Corsa D - How to change a wheel cylinder!

You've inspired me to work on my own Corsa D. My dad passed away two years ago and always used to fix my cars, so I want to make him proud by learning hi wto maintain my own car. Hi mate, I enjoy the Corsa vids. I’ve got a Corsa D as well, from year 2014. When changing the rear brake shoes, do you also renew the brake drums? Cheers!

The brake shoes should be changed ,probably contaminated with brake fluid ….no good now

That screw that is connected to the cylinder doesn't want to come off and I can't change the cylinder on my Tigra.

How come its not loosing oil when you disconnect it? Is it cause you have twisted back the oil cap?

I always tighten then pull tube off to I know it is closed no air to pull back in.

I got it from Argos, its a RAC one and i have had it for about 2 and a half years. Its pretty decent to be honest. Although i think you can get a deal on the halfords professional set which is better for the lifetime warranty.

Tom's Driveway i just want something basic as i Told you In your last video just got a new car. I'm thinking of doing basic things like changing the spark plugs on it

Yeah I remember you saying, well the Rac one i got has spark plug sockets in aswell plus torx sockets postive and flat scree bits. 3 different extensions. Shop around is the best advice really

I’ve got a 2012 Corsa D too! Got the sxi! So I’ve got the 5 spoke alloys! My drums and callipers need painting! So can you just spray paint them? Or would you need something different? So with the drums just take the wheel off then the front cover? And also haha how do you paint callipers? :)

So you can spray or paint them. You should use a high temperature paint. Ensure you remove all rust and dirt from the drum. As for painting the drum just do it on the car. For the calipers take them off and spray them. While you are at it, clean the sliders and break hardware!

Tom's Driveway haha drums easy front end no idea do you want to do it haha I’ll drive down and you can do them for me😂😜 I just honestly hate seeing them! You seem to know a lot more about the more the mechanical bits that’s I ever would! 😂

Haha definately dont take them apart aha, just spray them on the car. Just make sure you mask it all and it is possible. Plus prep the surface well beforehand.
