This man says star wars is a dumb space movie about sci fi wizards yet will make a whole video ragging on rebels for not being mature enough or will say that last jedi is good because it has deeper themes. Also he gave last of us 2 a good score so that’s pretty fucking contrarian if you ask me.

Did you play the last of us part 2? Also he gave it a 6.5, which isn’t that far from the user score. Furthermore, if you account for all of the 0s given by people who didn’t play the game, Marcus’s score would be lower than what the user score would’ve been if the game wasn’t review bombed. In short, liking tlou part 2 doesn’t make you a contrarian. Most legitimate reviews are positive. The game has its faults, but the majority of people that unequivocally hate it typically either haven’t interacted much with the game, or are too caught up in their contempt for the direction of the story/preconceived notions that they believe the game is supporting and thus are unable to judge it fairly.

@@Cycerio yes I have. I have the game on my Play Station. It’s the exact same gameplay as the first, It’s a linear game full of so many walking talking segments that devs consider to be “game play”. The gameplay combat is good and it’s the best part of the game but that’s over shadowed by the rest of the “gameplay”. The first game had these for sure but it was grounded by the two main characters and their relationship. Ellie and Dina’s relationship is really underbaked. Yes it’s cute to see Ellie play the guitar for her but we don’t really see how their relationship developed to this point and we don’t really see the depth of their relationship for most the game. It’s a generic teen romance in the middle of a violent apocalypse game. Jesse comes in to replace Dina for a bit and aside from the scene where Ellie chooses revenge over her friends, Jesse isn’t all that interesting either. Joel and Ellie butt heads constantly and always had something interesting or funny to say to each other. Here Dina is just completely fine with Ellie going on a killing spree right infront of her and doesn’t really try to help her with her grief over Joel. You’d think their conflict would be Dina trying to convince Ellie to stop and only focus on rescuing Tommy and then Ellie bites back and doubles down on the revenge quest. Instead Dina is just sidelined for so much of the game until the very end where she finally puts her foot down. It should have been built up to that point like a character arc instead of thrown in there for a dramatic moment. I’m not going to touch on Abby because by the half way point I got burnt out and didn’t even bother with the rest of the game. It’s not the worse game ever but it’s real disappointing for me at least.

@@Cycerio the game is pretty divisive so whether an opinion is good or bad it’s contrarian to the other side. There are pratically a whole community of people who absolutely hate this game. It’s half and half. I bought the game because of cosmonauts review. I heard a lot of bad press about it and because I liked cosmonaut I thought “oh well I should give it a shot maybe the reviews are over exaggerating.” I was very disappointed in all honesty.

@@kingcyclops4079 That is a fair point, I enjoyed it a ton so it sucks to hear that it didn’t meet your expectations. That said, your take is valid. I certainly have my gripes with it(I hate many of the narrative choices, fights only involving infected stopped being fun fairly early on, clickers are a terrible enemy that magnetically latch on to you from 5 feet away, and autoloot not being on by default is so dumb). The fights against other survivors carried this game for me. If the hide and seek style of play isn’t someone’s thing or if they weren’t a fan of the narrative I totally understand why they wouldn’t be a fan.
