1. He gets cut on barbed wire 2. He gets bit and loses a major part of his left hand including two fingers 3. He gets stabbed through and strung up by the hands 4. He has to rip his hands through the the hooks to escape 5. A bug pops out his hand when Cassandra(?) forces him down to the basement 6. Dimitrescu slices his right hand off 7. He can get stabbed in the hands of you take too long to find Angie but it’s probably not canon 8. He can get acid on his hand if you’re hit from Moreau’s acid attack. I think there’s even an animation that focuses on it but like the Angie fight it’s probably not canon 9. He starts to calcify of course starting from the hands as they crumble Probably some other instances I’m missing but but didn’t get to see. So definitely at least 7 that are canon in RE8 alone

The Tallahasssee Shuffle complaint is actually so heartbreaking cause Lady D actually does shove other enemies aside if they get in her way so why couldn't that be the case with the player and inanimate objects too? [SPOILERS FOR THE GAME] If you ask me the most satisfying part of the game was playing as Chris. You begin the game with a tiny ass handgun that takes like 7 bullets to kill an enemy, but you end up by playing as a trained soldier mowing down enemies with his rifle.

She had about a dozen opportunities to lock up Ethan, but he just keeps getting away because of her incompetency.

A remedy to the Tallahassee Shuffle; RE7's Father. The father would see you across a table, and proceed to break the table to chase you. You in the hallway? He breaks the wall down. I know those kinds of things are baked in and not super dynamic, but it escalated the fight/escape situation. I think boss fights that would slowly but surely remove your safety would help increase the tension. Kinda like the Heisenberg fight when he destroys the debris you hide behind. Being sorta vague here for anyone who hasn't seen the fight.

I also think a big reason why Mr X was so threatening is because he didn’t talk and all you could hear were footsteps. In this game the bosses don’t really scare you because you constantly hear them talking before they appear and when they do show up you either B line it to the outside courtyard or to the Duke’s room. It kinda sucks because I never actually got killed let alone threatened by Lady D and the bug ladies

Yeah, they went for the RE4 style boss personalities, where they bantered back and were more intelligent than the monsters of the past, which leads to arguably the games contention point for some: It wants to be both RE7 and RE4 at the same time, and it ultimately works for the most part but there are points where it doesn’t.

1:09 that was my exact reaction to that line, I was sharing my screen with a friend and both of us had been quiet for awhile, then Ethan says that and we both start laughing so hard that I had to pause for a minute or so, and when that line is immediately followed with “wait there’s more” we just got totally pulled out of the experience

I actually loved the factory because it was the first time since like, the opening where my ammo stockpile was getting precarious. As a result, every encounter was a tense game of resource management demanding near-perfect accuracy to hit those soldat weakpoints. Plus I liked climbing the factory and calling Duke up to every new level via the cargo elevator, really cool having your savepoint and merchant be a mobile base that you can bring through the level with you.

The dollhouse section is probably one of the best levels in the game

I had the same reaction to the game, in the beginning I felt like it was more of a walking horror sim (except for the great Resi 4 throwback in the village) and cutscenes, but once the game gets going it feels like a video game
