I know old people looked older back in the day but Phyllis only being 65 is pretty unbelievable....Jill Summers was born in 1910 so she would have actually been nearly 76 when this was filmed. Guess if they had used her real age she would have been too old to work in the cafe.

It's such a shame how there aren't full collections of those early pre 1976 episodes available. I wish they were but in terms of what's available, I'd recommend 1976 too! A fabulous year for Coronation Street except for the fact that dear Minnie Caldwell left, bless her.
