Would you be able to speak about: --The method you used to find a reliable manufacturer. --How you negotiated with the manufacturer. --Any tips for marketing your product. Thank you for making these videos about your invention. I personally found this very inspirational and you have encouraged me to follow through on a few of my own ideas.

Interesting to hear about the process from an inventor’s perspective. I used to be a design parent paralegal before I did a career switch. A common example of a plant patent is, well was, Honeycrisp apples. It was created at the University of Minnesota, and while the patent was still valid, they earned royalties from the sale of the trees.

Good disclaimer. Clear, concise, easy for the average person to understand and it covers all the bases. It should be used in drafting classes for lawyers.

You did a great job on the highlights of a patent that will start anyone off on the right path to patent their product. I have (in the past) made ink drawings for patents that are on file in the patent office (before computers were used for drawing) so I am familiar with the patent process. You made this video interesting; it should be a big help for anyone looking to paten a design. I would also like to thank you for the free shipping code for Weaver orders. I'm new to Leather Crafting and I just recently made my first purchase from Weaver; they treated me very well, I will be buying from them again.

Hey! Maybe you would want to include the U.S. patent number on your product page. It provides notice to potential copycats and attorneys usually advise that. :)

It would be good to reinforce that the important details (Like the 1-year grace period) may only apply in the U.S. - again, contact a lawyer specialized in your country's law.

So think of something new, build a prototype, get the provisional patent, try Kickstarter or just try to sell the product, if it goes well make a real patent after consulting with IP lawyer. Did I understand it correctly?

Im curious about patenting the designs of the wallets. Ive looked online and of course have found nothing but conflicting information whether or not the design of a wallet is eligible for a patent.

The same type could be sold in another part of the world and groups would keep the exposure to a small circle of people, so to prevent you from knowing about it. This happens a lot.

I have a product idea and I know it’s great the only problem is I don’t know how to make it exactly. Who could I go to or where can I can go find out who can help design the product without stealing my idea?
@robertduguay6893 жыл бұрын
I have heard people say they would not patent their product because they can’t afford to protect it. So we’re you able to recoup the cost to protect your patent when you won your cases?
@Corter3 жыл бұрын
in my experience when it goes to court, a winning judgement will include court costs. But you do need the capital to pay your lawyer to get through the whole thing before that check comes in at the end.

They steel it to prove it themselves, and since it takes time to patent, then they can take your creation and work on it, then they are the ones who came up with the idea, because they have a working prototype. Therefore, make sure you have to have a steady income.

I just help my great-nephew and his few of his friends went in and patent and trademark oh and they did copyright it too a few of their ideas, one's parents took care of the legal part whew several names and parents are on them They enjoyed my yarns and that got them into thinking about somethings so wham I heavily suggested o keep payments up I don't want them to wind up like the fidget spinner lady, that was wrong but I'm glad karma step in not long after and also I'm not at the place to get my ideas off the ground either so I helped them with theirs

yyyuuuuuuuuppppppp, 200% agree - it's just nice to know what you're gonna be paying a lawyer for before you go into it. And it's also good in a lot of cases to prove the market for your idea before investing in a patent for something that might just not be as good idea as you thought once you bring it to market, we've all been there!
