but I put them in chicken and dumplings 😋

The first 5 times I tried to make gravy, a total fail. Then it all clicked. Don’t be afraid to mess up, it’s all a learning process.
@KarenJonesFoodFamily2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Some of the best dishes come from mess ups. 😉😋❤️

I'm saving up my money to buy a Turkey this year. I heard they are going to cost 70% more. Dressing looks really good! I will try cornbread this year. So tired of the bread dressing.

I heard that as well. I mostly cook ham but my kids like turkey so I decided to cook one and it was amazing. That video will be out soon. 😋😉❤️
