The mother of a London bus driver who died of coronavirus says transport workers are being put at risk because of a lack of protective gear.
Meks Nyack Ihenacho, 36, had been a London bus driver for seven years before he died of Covid-19. His mum Anne Nyack told the BBC that he was not given adequate protective equipment.
Transport for London says it is making improvements to safety.

This really upsets me that he was discharged too soon. I'm so sorry for your loss. No patent should have to outlive their children whatever their age. He had a look of pride in tjat picture so you could tell he was passionate about his career. As a bus driver it's disgusting that he was offered no protection especially at this point. It's been 4 months since the State was informed about the virus. This should.nog be happening. Rip sweetheart. may God rest your soul and I hope something is set up for this family. My condolences to you even though that's probably the last thing you want to hear but from mother to mother I could feel your pain as you were telling his story. ❤

This is heart breaking. Everyone doing essential services are dying, yet, the idiots are still alive creating danger zones for the nurses, doctors, ancillary staff, transport workers, garbage collectors. Maunday Thursday, my neighbour willfully blocked my way so I couldn't enter my home. There is social distancing. After waiting with heavy shopping bags with perishables, in the hot sun, for a while, I asked if she'll move for me, to enter my home. She was very abusive, her friend came over and they abused me viciously. They would not obey the rules of social distancing, they have people and children around all the time. They are the unemployed who would not volunteer to ease the pressure on the NHS staff, but, create problems when it becomes a mass outbreak. Your son did not deserve to die, but, we cannot question God's decision. I pray God would save our Prime Minister and take one of these evil people. It should be the same for your son. Why take those who are beneficial to our communities who have something to live for when evil continues to flourish. I pray for you and your daughter, his son, family, friends and his colleagues. May he Rest in Peace knowing he was loved and not alone in his final hours. Condolences to you all. Stay strong mom.

This is so depressing. I wonder if he got neglected. I also had Coronavirus. It started with chills, high fever, pain in legs and arms, pain in the back, complete loss of smell and taste, diarrhea, pain all over the body, nausea, headache, heartache and then I had trouble breathing and couldn't get enough oxygen. When I called the ambulance on the 8th day they made me wait 5 hours, (because they had so many cases) and by the time they arrived (at 3:50am) I was able to breathe better. They didn't check my oxygen levels or my heart rate and just told me to stay at home, because I was still able to speak. After a few days I started feeling better, but still feeling very weak and unable to sit or stand for more than a few minutes. I took a shower, but then suddenly felt a strong and stabbing pain in my back in the lung area. I couldn't stand upright and had to crawl back to my bed. Now, on the 26th day of coronavirus I'm much better, but I feel like I was just lucky to have survived, because my heart withstood the strain. I'm disappointed by the neglect of the ambulance. I really needed oxygen. I was hypoxic. All the guy asked was how old I was and what my symptoms were. And when I was able to speak he just said "Trust me. You don't want to be in the hospital. There are people hanging on life support. Stay at home". I saw a few articles that others were told the same thing and died at home. I feel like it's random who survives and who doesn't.

I know right! And it's so sad, the reality is that black patients often receive the worse care and are over looked, some are released to early when further help could had been given to prevent their death/extend their lives and black women around the world have a massive higher risk of pregnancy complication and more likely to die during childbirth (these are facts not opinion just to answer your questions). Some times it's due to obvious racial discrimination, other times it's due to unconscious bias and some really have to fight their doctors just to be heard and taken seriously (because stereotypes/cultural perceptions etc.)

@@albertteng1191 It's a bizarre decision. In my country, especially a young person ( difficult to say bc I also feel age does not define anyone's precious life and no one should die this way young or old). I think in my country they would do anything to save him and keep him save, to keep an eye on him even outside ICU they treat patients on regular Corona departments as well. A bad mistake would be an understatement. One doctor in my country said she does not understand the process of this virus at all bc young fit looking adults came into the hospital tested positive after calling their local doctor, she said they appeared very lively, fit and talking a lot. You could not tell they were in a bad state but when she checked their oxygen in their blood it was deadly low.

My heart breaks for her, because I know first hand the pain of loosing a son (a child). I buried my son 17.5 years ago, after he died in active duty, with the Marine Corps. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone, and I used to feel so alone. And, I came to realize that I wasn't. Jesus was with me and I didn't know it. But, once I made the decision to seek Him to help me and take away my pain, He did. It was then that I realized, He was always there. My prayer is the same for this mom and every other mom, or family member that's suffering from the loss of a loved one. Jesus is there, turn to Him and He'll answer and He'll comfort you. May the God of Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us all. 🙏🌹

This is so heart breaking I hope her son rests in peace and is in no pain now. Poor family. I have covid 19 symptoms and me and my husband are isolating for two weeks now and the saddest thing is my husbands grandma passed away because of the virus. She died at 92 very sad.

My heart goes out to you for your loss. I know how your son felt because I am a bus driver and I had no protection. I was given one pair of gloves and one sanitize wipe. These items were to be used for the whole day. I had customers try on my bus coughing and not covering their mouths. I had people in wheelchairs which I had to get within their proximity to get them on the bus. I believe in God, so he was my support everyday. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I want to say that his mum looks like a beautiful lady and his little sis too. I want to wish her a lot of strength to continue to be the good grandmother she is and I want to wish her that her son visits her in her dreams a lot - to give her some happiness and strength. And ofcourse I wish God is with her to help with all that.
