Hi good video i bought a Seagull Silver Century Long Shaft last summer £150.00, I only used it once, it ran sweet, it has only ever been used in fresh water with minimal usage over the years. Anyway through lack of knowledge I ran it for 3 hours with just with one bottle of Oneshot 2 stroke oil to 5ltr of petrol I had no issues with the engine plenty power and nil smoke. But watching your video's and others online I better drain the tank, it would not start yesterday after storage all winter with fuel in it, so I cleaned jet and away she went lesson learned remove old fuel before storage. I do not want to kill such a well crafted outboard that is immaculate condition not even a dent or scratch on the Tank, so any tips guys for a Seagull Engine Novice would be much appreciated.

@@barjhealy i have just bought today Wilko High Street shop outboard 2 stroke oil it was only £2.75 for 500ml its says its mineral oil, would it be ok to run my seagull on for a short time ? someone on youtube said it was good to go or will I just go and buy TC3 Marine oil its hard to find and is bloody expensive on EBAY or Amazon with postage most garages only have motorbike 2 stroke.

Hi Mate Can I have some advice again please, I am mixing 10/1 mix for my seagull 102 series’s, my oil is MP3 sport semi synthetic 2 stroke marine outbound oil, with your experience will this be ok, to mix with petrol Many thanks Neil

Hi, I have a 1963 40 plus, which I would like to convert to 25:1. However, I have read that converting the needle isn't appropriate on pre 70s machines, as they need more oil. Do you reckon there would be any sense in carrying out the conversion then running it on a 15:1 or 20:1 fuel mix?

Sometimes a older or slightly worn seagull will prefer 10/1

If the conversion is done to run at 25:1 , how does it affect performance if the motor is not worn ? Does it perform better with less oil in the cobustion mix ?

Hi Anet Some of the older seagulls will prefer the 10:1 as the bronze bushes could be worn .
