Nurgle should not have mountains as unsuitable. During the Cataclysm when Lizardmen and elves fought Chaos for the first time, it was the armies of Nurgle that destroyed dozens of Dwarf holds.

What was CA thinking" this is the question i ask myself in almost all campaigns i get into with but a few exceptions. But I really see CA struggle to get deamons to sort of balanced and consistent state. Khorne is fun but broken OP. Honourable mention - skulls- it is the only demon faction which has no problem with its resource from t1 to the end. Tzeench has his cheat tool to play with the AI and thats it. With reworked cults and autospread i think they can utilize them best from all deamons. Just 3 buildings thought- autospread---> give grimoars----> 80% cost reduction for changing ways-----> watch Franz no1 killing Elspeth no2. Nurgle rework isnt that great IMO, not at all. Obtaining infections is one thing, redundant and useless cults second, and in fact weaker plagues with the exception of kugath perhaps, where you just dont get a value from it as you did in old super plague, even when 2/4 of bonuses were irelevant, the rest 2 were such impactfull it can not be even compared.

Okay, let’s see. Cathay: Relatively boring race that lost some flavor with the initial rework, still has some annoying roster gaps needing filling too (Missile cav, melee hero, Necrotect-esque hero for the constructs). Nurgle: SLOW race, with poor climate suitability (no mountains when they all start near mountains? Really?), and a roster that, while much improved, is still probably the least fun to actually use in a battle. Also doesn’t help that they have a myriad of annoying bugs affecting them right now. High Elves: Calling them vanilla would be an understatement. They haven’t made the jump to Warhammer III especially gracefully, their mechanics are sinfully boring, and that’s that. Imrik is hard, but good, Alarielle’s mechanic is kind of annoying, Eltharion’s is currently bugged, Tyrion is solid but boring, and Teclis, well, he well earned his spot as one of the worst LLs in the game. Alith Anar is the only amazing one. Warriors of Chaos: Tall race (meaning they rely on specific major settlements for most everything), extremely overpowered race, and they, like Slaanesh, interact heavily with the not so great vassals mechanic. Only bright spot is the Warband Upgrades mechanic, which is good stuff. Wood Elves: The OTHER tall race, but this time with teleportation added into the mix, meaning they’re even more OP than WoC to some degree. Thanks to the Rituals of Rebirth, you can at least get some good fights in, but like WoC, you’re rarely in danger of losing a settlement, let alone the campaign, because of how defensible your settlements are. It’s also worth noting that like Nurgle, they are also suffering from some annoying bugs at the moment (Forest Spirit and Forest Stalker currently do not work). Am I missing anything major?

Me, I will miss the lizardmen but yes I love having to build something I don’t need for a research that actually matters as well as having my buildings take 5-6 turns to complete in a pleasant climate without a special commandment, very nice 👍

Just started the Sisters of Twilight campaign and it's awesome. Can't wait to try Cathay too (for better autoresolve just slide battle difficulty to easy, and after resolving go back to whatever it was, easy non issue). Also if you are not using Victory conditions overhaul, than you should if you think Vanilla victory conditions are what makes you not enjoy the faction.

I would be curious for your take on overhaul mods like SFO and whether that changes your appraisal of certain factions. Not sure I love all the balance changes/design decisions but I do love that they tried to give some interesting mechanics to each LL.

Yes warriors of Chaos is a busted faction but so are the dwarves and empire all totally awesome and fun campaigns wish all the campaigns had mechanics like them
