This video should have millions of views! Dr. West is so brilliant, and his perspectives are needed now (in 2019) more than ever.

Who else is watching in 2019? Avi Lewis is seasoned. He saved a very thought provoking question for the last - "Just to wrap up. It strikes me sitting in this kind of history filled drawing room at princeton. You are an Ivy leauge anti-imperialist. You spent your working life in elite institutions. Why do you stay in these environments, apart from the great salary and other perks?" Only a few like Cornel West can afford to navigate this line of question and come out seemingly unscathed. Brilliant!

But why can’t something be organised like in the days of Gandhi MLKing Mandela ....to precipitate a change now when it’s most needed? All this talk and dialogue is great but it will never provide the change that is globally needed now.

Cornel West speaks for the people and communities that have no voice. Not because they dont speak but may not have the creditably of a Princeton Degree. Modern day Frederick Douglass.

Thank you Cornell West for all you do and for all you are. I have been looking all my life for someone like you. And I also vote to put people in office and become their critics the very next week because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. so we must question everything they do. I campaigned and voted for Obama. I also critized him at every turn that I thought or could be a forgetting of our vulnerable and our children as well as those of other countries. And I am a Christian of the left wing!

We have to unite as a human family. I'm a 60's man child. I have heard a lot of talk about slavery and outright racism, in this nation. Time for my people make an Exodus back to AFRICA. I had the experience as a African man to visit. As I traveled over the Atlantic Ocean, I could feel the soul's of my African brothers mother's, sisters and farthers crying out. Brother West I stand with you. Speaking truth to power here, put time for my people to go back home and help our people aboard to create The United States of AFRICA. 44
I love this guy. Don't always agree.. always listen

It is my opinion that this Mr. Cornel West is a really smart, passionate, thoughtful and wise person. I might not 100% agree with everything he says, but I get this feeling that he's just being honest from the heart. Love for all. He's about love, patience, truth. He might be in a state of strong denial regarding Obama, but I can understand that delusion; I can understand that.Write "Cornel" it has a spelling red line underneath, but "Obama" doesn't. The truth is right in front of you!!

I agree with you. I like Cornel, but I don't agree with everything. Honestly I agree with very little, but I do love listening to him. He has also pretty much lost faith in Obama & is letting Obama know.

Frank Fuentes He's a passionate man, who is also religious. I'm not interested in religion, but he has a good heart and is trying to wake Americans up to their demise. He also talks about oligarchs running the states, which nobody does. The media gates are controlled by gate keepers like Bill Maher and others, but they let Cornel through, because he's religious.

Cory Beatbox, the time has transpired since you written your post. I initially voted for Obama in 2008 only to be disappointed by him. He continued the George W. Bush policies and manifested himself to be a moderate Republican in a Democratic suit. Dr. Cornel West was correct in his summation on Obama and my question to you Mr. Cory Beatbox is that word you used delusion still stands today in 2018?

Always loved Dr. West. Unlike so many, he follows his beliefs and ideals rather than identifying with a politician or party based on superficial similarities (race, gender, age, etc). His endorsement of the Green Party took real guts in the face of the Hillary-vs-Trump sideshow. Dr. West stands for ALL poor working people instead of just boiling it down to a race thing and further dividing us (though minorities definitely do have it disproportionately worse). That's what truly scares the Powers That Be--unity.

It's rare that the BADDDDDDDDDDDEST Brother is also one of the most sincere and most loving brothers on the scene, but that's' who West is. I love Brother West. I do see contradiction in his views on Christian values that allow you to disagree with deed no the doer, but still have so much separation of color. I want to show respect to African Americans respect for their character regardless of their color and I see it as marginalization to define them by their oppression. His hearts in the right place.

Part two, It's not hard to figure out how the country keep changing, which is a old secret, "traitors". See I realize stay under the radar create a lot of different characters. The ones one don't want around their families. But time had built a high population of stay under the radar. It had dominated how one use to think. Where now the people don't have interest in what they were concern about. Stay under the radar had created a whole new society in America. Where many walk around like it don't exist. Each one living a different way in the stay under the radar lifestyle. Had learn to accept the others ways, and the rules went out the window. Now you will see the only things holding everything together is acceptance. Accepting everything against right, so people will not feel guilty. Which opened up the door for other things to enter into America. Which some make it their business to bring in chaotic ways to the table. To keep things unbalance, so many under the radar will know what to do. Now those who not taking part of the, stay under the radar concept. Have a bullseye on their back, by the stay under the radar crew. Is one reason I say, the keepers have nothing to worry about. The stay under the radar will make sure everything gone to be alright for them. Program America train the stay under the radar system so good, they had to do things to freeze the mind, so the corrupted ways won't break down.

With the racism I do not understand it’s as if people have not looked at our demographics nor the projected figures being that of the possibility of our children, grand children, great grandchildren, etc building a life with someone who these people dislike. Or do they realize this and this is why the divide is agitated so? If that is the case why, do they fear Brazil? Is identity so wrapped up in race that is costs so many their humanity?

I think the biggest factor in electing Obama was that Oprah Winfrey was pitching for him just like she put all those books on the bestseller lists. She loves Obama and before he was on her show most of us had never heard of him. I think it's a problem, that one person has that much sway.

he is talking nonsense. "gap between rich and poor" is a very christian (therefor socialism) measure. and it is wrong. the gap between rich and poor in albania is lower than in Germany. does that mean that Albania is in a better shape and more justice? no... when in china millions over millions died for hunger the gap between rich and poor was low. now it is higher - and people are prospering much more. the reason why the gap is growing is because the level of human kind raised. a society of 1 mio. people under normal western conditions CANNOT have a big gap as if the same society has 1 billion people. everything is bigger (companies, resources which are required and so on) ... forget that superstitious gap ideology (it leads to worse societies!) and look just to raise the life quality for the poor ones (without the resentment against more wealthy ones) ...
@tomatodamashi10 жыл бұрын
You are so wrong. The gap is not about making everyone have an equal wage, but an understanding that the small rich class owns SO much more than anyone else. The richest 1% in the world have 41% of the wealth, whereas the bottom 69% have 3% of the wealth. Where walmart employees are subsidized by tax payers money when the owners are billionaires. Where the CEO now makes over 1000x more than their average employee. Where despite productivity increasing, the average worker's salaries remain flat while their boss's keep growing. This is what we object to when referencing the wage gap. It is about stopping the corruption of our politicians by the corporate elite. It is about having a representative democracy where our votes actually matter, because the politicians represent US not some big corporations/lobbyists. Yes some poorer societies have less of a wage gap, but when you look at China where about 300 million live in wealth and the other 1 billion work at slave wages (and America ain't too much better), where Warren Buffet has a lower effective tax rate than his secretary, we have to admit that something is wrong.
