Gotta love the way ITV kept us guessing with the End of Part Ones. Sometimes they cut at a moment of high drama, sometimes they do it when Alf's ambling towards a front door.

I know old people looked older back in the day but Phyllis only being 65 is pretty unbelievable....Jill Summers was born in 1910 so she would have actually been nearly 76 when this was filmed. Guess if they had used her real age she would have been too old to work in the cafe.

Anyone else notice how Betty is always wrong about everything? She has no idea about people or their behavior at all. She is so naive and so gullible. I don’t know how she has managed this long and it bugs me that she hasn’t figured out her pattern of constantly being wrong . If Betty says a situation is this way, you can be sure it’s not:)

@@scotiabushcraft9570 I'd go back to 1969 ideally and watch it all the way up to early 1984 when Elsie leaves. It's such a shame how there aren't full collections of those early pre 1976 episodes available. I wish they were but in terms of what's available, I'd recommend 1976 too! A fabulous year for Coronation Street except for the fact that dear Minnie Caldwell left, bless her.
