Thank you 👍😁

Great bit of kit mate without the sniffer I reckon it would be very difficult to find the leak within the compressor 👍🍻

Very true. I wish I'd have shown it but I put soapy water on that joint and it didn't bubble up so must be a very small leak that will get worse at different temperatures when the compressor expands and contracts with heat. 👍

I'm trying to put a link to oceanhvac.com . Go to calculators menu then gas pressure 👍

Have you had any problems with that sniffer?
@Automotive_Solutions3 жыл бұрын
No, it's been great. I do turn it off if I'm not using it as I notice the tip gets pretty warm. Have you had trouble?

@@Automotive_Solutions I'm looking into getting one. I'm looking for a better way to test for slow leaks other than UV dye. What model is your one?
@@Automotive_Solutions Thanks, I saw one of the A/C guys sniff an evaporator leak from an interior vent and thought I need me one of these!

@@duncanevenson4621 it's a very impressive bit of kit. You need the whole nitrogen/hydrogen gas setup as well for it to work as it's not a refrigerant sniffer. 👍

That is using the 5% helium mixed with nitrogen forming gas. Put some bubbles soap where are you suspect that leak on the compressor see if it bubbles ? Helium has a tendency to be such a small molecule it also finds ridiculously small leak that an ounce of refrigerant or 30 g will take a couple years to leak from. That’s why I’m curious if that leak the helium leak detector found even gives off one bubble even a tiny bubble in one minute Or a few minutes

I did put some bubble spray on there but couldn't see it bubbling. Perhaps at certain temperatures it will do.

@@Automotive_Solutions Using helium or hydrogen leak detection method often find leaks unhumanely small beyond our possible perception but at least it zooms in on potential future leaks that may get bigger
@Automotive_Solutions3 жыл бұрын
@@coldfinger459sub0 I'll keep an open mind on this one. I would of liked to see it bubble up.

@@Automotive_Solutions I so much wanna helium leak detector but my bucket list of tools is so big and so long it exceeds most men’s entire year wage.
