Timoti 99 yes I actually do. It’s about 50 seconds to 1 minute (depending on what you include as being the “sponsored segment”). It’s quite surprising though as, in this period in our history, we humans have the shortest attention spans since pretty much the beginning of life. We are so distracted by technology that it’s hard to even sit in an empty room for more than 30 seconds without being bored. So, it just makes me so happy that the Corridor Crew are able to produce ADS that are intriguing, fun, and engaging especially in period of time.

I'm sucker for industrial images and Sam's image at 9:49 really catches my eye. Clint's elevator (colored) image looks good because of colors and camera angle. Nick picked really interesting subjects plus his photos remind me of cyberpunk/film noir mix of styles. SO because I'd really like to see Nick do some more work on Corridor's main channel I'd pick his images. Anyway, now I really wanna see more, and maybe you should bring more people, especially Adrian. Really curious how well he'd do.

@kiprs
@kiprs 6 жыл бұрын
a great place to start is... to take lots of pics with your phone. you'll get to better understand framing/composition. when you're ready for an upgrade, buy a cheap DSLR with a kit lens and get into understanding focal lengths, aperture & iso's. but I can't stress enough how much your eye is more powerful than your gear when it comes to final results.
@Ze3Drafael
@Ze3Drafael 6 жыл бұрын
Go take pics. That's how you start. Because in photography there are a few rules. Those can be looked up in Google. It's up to you to take pics again and again. Learning what makes a good picture for you, and developing your style. Either with a phone to a top of the line DSLR, take pics as much as you can. That is how you start with photography. Edit: Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of how Sam thinks. I think Nick's pictures are better, because he uses his camera to compliment (in a sense) his style. He's working with the camera, not against. Bottom line is that it doesn't matter what camera you have, it's what you make of it.

You are kind of misleading people by comparing a Canon 80D to these full frame cameras. Canon 80D is a crop framed sensor so it takes in less light, it would be better if you compared the Sony to a full frame Canon like the 1dx or 5d4.

Doesn't matter if they are as good or not its more for the sake of a fair comparison. Its just like comparing the Sony A3 to a Red camera we all know its not as good as a Red but it shows the difference between their low light performance. A canon full frame camera will perform better than a crop framed 80D simply for the larger sensor size so for the sake of comparison I think they should have used a full frame instead.

Sony's A7iii is amazing, but for the comparison you did, I don't think the 80D is the right model to compare with. I would have compared it with a 5D mk4 or a 6Dmk2. if only looking a price range, the A7iii is about three times the price of the 80D

Clem J the best comparison I can make is that a ten dollar bottle of wine and a fifteen dollar bottle of wine aren’t going to taste much different but if you really learn about wine that fifteen dollar bottle of wine will start to taste better and better to you. The same with Nikon and canon. Starting out the Nikon will fit your needs but if you have any canon products they eventually will win out.

I'm gonna guess 6400 ISO is the A7S III's native ISO, which is why it looks cleaner than 3200. Could be wrong. Also shame Sam doesn't want a panasonic camera, but I understand why, not a big enough sensor for photography especially. But for video on a budget they are 10/10.

Favorite photo is the one with the chef as the subject. As Clint said, like "looking into the window of the soul of a chef." It seems to me that the still captures something deeper than just the image of a person, but insight into the deep and personal thoughts of someone unaware that they are noticed. Like capturing a ghost, or the existence of a unicorn in the wild, capturing a moment unseen by anyone else. Enough poetry, though, Toss that image onto a screensaver with light classical piano and restaurant sounds and it would become something mesmerizing.

Hakim Lite Hakim Lite why is it dumb? It’s nice to see the differences of cameras in the same weight class and not in the same weight class. The sensor size thing is negligible, and big films have been shot with both. Price doesn’t matter really and it’s interesting either way. People have compared a red and an iPhone on KZbin before and that is interesting too. In fact it’s probably more interesting because you can actually see the difference in those cases. Also why are you replying to this now? It’s been like 10 months

I love technical camera comparisons! I do want to point out that the Canon 80D has a smaller cropped sensor, so I already expected the other cameras to outperform it just based on the fact that they were full frame. The noise reduction on the Sony A7iii was impressive as hell, and the 80D was completely left in the dust. I think it would be cool to compare on of Canon's full frame cameras (5D IV, 6D II or even the 1DX II) to the A7iii and the Red.

