David's sentence was ABSOLUTELY APPALLING...I didn't see it coming, tbh. I thought Nick would at least get SOME jail time! He is such a slimeball 😡

maria smay I think, not that I agree with it, but the judge is thinking that as David has a criminal record and Nick doesn't, plus the fact that Nick has a brain injury and David doesn't, then in Nick's case it's diminished responsibility. Not that I agree, I hasten to add, I'm just explaining the judge's reasoning.

@@alexanderjones9572 yeah, I totally wrote that comment out of haste. While I see why David's prior record was most likely the reason he got that sentence, what REALLY got me was the judge when she said something about how Nick's brain injury would impede his jail time (or something like that) and how he has a family that rely on him. While I realise many people have forgotten David's (poorly written) epilepsy arc, he DOES have kids that he won't be there for. Granted, it's only a few months away for David, but still...it really got me heated. At least Corrie made it believable, as many people without priors get handed a sentence like Nick's all the time (at least here in the USA). Thanks for responding 🙂

maria smay Also when the judge said Nick runs a business that people depend on for employment. Fair enough, especially now Carla's in no fit state, but can't Sarah run the business? And if she needs help, couldn't Sally be promoted to management? Underworld won't collapse without Nick there!! Plus, as I think Imran said, the very fact Nick IS competent to run a business shows his brain injury can't be that bad, or he'd be in care or need a key worker or something! He's got more business savvy than me! I couldn't do what he's perfectly capable of!

Yeah, Nick should’ve got the same amount of time in Jail that David got I think, personally and especially for lying in Court as well I think.

This was filmed in the same court that Myra Hindley and Ian Brady were tried and convicted in, it was called at that time Chester assizes I think and David and Nick filmed in the cells they were held in there during their trial

Nick gets suspended sentence he gets away with murder but David goes to prison he's not right not fair the system failed for him.

I know right, Gail always acts like Nick is her Golden Boy and he’s f**king not. David’s way better than Nick because David only did things to people when they deserved it whereas Nick just enjoys playing people like fiddles. Nick’s a sneaky slimy little snake.
