True, but Martin had already had enough of working in the cafe when he left for France, and he is clearly trying to avoid going back there unless he has no other option. To be honest, though, I think he is a fool to be working with Alan after the way he has bullied him in the past. Personally, I would rather be homeless myself!

You have to laugh at Vera - she's the first to have a go at someone for the slightest reason and whether it's justified or not, however when it's coming from the other direction it's poor me, I didn't deserve this. Unusual in this instance that she was the innocent party. Audrey's similar in the respect that she turns it back on Alf when he questions her spending spree. If the lottery had been around in 1988 and Audrey had a won a fortune she'd have had it spent in no time. I were only enjoyin' meself, Alf, says Aud at the bankruptcy court.

Vera wasn't innocent though. She was shouting and laughing loudly taking delight about her boss being in trouble for drink driving while he is sitting in earshot. She is just a stupid person who never knows when to shut her mouth. I mean if you're going to bad talk people and take delight in their misfortune at least don't do it brazenly infront of them and even better idea is not to do it about your boss who can fire you for it lol. Sorry for the rant but i just don't like Vera haha
