Happy New Year!!! I miss you guys 💖🙌🏼 Hope you like this video! EDIT: Just want to clarify that this is a video about how much I spend per day NOT month! All of the bills are divided by 30 days.

Living in NYC is HARD! I am college student who also has 2 part time jobs while still living with my parents, it is HARD! I have no choice but, to eat out every day because I am out most of the day. Even if I were to pack a lunch, I still have to eat out because I don't get home until 9pm or even sometimes 11pm. I can't imagine your struggles. Lol!

Total expense 132.32 x 30 = 3969.6 Round that to 4000K per month. 4000 x 12 = $48000 expense of a year. Now that is a bare minimum expense for you which just includes food and stay. I guess you are earning anywhere near to 200000 $ or probably more considering the taxes and other splurging you indulge in.

In midtown Manhattan! I split the cost with my boyfriend so we each pay $2850/month! It’s a 1500sq foot 2 bedroom apartment in a luxury building. It sounds insane but it’s actually the cheapest rent we found for this size. Other buildings run for $7000+ for what he have now 😭

I just stumbled across your videos and so far I love them! However, I found this video really unrelatable. To spend that much money a day just sounds ridiculous to me, I always thought that only really rich people spent this much money on a daily basis. I understand that New York is one of the most expensive places to live in the world, however in my countries‘ capital city Berlin you can easily live in a nice apartment and spend around 1,000 $ at maximum per person. I have only around 1,000 $ per month for everything including food, rent, shopping, insurances and so on. I also live in a rather big flat in one of Germany’s bigger cities... And this is considered a good middleclass lifestyle here, especially for young people. I wonder just how can you afford this lifestyle with all of the traveling? Sorry if this a dumb question, it just amazes and surprises me to hear about your living costs and I couldn’t find a video explaining what you do for a living! Anyway, greetings from Germany and have a wonderful day :)

As someone who has lived in Manhattan for a while now, I really can't stand all of these "how much does it cost to live in NYC" videos. Like me, you probably aren't a youtuber with some kind of vague digital nomad co-working space job, and you don't care if your place looks good for Instagram. So you work in an office doing a boring job that pays salary and benefits. Your place doesn't have floor to ceiling windows and white marble countertops. But you don't care because you're a normal person. You buy your groceries, cook, do dishes, take the subway (which doesn't cost $2.75 a ride when you likely have a pre-tax 365 day unlimited through your work), bring your coffee in a travel mug like a normal person. This lifestyle, even in NYC, costs a fraction of what these people spend. It's not glamorous, but you probably don't care about that, and neither do I.
