Can I just say, you are so amazing for thinking of options for your father-in-law. As someone who also has medical dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease), having people think/try to accommodate me, means the world to me. I don’t ever expect it, but it has often brought tears to my eyes. You are so wonderful for being so thoughtful. ❤

My closest friend has coeliac. I was shopping last week and gluten free pasta was on sale, so I picked up half a dozen bags for her. I always do this because the gluten free stuff is so expensive, and she only has a part time job and two kids. I can't eat sugar because it triggers my auto immune issues, so she does the same for me if she sees something that I use on a regular basis that is otherwise expensive, but the sugar free options aren't nearly as expensive as the gluten free options.

I live in the stix with access to only a Food Lion , Dollar General and Family Dollar. Oh and a locally owned grocery store called Elba. Elba is my go to for meat!!! They have an actual butcher and the prices are phenomenal!! If I want ALDIs, Lidal or Walmart I have to travel 45 miles. I’m guessing $250???? Thanks for the Chandler Bing clip!!! Christine you can easily make almond milk at home - I never buy almond or oat milk - it's so easy - soak 1 cup almonds overnight, rinse and then blend with 3 cups of water - put it through a nut milk bag - keeps for 7 days in the fridge in a jar - just shake it before use. Oat milk is even easier no soaking just blend 1 cup of oats with 3 cups of water - put through a nut milk bag and again into a jar for up to 7 days in the fridge. Tastes amazing nothing like store bought

I am a frequent Costco shopper. I guessed somewhere between $300-$350 on that cart. I could have been more accurate, but I wasn't sure about the snacks. After years of Costco shopping, I have a gut feeling when it is time to stop (for me that is around $250 these days). I also like your trick of buying the turkey and ham whole (not sliced). It is so much less expensive and better too.

I found out my in-laws will be in Utah for thanksgiving. It should be fun and it’s only two more people for dinner. I do enjoy trying to find foods I know are good for them. My father-in-law has diabetes. Kale and pumpkin are good fall ingredients so that’s convenient. And sweet potatoes. I’ll just reduce sugar in any recipe I can, and go low carb where possible. Of course we’ll get a couple Diet Pepsis and diet Dr Peppers for their visit. 😁

The only produce item I ever buy from Costco is when their big raspberry box goes on sale and I can get that big ol’ double-sized boi for $3-4 out of season. I usually grab two and freeze some or just eat it all because HECK YEAH (For context, our local grocery try stores sell small boxes for about $3-4, so it’s like double the amount for the same or sometimes a lesser price)

Shred up that bag of Zucchini and squash, add 1/4 cup of your seasoning mix and 1 box of Jiffy muffin mix for a great casserole. Use 1/2 of the liquid listed on the box directions. You'll need to use your hands to blend it all. It will seem dry and skimpy but don't worry. The cornbread mixture is a binder. For gardeners, it's 2 lbs of squashes . It's OK to use less squash: the recipe will come out more cakelike rather than like a pudding

So I have about 90,000 things to say lol I’ve been watching your channel for a while. And I am feeling just like you currently. Although I knew my parents were coming to visit me in Florida it still seems like an extra $300 in groceries. I don’t mind it’s fine. I did a big Costco hall a few weeks ago. And I’m so glad you bought that Parmesan cheese. I just have to say it’s 1000 times better than anything that comes in a box or a bag. Fun fact, if you put it in your fancy blender, it will make it powder and you will be able to put it in the freezer for later. Sometimes throwing money at the problem to make it go away is the best solution. Just for the record. My Costco is almost 40 minutes from me in traffic and just the other day I acquired a Sam’s Club membership for $20 that I am so excited to use. Have a great weekend!
