Hi Mr. Hany. Is there any other way to creaate cost control system without using the activities from Project Schedule. what if our planning department is not very organized adn we dont have any data bank for productivity/ standard man hours, our estimation department is not up to the mark. I am now working as control control engineer and have 5 years experience as planning engineer. How should i start implementing cost control

To be honest with you, most of the companies are doing the cost control without linking it to the schedule. They just wait until the activity is finished then they can say if the activity above or below budget. But this approach is a reactive approach, we need to take a step further to create a proactive approach to find the problem before it became a disaster. Furthermore, you cannot do the cash in and cash out without linking the cost control to the schedule.

@@PlanningengineerNet only question in my mind that can we apply Rolling budget for evaluating the balance budget of any project or this doesn't give you accuracy of cost and profit etc of ur project.
