Haven’t watched the whole reaction vid yet, but it was awesome so far! Dirty Loops blow our minds in so many ways, and Cory and his horns brought an extra dimension to this remake of a classic… Looking forward to watching all of it. Thanks guys 🙏🙏🙏

Great reaction and super interesting feedback afterwards. Thanks, loved all of it ☺️🙏 That cinematic middle section really takes you through several jazz eras, it’s just so good, what a brilliant idea. Apart from Dirty Loops being brilliant, and Cory and his horns too, it might be interesting to note that this track was written, arranged, recorded AND filmed on two different continents, due to COVID travel restrictions at the time. After that’d been done in Sweden and in the US, Aron Mellergård (drums) then visually all stitched it together. He also does all of DLoops’ visual editing. Listen to the other tracks from this collaboration, “Follow the Light” and “Turbo” being two more great ones with videos attached. Also, I think that the three of you would greatly enjoy Work Shit Out” or any other ones from their Phoenix album. Looking forward to seeing more from this channel, loved it! 🙏👍🤘

The choir is all Jonah, so you could say "they" are present :-) You are right - several of the hornplayers played with Prince. I always feel a bit overstimulated hearing Dirty Loops - but in the best way!

Oh, but the backing vocals WERE present! Jonah, in the vein of Jacob Collier, records every backup vocal you hear. Crazy! Simply amazing!

That’s not in the vein of Jacob Collier. Boston was doing that in the 70’s…It’s been done many times before Jacob was even born

It's not been written yet, so I'll write: this was recorded in two halves; Dirty Loops in Stockholm Sweden, and Cory Wong and the horn section in Minneapolis. They took a LOT of care to get the Minneapolis studio to look like the Stockholm studio. Aron, the Dirty Loops drummer, edited the video together. I love the horn section on this. I liked Pete getting the "James Bond" vibe. They collaborated on an 'EP' together. It's all good, but the only other song with lyrics is "Follow the Light", which is well worth reacting to. Best Wishes, All. ☮

that's crazy!! it's so believable! I absolutely bought that they were recording together. and I only realized it wasn't live, when we watched a second song.

Thank You, the collab has more great songs, please do "Follow The Light"

You likely know this but the filming of this song was actually done over 3000 miles apart. They created a duplicate set and later put them together. How's that for incredible

Fun fact: The two bands never met in person and didn't record that video at the same time or in the same room! Audio and video tracks were recorded on different continents and the resulting video is an editing marvel. All the background vocals were sung by Jonah. In this video, Jonah is lip syncing and the players are miming their parts to the recorded tracks.

Wow!

Just because it's not a live recording doesn't mean it's lip syncing or miming. Everyone here is doing the real thing, but following the pre-recorded track that we are hearing. Trust me, those horn players are definitely playing for real back there.

They made a record together, Cory Wong and the Dirty Loops, during the covid time and never once met in person. So the singer, jonah nilsson, tells in an interview. The si ger and the drummer are classically schooled and have a degree in arrarangement... I find it so respectful of them to give the wind instruments a space to shine too. Really nice guys, their music is all about respect to your fellow musicians and having fun.

The whole "loops" in Dirty Loops name somehow gets totally lost all the time. The amount of hard work and time Jonah puts into it and having them always synched perfectly is an art only he and Ween have truly mastered.
@mattias51577 ай бұрын
And Aron, the drummer I guess. They consider him the band leader. "He's the oldest of us" they say as their motivation. DL is all about respect.

The setup for reaction video was splendid, with the three of you, so you could have the discussion flowing after the video. It seems obvious that you should check out more from the collab in the form of Follow the light next, but why not try Ring of Saturn first (smooth as soft butter)? (At some point you just have to do Work shit out.)

Written, composed and arranged by Rod Temperton. Including the talking "rap" that he wrote in a taxi. The horns were arranged by Jerry Hey. Wackojacko had nothing to do with this composistion. Like almost the rest of all "his" comopositions.
