Con Talks - Creeper Stories

Alright, since it's so hard to get all the girls together and film something, me and Kumi decided that we would film a vlog! :D First time we've ever done it, so hopefully you can still enjoy it. ^.^;

I met that same guy (the man with the real weapons) o.o He followed me around for like an hour and totally freaked me out. Then he acted like he just casually bumped into me in the artist alley. He started to talk about his katana again and asked if i wanted to go to his car to see it. After i said no he invites me to lunch (i said no) and just "magically" bumps into me the rest of the day.

I'm not sure if this classifies as creepy, but it scarred me for life. So it was my first anime convention (back in 2013) and I decided that I was going to cosplay as Maka from Soul Eater, and for a closet cosplay it was EXTREMELY close to canon. So I get into the convention and meet up with my friend Theo and we walk around for a bit, chatting with my friend Gabby (who was kind enough to tell me about the con in the first place, thanks hon!) while she was working in the dealers room before walking back out to the lobby and chatting with a few cosplayers (one of which I now recognize as God Tier Dave from Homestuck (didn't know Homestuck at the time xP)) when I heard a shriek from behind me and what felt like a warm boulder slamming into my back almost immediately after, nearly knocking me to the ground and knocking the air out of my lungs. My natural instincts kicked in and I started thrashing around and tried to scream, but the person had their arms around my throat and was making it hard for me to breathe. I was about the elbow the person in the ribs to get them off when I heard them shriek "Are you Maka?! We have a Soul in our group!" THAT was when Theo pulled the girl off of me and kept her away from me long enough for me to catch my breath and calm down, as I was shaking and on the verge of tears because of how badly she scared me. I did hang out with her and her group after calming down, but I kept my distance from her after that point. Let my experience be a lesson to convention newcomers... PLEASE ASK TO GLOMP/HUG/TAKE PICTURES/TAKE VIDEOS WITH US COSPLAYERS BEFORE YOU DO SO. It's normally not because we don't like meeting you, but we all come from different backgrounds and some of us have not had happy pasts, so doing something like a hug attack from behind could easily send someone into a panic attack or do something like damage our cosplays. So PLEASE be considerate and ask first!

UA Cosplay! Woah!! oh my god that's awful! D: Yeah i would be freaking out too if someone just came at me from behind! You should never glomp/hug someone without permission. it's just not acceptable. Thank you for sharing your story though! It was very interesting. :)

I've got one! So, when I was 15 I went to the cherry blossom festival in my town dressed as Sakura (Naruto), and u was watching a performer when this drunk (he smelled like it) man comes up to me. He starts talking about his "daughter" ( apparently he was kidding the entire time) looks a lot like me and starts calling for her. Then he starts talking about how I have to like the music he likes, and I start to feel a little threatened here cause he was a full grown man and I'm not the worlds strongest girl. The whole time I was looking around for someone to help me, and eventually a fellow cosplayer does. (thank you!) About 30 minutes later he comes up to me again and interrupts my conversation. At this point I was fed up and said I had to grab something and left the festival with my friends. Sorry for the long post ^.^

Last year I went to a comiccon with my mom and two friends. I was in my Sawsbuck Quadsuit and one of my friends was my pokemon trainer. Some creepy dude in a creepy moving mask and orange jumpsuit with a cigar started following us and my friend got freaked out and hid bhind me. He thought it was funny and was acting really creepy and wouldn't go away and followed us and kept bumping into us. I guess he didn't know when to stop. Don't be that guy who likes to creep out 14 year old girls at cons.

I'm lucky in that I have friends who look like they could out right murder someone and the only time I went to an event without them it was saint paddy's day and a guy approached me. He kept grabbing his crotch and so I ran for the hills

At my first convention, Valentines day weekend. I was 16 at the time.. I was dressed up as Sonohara from Durarara, and I had met some other drrr cosplayers that wanted to do a photo shoot. They were dressed as fem izaya and fem shizuo. (They were 18) Okay so we are almost finished our photo shoot, we've gotten a handful of good photos, and this Tuxedo mask cosplayer comes up and asks for photos. OF COURSE we are going to let him! why wouldn't we right? So we are all posing for him and all of a sudden he is like "Can I get some pictures with you?" Yes!! of course we are going to take pictures with him. He then proceeds pull roses out of his bag. and ask us to be his Valentine. and he wanted to take pictures of us kissing him and it was just really creepy because this man is atleast 25-26ish and it was just. I was SO uncomfortable and I didn't know how to react like what was appropriate. So I pretty much walked away and joined our photographer and let the other girls deal with it. I mean I feel bad for that but little 16 year old me was having none of that.

I wasn't at a con, but I was cosplaying Nyo! Aph America from hetalia, and I was at a meet up. My group of friends and I were walking down the street, and keep in mind at the time I was 15, these guys in DBZ came up to me, and started hitting on me. Once I got out of talking to him, him followed me around, and was being a real creeper. But, my friend who was in Germany cosplay (he was really freaking tall and intimidating) swooped in and saved me as fast as freedom about 20 mins. Into this guy following me and shiz.

