dude, you're a corolla enthusiast, no hate here brother! Corolla Life!! 400whp corolla!? dude thats awesome, the XRS with the 4 wheel discs brakes is amazing, and the modded ecu for earlier VVTI and later redline, sweet!. I'd love to see more of these corolla videos bro (filmed horizontally pls)! i remember the modlist video for the new black car;s engine, great to see the engine it still alive! It's my dream to build out my corolla, sadly im on an engine that isnt the most popular the 2009-2013 2ZR-FE, i believe it is in certain Lotus Elise models with a supercharger.. not sure if i should go all-motor first with the MonkeyWrench racing parts, or just do the turbokit that's out. I daily mine as well, thoughts?
@brandongodwin25395 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Do whatever makes you happy! If you want to turbo it, you can do an aftermarket turbo kit on low boost and probably beat most cars on the road! If you decide to build it, just use quality parts and take your time. Then go for high boost and more power! Never go cheap on a tuner, though! My advice, find your nearest REPUTABLE tuner that has knowledge on your engine. Tell them your goals and they can walk you through a plan that fits your budget!

@@brandongodwin2539 Good point on finding a reputable tuner that has knowledge on my engine. I MAY have to look for a Lotus Elise expert lol.. but good news is my U340E 4-speed trans was built out to handle 550whp & 650TQ after my old one needed to be rebuilt... so im ready for big power if i do build out the engine first before turboing it.

@brandongodwin25394 жыл бұрын
Thanks! But honestly the cost is about the same either way. Turbo kits cost about the same. Custom fab work will cost the same hourly rate on either car/engine. Fueling parts will cost the same. Tuning costs are the same. The only price difference is the cost between the xrs and not xrs, which is only a couple thousand anyways.

Que piezas se tienen que modificar para llevar un motor 1zzfe a 400hp,y centralita (ecu) utilizas apexi FC Commander? Hydra?
@brandongodwin25394 жыл бұрын
I have Hydra. To make the motor strong then you need bearings, rods, head gasket, and head studs are a must. But if you do that to the bottom end you might as well upgrade to sleeves and pistons also. The top end will need to be ported in order to flow the necessary air with smaller turbo (unless you want a really big turbo). Valve springs are necessary to rev higher. The cams and valves help you make the power with smaller turbo. Honestly, with a 1zz, it is best to build motor to make 400hp if you want it to last a long time. 400hp on a stock engine won't last very long. Built engine (done correctly) can last a few years before needing some work.

Nice sleeper, what tires do you run and does your c60 have an lsd? I have traction issues😉. Also been trying to keep the car quiet, how is the noise level at idle or cruise?
@brandongodwin25395 жыл бұрын
I don't use expensive tires, I think what I have are 214 45R 17. No lsd, I almost installed the one I have, but decided it was best not to. The car actually made more power on the Dyno, but 4th gear blew up. So we had to turn it down to protect the transmission. Adding an lsd would only put more stress on it. Because of that, it isn't great on launches, but still a really good highway car. I guess it's loud, but not too bad. I've gotten used to it lol. What have you done to yours?

You're not going to believe me but do a cat back straight pipe. Had a few high end exhaust systems on my 1zz turbo vibe and the only one that didn't drone at cruisin speed was a straight pipe. @brandongodwin25394 жыл бұрын
I have replaced my transmission 3 times in the last 3 years lol. I have used a few different variants of the c-series transmission, but right now I happened to have a c59 with the 4.5 final drive and factory lsd. To be honest, I'm not a fan of this transmission. The gear ratio is much too short for my setup, and the lsd is a joke.

@brandongodwin25394 жыл бұрын
@@luisalejandrorivera9658 yes as far as bolt pattern and mounting, they are the same. But an "auto to manual" swap can be difficult. The ecu will be different for starters. Also you need to cut and fabricate your new firewall and clutch setup. A few parts will be needed from a manual car.

Hey awesome video! I’m debating to boost my Celica GT almost everywhere I go everybody says not to boost a 1zz..would you recommend boosting a 1zz and a eBay turbo kit like 5 psi Good idea or no? I haven’t found a place (near Florida) to tune celicas
@brandongodwin25395 жыл бұрын
I will tell you that I started out years ago by boosting a stock Corolla engine. It lasted years with no issues, that was at 10psi (sometimes more). You'll be fine as long as you use a good Tuner, that's the key. The 1zz will never be a horsepower king, but they actually live up to boost very well if they're tuned correctly under the right setup. Just take care of your car and it'll last. People that tell you otherwise are just saying what they've heard on the internet, but most likely don't have any real experience, so I wouldn't listen to them very much if I were you. However, I wouldn't recommend eBay parts for anything! Most eBay parts are junk, unless you find a trusted seller (not likely). Especially don't use eBay for high horsepower products like turbos, turbo kits, fuel mods, etc. The cheapest reliable kit that I know of for your car is at turbokits.com. There are a couple of other more expensive options, or your can have a tuning shop custom fabricate a kit, which will most likely be your most expensive option. Biggest thing is make sure to do your research and get the right parts the first time, and use a trusted 1zz tuner.

Brandon Godwin how is your wiring going in the corolla s 2zz swap?
@brandongodwin25395 жыл бұрын
Not great to be honest. I can't completely figure out the wiring. Not as easy as it should have been. A few gauges not working, fuel pump not getting power, and when I hard wire the fuel pump to power, the car starts but idles piss poor. For now, I have the 1zz ecu running it... Only because the gauges work with it and the car actually idles well enough to move itself around the shop under it's own power. It's kind of a side project now until I figure out the wiring trouble.
