What a nifty idea! We love corn bread and love dumplings so this is awesome. I can't wait to try it. I also make a similar variation that my family's crazy about. I like to make a homemade Sweet Corn Bread Stuffing/Dressing and serve it on top of chili, soups, etc... They love it. It's an awesome combination of SWEET (from the brown sugar & honey) and the SAVORY (from the herbs & seasonings like sea salt, sage, parsley, etc...) I can't wait to give your dumplings a try!

Would honey work with it? Because I don't cook with sugar.
@NoreensKitchenOfficial10 жыл бұрын
Sure, just sub it out for the sugar.

Noreen could you use these for the chicken dumpling recipe?

We are vegan and gluten free. Would this recipe work with oat milk (I’ll add vinegar to make buttermilk substitute) and with gluten free flour instead of regular flour?

Do you have to use buttermilk? Or can you use regular milk?
@NoreensKitchenOfficial8 жыл бұрын

I actually came up with a tamale soup tht I use masa for dumplings. So much easier then hrs of making tons of tamales. Taste just like a tamale :)
@NoreensKitchenOfficial10 жыл бұрын
If you like tamales, then I'll bet that is a really great way to replicate that flavor without all the TONS of work! I don't enjoy tamales. Even after living in Arizona for thirty years, it is one of the tastes I never acquired. Rick likes them but the rest of us, not so much.
@teresabradley150910 жыл бұрын
have you ever made indian tacos? Aka indian fry bread? Thts big there as well.
@NoreensKitchenOfficial10 жыл бұрын
Teresa bradley YES! We love Navajo tacos. I love fry bread. Never met anyone who didn't love a piece of fried dough. That is on my list to share as well. Got the recipe from my sister-in-law's mother, whom I watched make fry bread before they got married. Ms. Priscilla is a Navajo and she knows what she is doing. That is the only way to learn something. Right from the source!
