I love cooking secrets like the one Grandma had. Trust them because they are the ones who make the recipes and tweak them until perfect. I will definitely do 435 when I make my cornbread in the near future. I'm obsessed with making home-made corn bread. I know how tood it tastes because the ones they serve at Boston Market were so memorable. I can understand why there are doubters in the world. It's because store-bought corn bread might ruin your impressing of real corn bread for life. But if you taste some really good corn bread, you will never forget it and you'll also crave it from time to time too, just like me. YOu inspired me today with your offhanded request for my Pork and Broccoli recipe. I started to think and decided, hey, maybe it is worth writing down. Everybody cooks uniquely their own way. Maybe someday one of my grandchildren will want my recipe and want to learn how I cooked for my boys while they were growing up. Even Honey said today, "your pork chop bones really are good. No wonder Ryan is always asking you to make him some" as my son watched him steal a pork bone, he says none too happy, "Mommy, Dadd just stole one of my pork chop bones". LOL. I told him, it's okay baby. I can always make more. That earned him a smile. Isn't it such a treat when your family is happy with your cooking? I get so much joy out of it that's why I have such a passion for good food and family.

Karen - I also love cornbread and milk (I am from South Carolina) - we put chopped tomatoes and onions, with salt and pepper in ours... That Chicken dressing looks sooo good. We spoon our dressing onto a greased bread pan and almost "fry" it - it gets real crispy on the bottom. You should keep a little out and try that some time. hugs

Hello, Karen! I’m new to your channel…and SO GLAD I FOUND IT!! This recipe sounds/looks delicious! Your dressing is very similar to my momma’s (who passed away unexpectedly 22 years ago) except she never put the chicken in the dressing…she always baked a Turkey for my siblings, and a ham for me and my dad! My dad was like yours…couldn’t get too much sage in it for him! I love sage as well, but not so much that it turns the dressing green! My dad liked his cornbread AND his dressing on the thinner side…I like dressing either way…thin or thick (as long as it isn’t gummy…that’s why my momma never put “bread” in hers, only cornbread! You and my momma seem to cook a lot alike!! She never measured anything and rarely used a recipe. I sure wish she…or I, would’ve taken the time to write down how she “made or prepared” some of the delicious things she cooked…especially what we considered her “specialties” and her wonderful baked goods!! I’d give anything for her blackberry cobbler recipe!! She made dumplings and dropped down in hers, then made a top crust to cover it! It was so JUICY AND DELICIOUS!! I’ve been binge watching your videos…and can’t wait to get “caught up”, and hope I never miss anymore!! I’m so glad I stumbled across your channel! I’m so excited…and can’t wait to try some of your recipes!! THANKS for taking the time to video and show us how YOU cook!! I’m enjoying everything about it!! 💗

I make dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I cook my cornbread ahead. I mix a large cast iron pan of cornbread crumbled up 15:31 and add a large package of Pepperidge Farm Herb dressing. Then i put in my chopped onion and celery, 2 eggs, a can of cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. I mix it up very well and pour it into my casserole dishes. It is about the consistency of cornbread mixed well. It is soooo delish!!!

Hi Karen! I just discovered your channel a few months ago! My grandmother was French Canadian and she had a recipe that all of my aunts and my mom, and we cousins make it's hamburger "stuffing" thank goodness my mom listened to her MIL, cos this recipe has been used since my mom married my dad in 1950. My grandmother would fry up a few lbs. of ground beef with celery and onion, and add broth made from the neck, heart and giblets. Then add the broth to about 4 to 5 loaves of white bread, and the ground beef. Along with a good amount of poultry seasoning (about 2 tblsps) and put it in the turkey along with some in a separate dish for overflow! My family LOVES this especially before I bake it! I have 7 kids, most of them moved out but come running back when they know i am making this stuffing! Sooo delicious! Love your show! I am from Michigan but I love Southern cooking! My aunt lived on the bayou for 60 years til she died a little while back. Her mom (my grandmother) is where this recipe came from!

I have to make two pans of dressing because my husband and son likes oysters in their dressing. The rest of us don’t. It’s perfectly fine that you use your hands. Most good cooks do. Do you ever watch Miss Donna at Beautiful Too Creations? She makes pound cakes. She always says don’t be in the kitchen with nasty hands cause that’s just nasty. I love it. Her and her husband are so funny. I love sage and poultry seasoning in mine too along with 1 cup crumbled up white bread and 2 homemade biscuits.
