a couple foldable universal tent poles, each end poked into the ground to create a small bow could support your solar panels to point them at least a little toward the sun and allow air movement underneath

Thank You! Another good idea. I expect to be on the road soon and will test out some ideas. The panels are very flexible and can not stand on their own with out back support. I had been thinking about PVC pipe too which can just be assembled into a frame. But I am reluctant to add more gear! One idea that did not work was golf tees. I may try tent stakes too! take some of your cord and stake down a low "clothesline" so you can lay one end of your solar panels on it keeping them off the grass on one end and angling them towards the sun......you could use wood dowels, pvc pipe or something you already have along to provide the vertical support arms to get the line at a good height...you could double up the cords so one of them would be one top of the panels keeping the panels from blowing over Always amazed with how many good tips you have Cosmo...pretty sure the silicone garlic peelers I use daily I got from watching your vids...thanks for sharing!

Again, nice work. I have used buckets, like the ones you demonstrated for decades on canoe trips. They are fine. The first thing to give up is the belief that they will behave exactly like a hard sided bucket. The buckets are different and behave slightly different. As I consider to move from remote backcountry camping to boondocking the rugs you use are of great interest to me. However you stated in an earlier video that they are no longer available. Hope there is a replacement soon. Thank you again.

It's a Cosmo Compilation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's always great to see your videos Cosmo... seeing tips from a real road warrior means a lot more to me than a pretty face trying to sell something... for your solar panel grass killing issue.... could you set them on some 1x1's and put a hinge in the middle to cut down on size? I have to wonder how far off the ground you need the panels to be without scorching the earth. OMG I didn't know Slik was still around... I have had Slik tripods since the 70's!!!! I love the shaft that unscrews!!!! Keep that camera rolling Cosmo!!!
@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. Ya My very old compact Slik tripod recently died and thought I would see what they were up to. They definitely boosted the quality since my last purchase. I viewed the old tripod as barely adequate. This one is very nice (for my needs). I think an air gap of an inch will be adequate. I like your idea even some plastic pipe might do the trick but its not multi purpose. But one suggestion (which I have not tried is to use golf tees.They are cheap and take up no space at all. I will experiment. Thanks for your help. Regards =Cosmo

get some small folding tables to set the solar panels on but you might have to fasten them down in case of wind

Thanks Dave. I tied golf tees but I think they may not be raising the panels enough. I may try plastic tent stakes. Im limited how much I can carry. A small solution is better for my setup. Seems like the easy answer for the grass spots that your solar panels leave, is to put your solar panels on the picnic table so they don't damage the grass. That or lay them on top of your car.
@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rick. The wire on the solar panel is 25 feet (any more and losses are very high). Its often a balancing act to find a spot for the car table and panels. Part of that is my personal preference on the arrangement. I want the car out of the way so I have a great view from the trailer. I want the table near the kitchen for storing gear and other table use. Also I am always looking for a sunny spot which is the most important aspect of panel placement. I will think about this one. There are times this may work. Thanks for the ideas. 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! ✅ Check my other videos kzbin.infovideos SUBSCRIBE kzbin.info =𝓒𝓸𝓼𝓶𝓸 ✅

Each adult outputs a pint of water a night in water vapor. You have to open the windwows and roof vent to get rid of the moisture. It helps if your rig is well ventilated. What trailer so you have? =Cosmo
