+bobx dark BS, there are plenty of race tracks and wide open roads all over America. you just need to be smart and know where to speed and where not. germany's autobahn is overrated, besides only about 15% of the entire autobahn network have an open speed limit, the rest has a max speed of 130 Km/h. greetings from germany.

15%? Thats so wrong and if you read that I guarantee it was a misleading quote. Ive driven 40,000 miles on them and most areas are unrestricted other than near busy junctions etc. You cant always drive fast as most week days the traffic is horrendous

LOL Are you out of your mind? Maybe you've just never been to the states....there is no shortage of places to go to see what your car tops out at...and I'm not talking about tracks, although we have plenty of those too, but I'm talking interstates and highways. My C6 tops out at 187 mph....and I found that out on the interstate, not on a track.. You should visit a place before you run your mouth about it....never assume anything, it makes you appear foolish and ignorant. I'm sitting here looking at the Autobahn, and I've seen lots of other vids of the Autobahn, and I don't see any difference in it and our interstates and highways...I think the Autobahn is overrated simply because it has parts of it that have no speed limits.....but if you are dumb enough to think that Americans don't drive just like this in our fast cars, then I suggest you watch a few American vids....we are the car chase capitol of the world....and if you want to see how fast your car will go...trust me, there are plenty of places, and you never have to look very far to find one. Study a subject before you talk about it.

@@sschevmale24 fun fact poindexter. stock numbers released by GM/chevy does not mean thats what they will only do. iv had my C5 to my knowledge its stock at the 195-200 mark as well. late night coming home still in Mexico hadnt crossed the border yet long open stretch of Mexican highway with open road in front of me and nothing but simi trucks on the right of me, hammer down and watched as the needle spun from left to right and the HUD went up 1 mph at a time. at such speed the world slows, everything fads away and your floating down the road on a cloud moving at what feels like Mock 1. such a wonderful felling moving at that speed, hope you get to experience it at some point in your sad life tho i doubt you ever will

If you were going just about 5-10 mph faster you would be dead, front end would have caught to much air, blown over, and turned the car into a wrinkled up tin can, think of a nascar blow over without all the safety harnesses and roll cage

I think the airflow past that truck disrupted the car pretty badly, you can feel that even passing someone at 80 and they're going 55, I can't even imagine the clenched cheeks at these speeds!! Corvette probably needs some aero too.

We have Mule Deer, Bears, Mountain Lions, Elk, Moose, Horses, Cows, Grizz, Wolves and more. Not a good idea to go high speed around here. I have hit a mule deer on both my Corvette and my V65 Magna. I have been able to miss everything else. I was doing over 130mph and thought I saw the po po and slowed down to 60 and that is when I hit a 300 pound Trophy Buck. I was able to slow down to around 15-20 changing lanes to avoid it but it was rut season so that Buck changed lanes with me putting his head down!! Up and over he went not crashing through my windshield but coved it with deer sht and cracked my driver side rear quarter panel! I really thought the Porsche 911 in front of me had this Buck but nope. It was me. V65 Magna was a whole heard of Mule Deer ran on to and filled the dirt road I was on and I could not stop being it was dirt so I picked one to hit missed as it jumped out of the way and was instantly filled with another and so BAM! Triple Clamp full body shot spinning this one slinging deer sht and it spun off into the ditch. Amazing I did not lay my 600 plus pound bike down and road to the top of the next hill and finally stopped to survey the damage to my bike. Only a bend front chrome fender at that time 175 bucks to replace!! For a Honda Front fender!! What? Never replaced it. Looked down and up the dip to the top of the other hill I came down and see 2 bikers stopped who saw the whole thing shaking their heads like wow!! Anyway. When in Colorado or Wyoming, be careful with all the wildlife. Sht!!! I lived in Germany for many years. Not a problem there. The largest deer I have ever seen their was about 20lbs maybe? I suppose it would cause some damage. Not sure.

I have a 2000 c5 Corvette with a heads up display. I don't understand the numbers on your heads up display. I know you have a different setting than mine but sometimes the numbers seem to go down even when you are increasing speed so I was confused as to how fast you were going most of the time.

Depending on the year. The zo6 didn't move up to 405 hp till 2002. The 2001 had 385 hp.

I own a stock 2003 C5 automatic. Although my C5 has plenty of power, I doubt if it could reach 185 MPH. I would guess maybe 170 MPH. The C5 in this video must be a Z06 - very impressive nonetheless.

+1compaqedr8 This C5 definitely has some mods, because the top speed of a stock LS1 C5 Targa MN6 is roughly 280-281 km/h, A.K.A 174-175 mph depending on conditions. This freaking thing went faster than 299 km/h which is the top speed of the 400 HP LS2 C6 Corvette MN6. He probably got this C5 up over 190 mph because he was still accelerating when it stopped reading at 299 km/h. Plus you can hear the great sounding exhaust. Sounds like he has Long Tube Headers in there as well among other mods. I love this video :-)

Jason Cohen the 2 doesn't fit in that digital display, so it's dropped. Anything above 200 kph will not be confused with a lower speed, from the 200 kph mark upwards, it's a whole new world what perception is concerned.

The car was designed for the US market and MPH. So the display was only built to read up to 199 MPH, which the car would never exceed. The display actually has 2 Seven-Segment digits with an extra "1" that can be turned on or off at the beginning. Its a very old school style of displaying numeric values (think digital alarm clocks, calculators, etc.)

yeah, if you have an automatic corvette c5 you can do 130 km/h at 1900 RPM and on the manual it will drop to under 1500 RPM, i get around 30 mpg highway with my c5

At a constant 150mph its a dream and very stable! Near 165-175 the front become very light and scared me quite a bit and wouldnt drive at that speed for any long periods of time. I did an average of 140mph in my C5 for around 1 hour as i was heading back to Belgium as i had to make abit of time up but the roads were quiet and safe. So nice to use the car like this!

stoneeh , keine Schlussfolgerung, ich habe mir nur beim Betrachten des Videos im Gedanken ausgemalt, was passiert wenn da Jemand plötzlich ohne Blinken z.B. auf die eigene Spur wechselt. Da hat man bei der Geschwindigkeit null Chancen zu reagieren kann ich mir denken. Soll auch nicht bewertend sein, ich würde selber so schnell fahren wollen, hätte ich das entsprechende Auto. ;-)

63keeper alright. Jep, hast eh recht, wenn wer anderer nen Fehler macht, hat man bei der Geschwindigkeit Pech gehabt. Bei 150-200 kann man mit nem guten Auto vll noch abbremsen bzw sonst irgendwie reagieren, aber darüber wird's wohl schwer bis unmöglich. Ich bin mit meiner Karre paarmal knappe 250 in Deutschland gefahren, würd ich heut aber auch nicht mehr machen... höchstens auf ner sehr gut ausgebauten Autobahn mit wenig Verkehr.
