Corrie today is nothing like it was in the '70's,80's or'90's,then the drama was blended with subtle humour just like Brookside and Take the High Road used to do with their storylines.

1:58 It's odd seeing Bill Tarmey loitering in the background in the Rovers without a single line of script, when he would later become one of Corrie's biggest stars and landlord of the pub to boot! Bless him, Bill certainly paid his dues before he became a Corrie legend, with all the glory that star status brought him. It was well deserved - he was a great actor and deserves his place in the Street Hall of Fame with it's most iconic and best-loved characters through the ages. THANKS for another wonderful upload! Uncle Alberts chiropodist Sally (Suzan Farmer) was really successful in Hammer Films & The Saint with Roger Moore etc…She was married to Ian McShane (Lovejoy) in the late 60s. It’s really sad work dried up for her in the late 80s & she became a reclusive alcoholic & sadly died in 2017 of cancer aged 75. 🙂

Ah I thought I recognised her . She was very different in an episode of Blakes 7 in the same year as this . And her character in this is charming & forthright , I think she would have been good for Ken.

I really can't stand Rita. Gives Hilda a hard time for causing trouble with neighbourly squabbles, yet her sparring partner Elsie comes in and not a word! I hate the way she was always sneering towards the Ogdens.
