My favorite quote is from the original anime. Yugi gives Joey a time wizard to use and eventually both Yugi and Joey have to fight. So Joey uses the time wizard against Yugi but that actually helps Yugi because it "ages dark magician 1000 years and makes him wiser" turning it into a new monster. Then yugi counters an attack by playing a regular spell card on Joeys turn and joey goes "HOW!" and Yugi replies "Magic!". lmao

for anyone wondering why syk couldn't choose more, for that fusion you first need to select the 2 required cards 1 by 1, so twice you gotta click confirm with only 1 monster selected, and then on the 3th time you select all the monsters to use other than that. It's dogshit UI, but that's why he couldn't cuz he clicked confirm after selecting only 1 monster on the last selection.

Watching Ellum not even Normal Summoning after Maxx "C" was so painful. He even had Simoon, so that would have been 2 Normal Summons, giving 4 searches off of Black Whirlwind.

Definitely not. I don't know sykunnos decklist but all those draws would've likely given him something useful like an imperm to negate assault dragon. It's usually a bad idea to challenge a max c like that

No, definitely not. Max c might have given sykunno another out like an imperm to negate one of those dragons. Also, he has a fusion spell in hand that can summon destroyer Phoenix enforcer which could destroy at one of his assaults. And though it's easy enough to summon 2 of them, it's still goes through enough summons to give a lot of card advantage. And assume sykunno reads the effects of monsters on the field, he can just not play the card that halves his life points.

@@mossthebryophyter A singular Imperm is something modern-day Blackwing builds laugh at, my friend. Not even the big ROCK slows them down that often on a good hand now. And true, 1 or 2 BWADs might be counterable, but THREE is harder. And if you're saying something like DRNM / Droplets or Evenly? USUALLY, a well-made Blackwing board has countermeasures against that. You'd have to be EXTREMELY fortunate to draw EXACTLY that mix of staples to out a full BW board. or, better, just play a meta deck, or, just as good, Tribute their monsters for COST, instead of by effect. The buulds Sykkuno usually plays are more geared towards OTKing using Heroes. So obviously there's a lot of monster effect activations going on. EVEN assuming he COULD build a board, a good BW end board would NOT make things easy for him.

​​@@yanamandram123 so that's the problem with blackwings. If he were to summon 3 assault dragons, it would take a lot of summons tbh. All those summons are definitely gonna give sykunno some useful tools. Also, blackwing doesn't run that many spell and trap negates aside from red archfiend dragon, dis later and maybe baronne (but yata locks you out of summoning her). Hero decks are just build for otking, that's usually just the play style along with the floodgate that comes the mask of change monster. Also, with forbidden droplet you want to prevent monsters from negating it, all you have to do is discard a monster to prevent your opponent from activating anything against it and then also discard a trap to ensure traps can't be used also. As for the imperm, he can also just save it for his own turn and negate ellums at least one of assault dragon and assuming he gets another, the hrd instead. Anyways, if sykunno is running nibiru, it might not completely stop him (since armor master is immune) but it'll definitely still disrupt him heavily.

@@mossthebryophyter I don't think Hero decks run as many Traps to discard off Droplets, maybe Favorite (don't remember the name now) and then Imperm, but that is pretty much it. I ALSO don't think Sykkuno is sensible enough or knowledgeable enough about Blackwings to discard a Trap ALSO as cost for Droplets, typically people just do monsters. In THAT case, HRD Abyss can still move to negate it when Twin Shadow is chained to it. I don't think in either case Blackwing needs to worry about it too much. EVEN in that situation, I'd still make a full board. It'd be hard to OTK since Ellum would have summoned everything in defense position, first off. It'll come down to WHAT Sykkuno has at that point to deal with the Blackwing board, and if he didn't have enough outs to it? Blackwing still has the upper hand there. Full Armor Master is immune to everything as we know. Even if he did target the HRD Abyss and did negate it, that STILL doesn't stop the fact that Ellum would summon all his monsters in defense position, to play around Lightning Storm, and also, because of Black Feather Whirlwind, when he resolves Twin Shadow to summon Silverwind, he can STILL summon the Assault Dragons and/or the copies of FAM right back. So EITHER way, Ellum was still going to be in a position to fight back. The way HE played though? He was in NO position to fight back. Those were the actions of someone afraid of Maxx "C" without realizing the fighting power Blackwings have in 2024.

Look if Sykkuno says "I don't know how to play this game" It means he is a master or above at that game, and you just lost, that guy is so freaking intelligent we are all so lucky he is a good guy, cause that would be the ultimate villain in the story, the secret boss no one knows about, and kills you in one hit the first time you encounter it.

This is stupid. Ellum should have kept playing, regardless of Maxx C. TRUE Blackwing players in 2024 do NOT stop when they see the insect these days. His hand was an awesome one. It was ACTUALLY game-winning. He could have made a phenomenal endboard with 3 copies of Black-Winged Assault Dragon, 2 copies of Bystial Dis Pater (assuming he plays that), OR Blackwing Full Armor Master, OR instead of going that route, he could have ended with 1 copy of FAM, and 1 copy of Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss. Set the Twin Shadow to counter the Dark Ruler No More or Forbidden Droplet or Evenly, and just literally won because Sykkuno would START with a Hero Lives ANYWAY. PAYING HALF his life points with those copies of BWAD on the field? Yeah, he was going to activate more monster effects AND would be killed off by the 3rd or 4th activation. That was a bad decision - stopping your turn with THAT kind of hand.

Okay, but see sykunno is most likely running staples like imperm and hero decks use forbidden droplet a lot (check masterduelmeta). Summoning all that out would give massive card advantage to sykunno for him to use against ellum on his turn. And he may end up using some handtraps he ends up draws as ellum is trying to set up his field

@@mossthebryophyter Okay, first of all, I doubt Sykkuno is running as many staples as you think. And EVEN if he is, a well-played Blackwing deck does NOT get scared from MOST of them. I literally even play through/after a damned Nibiru in my build. EVEN in that situation, I'd have continued making a board. The BEST defense Blackwings have against Maxx C is to overwhelm the advantage gained by it with a board so powerful it'd be tough to completely play through. I DOUBT Sykkuno could OTK through a board that was COMPLETELY formed, with interruptions and burns from BWAD ready and a potential Sharnga in the GY for another pop. I NEVER once said that Twin Shadow summoned the Assault Dragon. It does NOT. BWAD isn't considered to be a Blackwing Synchro Monster. That is evident just from reading it. The reason Twin Shadow is searched and set is because it works alongside HRD Abyss on the same chain to anything the opponent activates on the field, including a Dark Ruler No More or Forbidden Droplets OR Evenly, and ALLOWS HRD Abyss that window to negate the opponent's card. It also serves to Summon Blackwing - Silverwind The Ascendant which is a pop 2 and considered a Blackwing Synchro, triggering the Black Feather Whirlwind too. If you play your cards right, NOTHING the opponent does will faze you if you're a Blackwing player in 2024 now. At least...not MUCH that the opponent can do, anyway. Ellum just chickened out here. That's the truth. Heroes aren't a difficult matchup for Blackwings AT ALL.

​@@yanamandram123​​ Also keep in mind, ellum most likely doesn't know what a lot of the heros cards do (assuming it's not an archetype he plays often) or what's in sykunnos hand such a hero lives. My other main argument is that yeah, he could've won but he could've just as easily lost. Summoning so much against max c is a gamble. You can say oh yeah, build the strongest board but if he gets enough draws, he's gonna have a lot to work to work with At the end of the day though, max c is what won that match
