New Directions Australia offers a number of short courses for the aspiring cosmetic chemist, brand owner or industry professional.
Cosmetic Chemistry 1 and 2 is designed to take you on a deep dive into the origins of cosmetic chemistry, answering the why’s, how’s and what’s about cosmetic ingredients, product-skin interaction, ingredient philosophy and more. During this two day course your instructor, Cosmetic Chemist Amanda Foxon-Hill will walk you through how to create emulsions, surfactant based products, spritzers and more, explaining how formulations are built, customised and polished before going to market. While this course is designed to cover the basics, the way it is taught is anything but, we strive to uncover the detail and art behind the science in a way that empowers our students to go out and build their own formulations with confidence.
