Hey Brandon, Dallin seems like a super cool kid. He said at the beginning that he's interested in animation and or video game art. I'm a 3D product artist and I would highly recommend you get him set up with Blender and some tutorials. I'm severely dyslexic, but it turns out that a lot of dyslexics think in 3D instead of 2D like most people. That's why 2D concepts like words and numbers get mixed up in our heads, our brains are trying to figure out how they look in 3D so they get flipped around and mixed up. I started learning 3D software in middle school and high school and it changed my life forever! Suddenly I knew what I was good at and what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So please, get that kid into some 3D classes! It might not be right for him but there is a really good chance he will take it and run with it. :) Dyslexics for the win!

And then proceed on a decades long journey of pain, failure, loss, and eventually striving to become a good man again, in order to help save your loved ones and humanity as a whole. Dalinar is definitely not a 1D character, and the best chapters imo are where we see how flawed and evil he was, so we can contrast that to how good he could become/is becoming. i.e. the entire point of (at least the first 4 so far) books, where humans prove that they can change and be better. Literally every major character in stormlight so far is this lol. I hope he reflects one day on how his namesake idealizes how people can change, and should change, so that they can become better. But yeah it was funny that he looked surprised and expected it to be the other way around, I hope it didn't upset him!
