Not a correction but a fun fact, the reason the turtles wear masks is because of the turtle species they were based on, the Red-Eared Slider, has a red marking on its head that goes up to its eyes. The turtles all originally wore red masks but they stopped (I assume because Raph is on assault charges and they don't want to be mistaken for him, I dunno. I haven't read the comics)
@isskull7272 Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, the coloured masks came about in the 1987 cartoon so it would be easier for kids to know who is who. The whole thing about that show was to sell as much merchandise as possible so it only made sense to make the characters look different… especially with bright colours. I always went for Raph because my favourite colour was red… was it manipulative? Yes. Did it work? Yes. Do I feel used? Yes. Will I continue to browse Ebay for old insanely expensive figures that I will regret buying later? Definitely.

Correction: The queen didn't revoke Andrew's titles. It requires an act of parliament to do that (apparently). She simply stated that she doesn't wish him to use them anymore. The only thing preventing Andrew from continuing to use the titles is a fear that the queen will set the corgis on him.

She revoked his military titles, not his royal or peerage titles (which are the ones that take an Act of Parliament, such as the Titles Deprivation Act 1917 which authorised the stripping of titles from peers who fought on the other side in WWI). The reason the Turtles wear masks is not to hide their identity. It is called a 'Hachimaki' a traditional Japanese headband with eyeholes. Just like Martial Arts and the Japanese language, it's one of the many things Master Splinter learned from his master Hamato Yoshi, and he passes his teachings on to his sons.
@elyssay31572 жыл бұрын
Why didn't I remember that? Was it in one of the movies or a cartoon?
@joshm67202 жыл бұрын
So it IS a type of headband! in the comics (they were black and white comics as I recall.. at least the early ones) they were also not color coded. later for tv etc I think they added the colors so it was easier to tell who was who.

For Germans the Pizza Hatz part is pure gold. Wonder why? Well, "Pizza Hut" (pronounced "germanly" Pizza Hoot) literally means Pizza Hat. But then Pizza Hatz (pronounced "germanly" Pizza Huts - just like nuts) is German for Pizza Hunt. Translating Pizza Hut into German would be "Pizza Hütte". How do you like that? 😂

The “first” fifth Ninja Turtle was named Venus de Milo, from a super obscure short-lived live-action tv show. There’s since been a “real” fifth Ninja Turtle introduced in the comics name Jennika… but she was a human who mutated into a turtle after a Hail Mary blood transfusion, rather than a turtle that mutated hands, sentience and vocal cords from exposure to “mysterious radioactive ooze” 🤷🏼♂️
@fragamar2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I'm glad someone brought this up. Also, very appropriate last name

@chazblank27172 жыл бұрын
I suppose if you really wanna get in the weeds… as I found out, Venus de Milo was actually taught Chinese martial arts, meaning she’s not technically a ninja. Apparently this was a part of the reason it was such a short lived show. Jennika on the other hand was at least trained by the Foot clan before her blood transfusion. So she’s definitely the clear lead in terms of fulfilling all the criteria for being the “Fifth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.” Especially when compared against any of the honorary “Turtles” like Casey.

Given that the Turtles' favourite food was pizza, I think you have something here. My son has a TMNT truck with a pile of pizzas in it that you can shoot from the truck. It is the best thing ever. Pizza Hatz should deliver pizzas with all delivery guys dressed as Turtles. If you're having a party, you could specifically request Confetto who will also shower you with coloured paper and glitter! If you're having issues with your metallic objects, you could request Magneto - sorry, wrong franchise! 🤪 Enjoy your break, Seth!
