Cortisone injection worked for me but I did it in the near muscle not in the joint itself worked flawlessly

It depends....people that come and see me may have already had 3 injections with no result...as ever, just a tool to be used at the right time, for the right person.

@BrianEllicott there are 2 effect 1 is to dull the pain which is what most people's think the only use of cortisone, but Cortisone help with reducing inflation as well and in my case there was no serious injury but a very high almost paraylayzing inflation , so for me it was a treatment and not just a pain reduction drug
@BrianEllicottАй бұрын
@@melbaki9346 But the real answer will be to discover why the inflammation was there in the first place, if you don't address that....it can always come back....

I had a shot into my left SI joint and it increased the pain severely. This was not just a 'cortisone flare' which can last a few days after an injection. Eight weeks on and I am still worse than I was before the injection. It provided no relief and, with the increased pressure of the procedure on the joint, surrounding tissues and nerves, the pain is worse.

I feel a bit hopeless. When I was 32 years old, my little sports car was crushed by a semi truck (lorrie I think, is your term). My L4 and L5 were damaged. Fast forward to age 41, I was helping a friend move. I can barely move without intense pain the day after. If have noticed that floating in a pool or laying slightly back on an inversion table releases a lot of tension for temporary relief. Strengthening my core is more difficult now due to the pain. I want to hold off on any injections until I am elderly (if I make it that far). The shots have diminishing returns.

Hey! I am 18 years old and am going through similar pain in my L4 and L5 area, it shoots down my leg to my toes. Nothing is worse than sitting down! My advice..get that shot. This pain won’t go away on its own especially if you don’t feel well enough to exercise and stretch. Don’t let the fear of not wanting a shot at a young age stop you from relief. You have to do what’s best in the interest of your health and long term nerve damage. Also if this has been going on awhile, and maybe you don’t want a shot, I would seriously consider physical therapy. Insurance typically wants you to “prove” you’ve gone to PT, seen a chiropractor and or gotten an X-ray/MRI before they would even consider you for a shot. I just got a cortisone shot not even a week ago (didn’t hurt) in my back but it was a long and lengthy process to even get them to consider me for it and for my insurance to approve it. By lengthy I mean months of excruciating pain. So if your pain is persisting- start physical therapy (which helps in my opinion), start seeing a chiropractor or do anything so then you can turn around and be like “hey doc xyz isn’t working for me what’s the next option” and then they can go from there- obviously every situation is different but you should considering seeking help ASAP because it’s best for you in the long run

I’m 34 and had a car accident about 8 months ago, my physical therapist is now recommending a shot of Cortizone in my lower back. I don’t want to have to keep doing this every 6 months as some people say. After watching some videos I don’t think I should do it know. Any recommendations

@Danny VABEACH the first one might give you six months of relief. Then the next one five months. Then the next one two months. Diminishing returns.

Exactly what I told my specialist when he told me to have a cortisone injection... He agreed with me so I then asked him why did he suggest it in the first place, so he then said I don't have to do it... #WTF 😂