You can get a lot more latitude out of the canon cameras by using a flatter color profile. The built in neutral one with contrast turned all the way down and saturation knocked down 2 steps from the default 0 gives good results. It really helps to turn the sharpness all the way down as well. The footage from the 80D didn't look like it was using the neutral profile, so I'd recommend retesting with a different profile. It's still never going to be at the same level as the A73 or RED, but it'll be much better than the default standard profile. If you want to take it a step further, you can install your own color profiles like the Technicolor Cinestyle or Canon's C-LOG profiles. It gives you a similar look to log footage. You can't push it as much as the sony footage when you shoot in SLOG, but you retain the full ISO range and still get a pretty acceptable output.
@TechnicalGamingChannel
@TechnicalGamingChannel 6 жыл бұрын
I'm a professional photographer. I know how RAW works. The footage they're shooting with the 80D uses the color profiles to determine how it interprets the sensor data into an image. Because it can't write the video as a raw file (natively anyway) like the RED cameras, it bakes the color profile into the footage, which limits the dynamic range, color balance, contrast curve, etc. For RAW images, obviously the color profile doesn't mean anything. For video files, the color profile is everything.
@mattcaporaso7570
@mattcaporaso7570 6 жыл бұрын
nah wrong. While yes the default canon/ sony profile is very contrasty and saturated, having a flat log profile on pretty much any 8bit 420 video (pretty much any stills camera except the gh5 i think) is a waste. The codec literally cant handle being stretched into a properly balanced image. Slog, Clog etc pretty much require a 3rd party video recorder for a better codec if you plan on grading. Youre better off shooting a profile closer to an rec.709 image and maybe doing a tiny touch up in the colour grade, this way youll have a cleaner image overall. Stills image colour correction =/= video colour correction
@TechnicalGamingChannel
@TechnicalGamingChannel 6 жыл бұрын
Matt Caporaso you’re right to a certain extent but, in the case of canon cameras, the stock color profiles do not produce a flat image. For the purposes of grading, you need the image flat. The best way to get that is with cinestyle or SLog. With proper grading the footage looks great in my experience as a professional editor. The problem is all this footage is 4:2:2 at best and compressed to a lossy codec.

I wish you would've done a better Sony vs. Canon low-light comparison. Comparing the full-frame a7iii to an 80D that is half the price is a bit unfair. It would have been cool to see the a7iii vs a 5D mk III or IV. I bet the a7iii would still win but it might be close.
@RumleKjaer

Baseball Tests like that has been made and A7iii is crushing most cameras in lowlight (including Canon). But I agree about the full frame part
@leecason9468

Baseball not even close. Canons sensors use old tech. Their iso performance is nowhere near the d810 and the a7riii, a7iii. But to be fair Nikon's d810 used the a7riii sensor. Sony is making the best sensors now. Canon is making their own old sensors. They have not inproved much in the last few years.

Not sure that’s totally true. Not totally false either but the anime car video or the silent hill one looked on point. The worst is when they clearly have no NDs and shoot wide open anyway and they have to be at like 1/4000 of a shutter speed. That’s really my only gripe with some of the videos.
@dawsonboyle99
@dawsonboyle99 6 жыл бұрын
Rhett Thompson true, I hope corridor doesn't take my comment the wrong way, also I think the high shutter speed look is a style they like to use. But other than that it's not the camera it's how you use it and if you can get the most out of it.

Favorite Picture! 11:50 I really love the composition in this one and it has a great asymmetrical balance. The shot itself plus the subject in frame makes it feel like a wide shot to an opening scene of a movie! Great job guys!!! You guys make the best camera comparisons, especially with the iso's grain and detail! The comparison from the Red to A7siii is insane!

"Sam hated DSLR cameras until he tried this one" ?? Really? Can you PLEASE stop with the clickbait titles? Its REALLY annoying and makes me not want to watch the video. Especially since its probably (haven't yet, and probably won't, watch this one) not the only thing its about. Its gotten really bad lately imo. I mean, just look through the "related" vids on the right... Same with the recent "$10 bet bla bla bla Sam gets shot with airsoft guns". Well geez, you just summed up the plot in the title already, and the video is almost 15 minutes long? What the F? Also also, haven't you done the exact same thing a few months back?
@foochs
@foochs 6 жыл бұрын
Does it really bother you that they want to attract a younger audience? You either enjoy the content or you don't, and if you don't enjoy the content then you're wasting your time clicking on their videos in the first place.
@pdittrich
@pdittrich 6 жыл бұрын
I'm genuinely curious what makes you think I am "old" (as opposed to the "younger audience" of yours). I personally wouldn't consider myself as such, and if they were in fact trying to attract me (if I were not already subscribed) it wouldn't be working I don't think.

pdittrich If you like their content, you won't care about the clickbait usually and watch it anyway, if you don't like their content they aren't trying to get you to watch anyway, and if you don't know them these kind if video titles are what attract people to click. They don't really have a reason not to other than that it annoys some people.

6:54 It's not about NR capabilities. I could be wrong for sure but I think it's ralated to the signal:noise ratio. The sensor ganerate less noise when it has a better signal (more light) until it clips. So a properly expose image would be always better no matter the iso assuming you reached the lowest shutter and the fastest f-stop possible. I noticed the same things in the Sony A6300 and Sony A7sII.

My favorite shot is the B/W shot of the parking attendant, at least for this shoot. When out and about, you don't have time to get every shot perfectly, but with a good eye you can see which shots will clean up later. This just showed how Clint knew what he was going to do, and how he actually accomplished that in post.

The 11:41 so called shantytown sticks out for me, I can imagine a pan down to a crowded street scene with neon lights and drifting steam rising from the vents in the curb. A slow pan right brings a couple of huddled figures on the street corner into view as the noise of the street slowly fade and we begin to listen in on their conversation...
