Malakai campaign is my favourite campaign by far. Dwarves have good auto resolve, and you armies can fight and win anything without being hard countered. That being said, I installed mods "fudging vassals" and "all diplomatic options". I started campaign using those while destroying and then vassalizing everyone as the Changeling. You have to manual most fights but as the campaign progresses your vassals are starting to do the heavy lifting.

Arbaal's campaign is one of those rare times where I had such a fun and snappy time that I achieved long victory without trying, or paying any attention to it. Arbaal can just keep rolling, rolling, rolling, and if you want you can do some regular gameplay on the side. It's just a great time if you want to go to Khorne Poundtown all over the map and not pay any attention to what the scrubs around you are doing, save very basic province holding so you can build units and so on. I ended up holding like two provinces and just doing challenges every turn, having so much money it never mattered whether I had anything like an economy. And honestly, there's something cathartic about the Khorne "Burn the world" playstyle of just getting a bloodhost going and letting it roll over the area, growing as it does, and burn itself out and leave ruins behind. Doesn't matter, I'm winning either way.

Tomb kings are my favourite race to play as. The army restrictions forces intelligent decisions and it has the right amount of progression where your armies slowly become more elite, which keeps the battles fresh. Least favourite is elspeth where you just annihilate everything with artillery and guns, with super boring vampires sieges early and then rifles killing lords at 250+ range later on

Tomb kings worked well in WH2 because WH2 had expensive supply lines which limited the ability for all races to yield multiple expensive/high tier armies. In WH3, supply lines are cheaper(WH2: 15% upkeep per army on legendary, WH3: 4% upkeep per army on legendary). This meant to had to think more about economics when building armies and the game was slower which allowed the AI time to build up strong armies. In WH3, the more spamy armies tend to dominate and even on legendary the game is a cake walk after 30-50 turns.

@lolcatjunior that's why tomb kings is good, the restrictions stop you roflstomping the entire map and there is actual decisions and challenge

@cr0mag732 They don't work well in WH3, they kind of suck. Also races used to confederate alot faster in WH2 whereas in WH3, it rarely happens. High elves, lizardmen, Skaven and Dark Elves used to dominate all the time.

@lolcatjunior you are simultaneously saying the game is a cake walk with most factions but TK isn't fun because they aren't strong enough. TK is good precisely because there is a reason to play past 30 turns. The best races are the least fun because of the low difficulty

Ogres are actually an interesting shout, I think we can glean a lot of what CA "intended" the pace to be from them. On turn 1 you can click "Ogre Throng" and see that it's one *midgame* tech that is 49 turns away, turn 50 is the "baseline." Maybe we could call that the start of the endgame, but rushing for that one tech leaves an entire screen of technologies untouched, I think it's a critical tech but it's 50 turns to even hit that transition. It's 18 turns to get a camp to max level just on the main encampment building, 20 starting from level 1, and another 6-8 turns to get the recruitment buildings at level 5, then you can start recruiting; It's turn 80 before the *first* fruits of that tech are borne. It's just too bad skrag is already beyond defeat on turn 30 b/c he's already got a gorger stack. So much of the game is just irrelevant because extreme aggression is the great weapon master of TWW: You can't not do it.

I found that lot of races that become much repetitive in the game can feel renewed with randomized starting locations, it not is very lore acurate, but on an Archeon campaing, I was sharing my starting province with dwarves and needed to rush a minor empire faction to gain power, and there was some random lizardmen in the region, and the blood hands, It was wild

I find it wild to say Ogre camps take too long to get to tier 5 when you have a camp 1 turn away from tier 5 on turn 18

Guy named no sieges mod If you don’t use it having some cav can break gates and you can focus on killing isolated units and capping to win.

Idk I havent had problems with sieges, I usually have a hero or two and I don't like doom stacks I like to set up armies like I used to for the historical games, so balanced between Inf Range and Cav. But for siege I'll have a decent number of lead Belchers and they are just sooooo fucking good it's crazy. And the siege battles go smooth, just use a tyrant to knock the wall

@@apetime9039 Leadbelchers are just ridiculous, yeah. Especially in sieges, where they can break buildings in seconds, and the enemies come in tight lines. They can also shoot down gates or walls without much issue. My ogre sieges tend to just be like four units of LBs sitting at the gates and grinding everything down into dust, then rolling forward and erasing anything that tries to come out to meet them.

Khorne can lose, WoC literally can have their entire campaign AFK in main settlements with the vassals.