I don't have a con creeper story, cause I've never been to a con, but I have had creepers over the internet. The worst was a man who I think was in his 30s, me being 17, and I had added him on my Facebook cause my sister was a mutual friend, so I thought it'd be fine. It wasn't. He didn't talk to me a lot, and when he did the extent of the talking was "How are you?" "How is everything" and it would end and we wouldn't talk to each other until a month of two later, so I was like okay, he's a nice guy, good since of humor from what I've seen on his FB page, nothing out of the ordinary, life goes on. Until one evening I'm sitting on my bed browsing my friends pages, chatting with my bestie over PM and laughing and stuff. And he sends me a message, it starts out as usual, "Hey, how are you?" "Whats up?" and I'm in a good mood so I'm just talking and not thinking anything of it so i'm like "Whatcha doing?" and he's like "Job" and he's from a different country and his English isn't good so I thought he meant he was working. But then he tells me he's touching himself and he thinks I'm sexy and he really wants pics of me. And I'm just like "um, you do know I'm 17?" and I send him a pic of me and bunny, thinking he'll see I'm just a kid. And he goes "Cute, now send be a breast selfie" And I told him no, Iwasn't the kind of girl to things like that. and he begs and says my face doesn't have to be in them so I don't have to worry about it getting all over the internet. I'm totally offended, cause I'm easily offended but you start thinking I'm someone who will send topless pics then you've just p*ssed me off. But I'm nice and tell him to stop asking and that he was making me uncomfortable and he apologized and I thought it was over with that. But then he starts begging again and my mom had to get involved be for he stopped and I told him if he talked to me again I'd block him. And then the morning after he told me he got hacked and I knew he wouldn't do that and I block his sorry @$$ :P I seem to attract the middle aged creepers cause he wasn't the first or the last but he was the only one that went that far...

This is a little retelling of an event that occurred at Indy Fur Con, 2014. Not holding anything against the con itself, I loved it. It is a furry convention. Emma, her mom, and I were at IFC 2015, standing around in the main convention area. A few times, even at different cons, we had seen this balding old man pushing around a cart full of little stuffed animals. We were in-suit at the time, just about to go to the headless lounge when this guy comes up to us. He proceeds to pull two stuffed rats out of his cart and starts “roleplaying” with us. We try to play along to avoid the situation getting any more awkward -- as if it could. This creep-o guy takes his rat and sets it in Emma’s mom’s purse, still trying to roleplay. It gets to the point where this guy puts the toy rats IN OUR MUZZLES. Honestly, that was the bottom line, so Emma’s mom makes an excuse to leave and we hightail it outta there. *sigh* This is why the media (and a lot of people in general) hate furries.

I never have any creeper experience, BUT I heard of some. Honestly though, creepers are kinda unheard of in Singapore's cons. I'm not saying there isn't any creeper, but it's quite rare.

a juriya cosplayer from naruto followed me around all day at my local convention once and i wasn't even dressed in a naruto cosplay, and this guy just screams creeper no matter how you look at him, and he was like late 20's probably like 27 and i was only 16 at the time and he kept pestering me for my number so i didn't get to do much at the con that day cause i was hiding from him.

I remember my friend and i were waiting around the dealers room entrance to hear when a concert was going to be announced and where the line would be, so we're talking to this one guy just like "did you hear the announcement no not yet should be soon" and small talk. And he asked if we were going to the party/rave that night and we were like no we'll be gone by then and for maybe 10 minutes he kept trying to convince us to go even though we werent old enough.

I don’t know if you want to call this a creeper but I went to Animinneapolis this year and I went with my friends Jojo, Marco, Alexa, and Jackie. We went as Vocaloids on day one I was Rin Marco was Len, Jackie was Luka Alexa Was Miku and and Jojo was Teto we had so much fun until a girl came up to Marco and tried to kiss him. He was trying to get the girl away from him and so were we. The girl then pushed me to the floor and started to scream at me. My friends helped me up and a bunch of people were trying to get security it was bad. Moral of the story is don’t be that person that ruins everybody’s experience at their first con

One time I was ONLY 11 this time and my parents let me alone at a convention. It was the end of the day and my friends were gone. There were only a few remaining groups. Eventually this cosplayer that was the Undertaker. He started to follow me around and I was in a school girl outfit this time. He kept following me around and eventually he eventually tried to get up my skirt. Thank god I had shorts underneath cause no one wanna see my underwear lmao. But anywho he brushed his hand near my vagina. And I started to get really freaked out. I started fast walking faster and faster and he still followed me around. I eventually came around these Sailor Moon group cosplayers they were like 18-25 year old girls. I asked if I could hang with them for awhile until my parents came. They said yes once I told them the story. And a Salior Venus left a bit to go to report about my incident. So yea it was so scary :')

+alex Moon Yeah, It happens a lot. I've heard of a couple from men too actually. But I think it tends to happen with people who are alone or with a friend. Honestly we have only had a couple problems which were never major. Another reason why we like groups!~ Thanks for you comment.
