Elsie looked thinner and younger seven years later. That was the best hairstyle Emily ever had.

I was 7 in 1962, still got the dull and boring Ken Barlow living in the same house forever and more in 2022.

Not the same house - he was in No 9 in 1962, he's moved all the way to No 1 now!

I don't know why people think Ken is boring. He's certainly not as colorful as other characters, but, in a show with Ena, Elsie, Len, and now Dave Smith, you need someone who's the voice of reason. I loved the episode in which Ken and Len got into a fight over the article Ken had written. In spite of that, they made up. It shows a level of maturity on Ken's part. Sure, he's a snob, but every character has a weakness.

The Roman numerals below “Granada Television” before the programme starts suggest that this was a 1969 episode.

Harry Hewitt being crushed to death by a car on Elsie and Steve Tanner's wedding day in September 1967, would suggest that you are incorrect.

@@eat_a_dick_trudeau I defer to your knowledge of the events and that therefore the episode itself is from 1969. However, I assume you agree that the Roman numerals at the start are MCMLXIX, i.e. 1969. So, it is a bit of a mystery to me, unless I am too short-sighted and the numerals are MCMLXII, i.e. 1962. Merry Christmas!

No it's 1962 as Harry and Concepta just had their baby but it's listed out of sequence as far as I can tell

Dedinitely 1962. The cast very different in 1969.

My guess is the film would have been re-edited with the "proper" (modern for 1969) Granada logo (but with the 'wrong' (current: 1969) year on the copyright notice, not the date of production) for export overseas ... Australia and New Zealand (and others) were quite happy to receive a job lot of episodes of a show that were made once or twice a week, or were seasonal, and run them every day. The Granada logo on a lot of early 60s episodes is quite different. All circumstantial, nothing to back that up
