This is a review of the Corsair HS80, the best Corsair headset available - at least in my mind. It might not be as feature rich or as fancy looking as the Corsair Virtuoso XT but what it lacks there it makes up for in comfort because oh boy is it good.
It also has high-quality, high-res 96Khz/24-bit audio on PC, making it a headset to be reckoned with.

your reviews are next level! If I could make a suggestion though, you should add annotations to your video so its easy to skip around and find specific bits of the review viewers find most useful. for example I came to this video to find the microphone test but either have to watch the whole review or scrub around. luckily I enjoy watching the whole video but annotations are next next level. cheers.

Really nice review. About sizing, I own the g pro x and use it in the 9th position for the earcups. I think I have a big head, but can I fit these? Having in consideration that I use pro x really open in the headband

finally, loved the sound of virtuoso but it was painful to wear after a few hours of wearing them. had pain on the top of my head and ears. also sometimes the ear cups didn't seal 100% so it sounded off on one side.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if Corsair released a HS80 Pro with BT, a 3.5mm jack, and replaceable earcups. That would probably place the headset as the best all-around headset of 2021. The asking price would probably be the one caveat though. I am thinking $200 USD. Then again that would make their Virtuoso XT look like an unreasonably priced headset, so we'll have to wait and see.

I find that just running these off icue is best as it runs in 8 channel audio, for some reason Dolby atmos makes them run in 2 channel audio.

I wish they'd give us the virtuoso (non SE/XT), but with the rectangle ear cups. I paid $10 more than this one for the plain old virtuoso and the build looks so much better, but I had to spend another $30 on upgraded ear cups, then I still had to modify those to get comfortable. I'm still within my return period, but I don't really like the looks of this one.

Thank you for this review. Is it possible to switch off this annoying red flashing on the microphone? It is terrible because I can see it periferical when I don't use the mike - and normally I don't. I have visited a couple of forums - switching off the mike flashing lite is not possible by them. How silly thing it is? If you have glassess it mirrors on the glass. It is very frustrating that they ruin with this pity thing a basically very good headset. I'll return it.

I really hate that they do braided cables. Doesn't anyone know that braided cables transfer rubbing sound up to the headset? It's almost impossible to avoid with braided.

So I had this headset for 6 hours total and had to send them back due to the microphone being faulty, which apparently, is an issue that I am noticing on different forums like LTT, Corsair forums, and a few others. I was on the phone with Corsair tech support for almost an hour troubleshooting the mic and they even deemed it to be faulty. Yes the earcups twist off as stated by other comments. The microphone arm is adjustable but you need to actually bend it. Sound quality sounded pretty good during my 6 hours before returning them. My microphone was super quiet. It was only detecting about 10% of the volume even at max level. I had to yell into the mic and almost swallow it just to get normal levels of audio through it. Nothing was stuck in the microphone holes, nothing obstructing it and there is no plastic liner covering it that I missed either. I wear glasses and wear a size 7 3/8 size hat. The clamping force was enough to cause discomfort with my glasses but that might ease up as you wear in the cushions but I cannot be certain on that. Without glasses the cushions are extremely comfy. Also, the speaker drivers are slanted inside the earcups so they do conform to the angle at which your ear protrudes from your head so that is nice. My ears stick out about 1.25 inches from my head and my ears never once touched the inside of the driver wall. I didn't get to test range or battery life due to returning them so quickly. I should have held onto them for another day but I didn't want to risk not being able to return them due to the mic volume being so low issue which was deemed to be faulty.

I did order a new headset but through Best Buy this time to make returning them easier. I'm really really hoping the first time was a fluke and I'm really hoping this 2nd set will be amazing. I feel like I'm on a never ending hunt for a good headset lol. Btw how are the G Pro X wireless headset when it comes to ears touching the driver wall? Are the drivers flat or slanted to accommodate ear shape?

I think you'd probably have issues. The earcups are quite shallow.

Hello, I love your review. I have a Logitech pro X where my USB DAC adapter is broken. So I cannot use it with GHub anymore. I looked to buy a new DAC adapter but cost is rather expensive and I have never really been happy with the sound. Would you say the corsair is better than the Logitech pro x?

it sounds very good on ps5 with or without eq setttings, it also works much better than most with its 3d audio feature.

does it have decent directional audio? i don't really need the best directional audio but anything decent would be enough. i heard that the virtuosos had this problem which is unfortunate since i play games like apex legends. or is there a headset out there you can recommend with these specifications? -wireless -decent audio quality -decent directional audio -good mic -adjustable mic-monitoring/sidetone i was also considering the astro a50s but i will definitely have to save up for that

Not for me because the A50s have the convenience of the base station and the 3.5mm connection option but if you're not bothered by those things then yes it's a great choice

Late reply but you can actually change the white lighting on the RTX 3080 FEs heatsink to any colour on certain apps, like icue and Evga precision. It was kinda a secret people discovered as usually the lights are just static white. But they’re actually rgb and you can change the lighting in certain softwares!

I have the HS70 Pro and it's well regarded for the price. I find them very comfortable, the sound is great with some eq tweaks and the mic is decent. People comment quite often on discord that my mic is clear. My only complaint is the micro USB charging. I wish it was USB C.
