For years I have believed that healthcare administrators should be licensed just as doctors and nurses are, and should face the same personal liability for the consequences of their decisions that we do (I'm an MD with 36 years of experience). I guess that idea should be extended to the folks who run PBM's and big pharmacy chains too. If the only skin you have in the game is financial, the only outcome metrics you are going to care about are financial. If you have a deeper stake in the outcome (like professional survival) then true quality outcomes will matter more than financial ones.

Do you expect me to rely on the judgment of mere physicians and specialists? I will spend MY time and money panic buying essential oils and hardware store dust masks, and I pity anyone who believes that knowledge, reason, and intelligence will see us through this catastrophe!

There's a Senator in Utah (Lee) who is all about more professional flooding. It's great for corporate profits, horrible for working Americans.
The head of DHS, Chad Wolf, served as a lobbyist for NASSCOM outsourcing, which imports most of the H-1B workers. These Indian and U.S. companies use the H-1B program to extract salaries from American college graduates (PHARMACISTS, and computer engineers) and they split the gains among executives and investors, the visa workers, their managers, and the Indian government.

I'm spending my junior and senior years of high school at a local career center. Right now, I'm in an application development program for my junior year, but my senior year I will be switching to the Pharmacy Technician program. I watched your reaction to Jubilee's Doctors vs Anti-vaccine debate, and continued watching more of your videos, so when the corona virus started popping up more in America, I was naturally inclined to hear about what you had to say. That's how I got to this video (though I am a bit late), but that's not the reason why I'm leaving a comment... After hearing what you have to say about the Retail Pharmacy Outrage, I couldn't help but be scared about what would happen when I finally go out into the field as a pharmacy technician, nor am I really sure what to do with this information. Though I'm not surprised that retail chains are pulling these kinds of stunts, it's still really scary, especially because this would actually affect me personally. I don't know if I would be able to live with myself knowing that I could have possibly killed someone because I made a mistake trying to meet a quota to keep my lights on. How should I deal with this? To clarify: I do not plan to study to become a full-fledged pharmacist. I am planning to move to Canada some time after high school. Lastly, I have already been accepted into the Pharmacy Tech program for next year, so I can't switch programs again. I doubt you'll read this, but if you do somehow stumble upon this comment, I have one more question: How is the corona virus affecting the pharmacy industry?

I like energy medicine so of course I wanted to use non ionizing radiation to target viruses. Resonance or resonance x11 had a problem because it's an ultra fast laser , cavitation works but only to the tune of 50-80% and ultrasounding your entire body for 30 min to reduce your viral load by 80% might not be worth it except, it significantly reduces infectivity AND is the same frequency for fat removal....... so got any obese nurses you want to experiment on ?

ZdoggMD, The tension between MDs and NPs is weak sauce compared to what is going on between pharmacists and MDs in WA state right now. The medical board is questioning the legality of collaborative practice agreements, which is the legal mechanism that allows pharmacists to immunize. What do you think about legally recognizing pharmacists as providers? Re: Don Downing’s recent article in The Hill

Some metrics are business in nature, but many are actually targeting markers for patient success. Patients are more likely to be compliant if they get 90 days supply at a time. Synchronized refill programs for maintenance medications are important for patient compliance for the same logic. Less trips to the pharmacy equals less chance for delay in fill and missed doses. On top of that, the metrics that are actually scored are primarily based around customer surveys and patient satisfaction (satisfied with time to fill, drug in stock, etc...). The metrics pertaining to efficiency and productivity haven’t been scored in a while. They’re still reported but have no impact on the weekly “scorecards”. I suppose two opinions of these metrics exist. Either they are to drive business, or they are to encourage patient compliance. I argue it’s both because they are directly correlated. While it is true that workflow optimization is affecting quality of care, the metrics are not the culprit. Workflow optimization is designed to work under optimal conditions, with experienced and capable CAREER technicians. The pay rates for technicians is not competitive enough to draw enough quality technicians that consider it a CAREER and not a job. So, a high percentage of stores cannot function properly when “adequately staffed” according to workflow optimization. The technicians are too young and inexperienced because it’s just a job. The turnover rate is too high to have this ideal setting actually work. Looks good on paper, but doesn’t translate to real world success.
