13:21 4 year old: "I hate you for making me go to preschool!" Dr. Honda: "You don't get upset. You don't go 'You're a piece of sh!t. Preschool is good for people. What's wrong with you?" I laughed at this for like 20 minutes! So true though

Is it likely to get disorganized attachment from having one parent that was overprotective, caring, dominant and overbearing mostly, but with lots of rage and screaming? And the other parent being there but not being there emotionally or comforting?

Can confirm since I possess disorganized and avoidant attachment for the exact same circumstances. It's weird all those behaviors can be exhibited by one person

I agree that insight doesn’t help. I have a lot of insight but I find I still have problems changing my behavior.

I agree with this.

Thank you for your work, Dr. Kirk and Bob. Whenever I hear conversations about the training of psychologists, I always want to think about the differences between PhDs and PsyDs as the amount of time and focus on clinical work vs research is somewhat different.

Master level clinicians do their residency outside their degree program 2years (ed) +3 years (residency), while psychologists do their residency within their degree program 5 years. It near the same when you look at it like this except psychologists do 1-3 classes on eval and supervision but also their residency is completed as an intern thus held to a lesser standard for that time/training/education. All residencies are full clinical training events for those wanting to be independently licensed clinicians, so the education and training are only different to a small extent in those early years of a degree program and maybe by 1-3 courses. LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs, LMHC are mid-level practitioners in psychology. Same as NP vs. MD.

I feel uncomfortable when people try to convince me accept my emotional abusive ex who has huge attachment injuries, married to him has been worst time in my life, they says “ oh his angry kids out of house now, he will get house with you, dating is hard, no many good guys out there … “ I don’t think so, I think why not give some other guy a chance? Who is well mannered, loving and treat me not like employee, but partner !
