This guy is an absolute monster. He is truly brilliant. I’m a pianist too and I can instantly tell how connected he is to the instrument. There’s no barrier between his thoughts and his output. That’s like, THE end goal of learning an instrument. Great drumming too. Spectacular. This guy deserves major recognition and a thriving career. And I’m overjoyed to see there are people who come to see this music. My heart is soaring right now. Much love into the world from stuff like this. Makes life enjoyable. Miraculous.

dante dt Gotta call them like you see them, no? This guy just blows me out of the water every time I listen to him. I have yet to find a recording where his musicianship isn’t shining like a goddamn supernova in every direction. And I rarely lavish praise in this way but this man is possessing of a musical soul that is only matched in the world by his own musical intellect. He makes perfect music, basically. There’s no bullshit or filler- what you hear is what he means to say, and he’s got A LOT of really deep, meaningful shit to say. I really just, can’t comprehend how somebody can be like this. I have considerable musical abilities and if they let me live an extra 50 years I wouldn’t have his level of control. He’s a modern day Mozart. Just pipe his music over the Middle East loud speakers and I’m like 90% sure they’ll stop fighting over there. Anyway, I could just keep going on about this man but, gotta stop somewhere, I suppose. I would love to meet him though. Sit in a double piano practice room and learn as much as I possibly could for like, 9 hours.

@@matthewnewton8812You've said it all bro.Every time i watch his videos i ask myself "What is he thinking when he's playing all these things that us mere mortals can't even imagine?" "When did he learn this?" "What does he see when he looks at the keyboard?" His musical gift is beyond me.I had an opportunity to see him play live and also hung out with him after the show. He's just a simple dude, but let him get on the keys...he's COSMIC!He's a gift to mankind, Period!

JasonBassed Oh my god. This is just too much. How is a normal human brain like mine supposed to understand a supernatural comprehension of music like the sort this young fellow clearly possesses? I’m simultaneously awed, pleased and profoundly envious of his ability. Such an uninterpretable mess of emotions. I assume you must be a musician as well. Perhaps you could share your input. I’ve always been very successful at making progress playing music but this sort of ability seems not merely quantitatively different, but actually qualitatively superior. In fact I kind of find it difficult to listen to Cory Henry, a little bit. His playing is so perfect it almost seems like super-human. Anyway, I’ll cease my ramblings. Sorry. :)

Matthew Newton I hear you man. It’s too much to process. I’m a musician(Bass and Keys),not full time. After years of playing, listening and watching other musicians,I’ve come to realize there’re different kinds of people when it comes to levels of musicianship: 1.Those who are born with a superior GIFT of music. These are the guys that play exceptionally well from from a very young age. They hear, comprehend and interpret music differently.Guys like Cory Henry,Justin Lee Schultz,Aron Hodek,Victor Wooten,Domi Degalle,Mono Neon,Chick Corea and others. They’re on another level of genius. It’s like they’re born with scales, chords and musical phrases and harmony embedded in their brains. It’s like they were playing in another realm before coming to earth.Mere mortals can’t understand how they think.Their solos become musical ‘case studies’.One thing that’s common in most of them is that they don’t like the spotlight. They’re down-to-earth and don’t really chase the accolades. Mind-blowing musicians and very cool. 2.Those who are born with a musical talent. This group can learn musical instruments relatively quick but need to work hard to get to the next level and to stay there. They’re the guys that learn and try crack Cory’s solos 100% or close. They love and are fascinated by music and it’s depth. They study the Greats and whoever their influence is.Of course most musicians are in this category, including me.It’s the toughest category to be in because competition is very tight here.If you slack, you get rusty and lose gigs etc. 3.Those who can play an instrument or two but are not into music. If they don’t play in months, they still feel ok.But if they hang around a musician they get a little inspiration to play again. They appreciate music but know that music is not their best talent.Sometimes they feel like going for lessons but park that if they think of doing something else. They don’t even call themselves ‘musicians’.Their keyboards, guitars or drums etc gather dust in the garage. They wouldn’t even mind selling the instrument. To me personally, music plays a huge role.I can’t live without it.I play everyday to expand my vocabulary.Sometimes I’d solo over two chords just to explore different ideas.I know I’m not at Cory’s level so i work really hard to grow and share with other musicians. There’re different aspects i focus on like time, groove, techniques, phrases and scales. They’re so many ways to approach those so i try and find the best musical way to learn, unlike just being ‘mechanical’. I’m trying to get to a level where i don’t think much when I’m playing, like it’s second-nature. I hope I’ll get there.

Y'all better give the drummer some love too. MONSTER timing. I don't know his name but he should be recognized for sure. Unbelievable skills and of course you must have that to be able to play with the child prodigy that is Cory Henry. Peace and Love!!
