Its more or less based on one choice - stay or migrate If you follow most people advice - and migrate back south - he is pretty much kislev without the supporter race, you just play kingmaker and have solid array of unit buffs on things that are more beginner friendly than Ice Guard spam etc.

My favorite Dark Elves campaign is actually Rakarth. Having access to instant recruitment of any kind is awesome. You can defend a settlement by recruiting a lord and instantly putting 20 harpies/giant spiders/feral cold ones in the army. And the monsters help a lot against the Lizardmen's Saurus spam, especially if you get a mammoth. If you lose units inland out of Black Ark range, boom instant reinforcements after the battle.

Bro, Kairos is one of the most powerful legendary lords in the game. And I would argue that his campaign is one of the wealthiest among the chaos factions. I'm not sure where you're getting that they suck now. Kairos can solo armies on his own with his magic. Blue Fire of Tzeentch for like 3-4 winds of magic, spam that shit and you'll be grinning from ear to ear. I suggest giving it another shot.

Funny, I would say Skarsnik is the best greenskins campaign by far. The limitations of the 8 peaks thing, unusual start and reliance on goblins makes it a million times more interesting than Grimgor's campaign and it has an overall much better atmosphere. It's not always about what is easiest but what is a campaign that you don't forget the second you start another one.

Imrik and Boris as beginner/favored campaigns is a wild take, man. The modern 5.2+ AI buffs will generate unseen amounts of armies that need Legend tier cheese to beat. The one thing that makes Ostankya strong imo is her buff/debuff system. Although boring and cheesy, she has this debuff she can make to make a unit rampage the entire battle. If you put that on an enemy lord that is attacking your settlement, they bug out and roam where they spawn looking for a fight. This in turn makes some of their units hang back to protect them. Has saved my hide a bunch.

Hey, just wanted to leave my opinion, that doesnt mean that everything is bad, its just a few things i wanted to say For your information: You talk about Alberic having to go to his quest battle so far away... you can teleport for 500gold and it brings you back where you teleported from after the battle (and dont tell me you dont have 500 gold, you often get more back from the battle) Vampire Coast: truly not a great faction, but especially a beginner can have fun with noctilus (as i did near my start) and i still play him sometimes conquering Ulthuan early without much resistence (until you got like 2-3 of their provinces and the 2 gates on the east side, so you can deal with the bit more agression that comes from the legendary Factions), ive also learned that not only Aranessa is played by a few veterans but also Luthor, so from my perspective you couldve said more to the faction. Vampire Counts: you didnt mentioned a bad campaign And now to the things i Have a different view on: Dark elves: Morathi as Beginner friendly is crazy, i think she has the hardest part out of all after getting the first like 2-3 Provinces, with factions coming from south, east and north with a lot, whereever you go they wont stop soon. Cathay: i think Miao Ying is much more interesting than Zhao Ming, hes just chilling in the south doing normal campaign stuff nothing unique, no bastion to look out for, no new start like Yuan Bo... there is literally nothing Special Zhao Ming in my opinion (so its good for beginners to learn the basics, but for veterans not my choice). Orks: a lot actually like using Skarsnik, so i would definitly choose Azagh as the worst, no buffs for units you actually want to use later on, while his crown is nice Wurzagh just got better magic and his savage orcs get you through early better than Azaghs units buffs. Kislev: Tzarina Katarin was in my opinion the best, easiest and most fun Kislev campaign i had, so thats the obviously best choice for beginners for me. Boris can be difficult, Kostaltyn felt really weak to me and Ostankya often feels like something new, (so probably not for beginners but really strong if you like getting into it) Tzeentch: agreed with the Changeling, its fun once or twice but after that you realise thats nothing really cool about him (so its a fun thing for a beginner if hes already played a bit so he doesnt think thats normal)... but for Kairos, i actually rank his campaign to be one of the most fun, after you get your early game on the southern wastes done without oxyotl and teclis beating you up 1v2 (definitly requires 2+ armies) you can have so much fun with this guy (so not for beginners but veterans) Warriors of Chaos: as you already didnt like Tzeentch before, i kinda figured this would happen, i love Villitch actually, hes my most played Warriors of Chaos for a reason... for the worst id have choosen either Sigvald, Kholek or Festus (i dislike Slanesh and Nurgle Units so yea thats basically just the same reason you you dont like Villitch... for Kholek its just his starting position is not that nice, Villitch campaign is way more chill with you being the literall top right corner of the map expanding on the top edge while you just kill Miao Ying and trade that stuff (for money and defensive friends) to snikch or Lokhir and they shall do Tzeentches work for you, so that side is also safe, the first more open areas come when you get to like Kholek/Grimgor/Epedimius and that area was never a problem in my campaigns so far. Just a heads up at the end, you seem to know a lot of the game, just like everyone im just guessing you put your ours into other parts of it than for example me who didnt put much time in some factions compared to others (as everyone puts more time in what they like the most) thats the beauty everyone likes different stuff, this is not supposed to be hate, but another opinion for others to see and think about when the try what they think is their next cool campaign.

Some ideas -Vampire Coast artillery for Vampire counts to break walls and towers -Tomb Kings for anyone cuz they're free, especially undead can heal -Hawk Riders (early) and artillery(late) for Eltharion, ammo regenerates. -Revive Crystals for Rakarth, in a Black Ark full of beasts. He can have 2 arks by turn 10. Ally both Gor Rok and Tehenuin -Ziao Ming new Ogres -Norsca / Beastmen getting artillery from Skaven / Chorfs for walls towers Just an idea, I bet you could come up with some cool unique ideas

Dark Elves are one of my main races, just a couple details about Lokhir/Morathi. Morathi has a stronger settlement economy (bcs corruption) and a slower steadier expansion. Lokhir also has a good economy but that‘s bcs all of your troops are being shoved into black arks and have at least -50% upkeep, hope this helps :)

Karl Franz for a beginner? Maybe something changed but he was definetely one of the toughest campaigns, gelt on the other hand is extremely easy, you can spam mages from turn one and just go to the empire with 50K in the bank and no upkeep for 10 turns.

I'm kind of sad to see Tzeentch and especially Kairos rated so low. This might sound weird, but for me Kairos is one of my favorite lords, granted yes, his start is horrible if you're a newb. However, Kairos is so strong as a caster that he can single-handedly carry you to victory in the early game once he has enough levels. After you stabilize and get past the early game you reap the rewards of having one of the strongest chaos armies, with tons of durability due to barrier and super strong casters. I kind of wish his manipulation mechanics didn't cost so many grimoires though as it feels really fun to turn a bad situation in your favor by breaking up alliances or having factions declare war on each other. Yeah he's really hard early, and he's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I find him really fun, and wouldn't mind him getting some love.

People, especially Costin talk about Skarbrand being Khorne, the whole faction. And I agree with that from day one. I fought the most manual battles in my Skarbrand campaign, and 90% of that was Skarbrand soloing sieges. But in the same vein youre right, Kairos is also enough to carry your whole campaign, though he does need some cheerleaders. Both to have units on the ground (duh), and to make the real heavy hitters occupied who would clap his wings. His armies are exceptionally strong mid to lategame, Tzaangors and Centigors being outright op in pvp currently, too. Changebringers and the Mutalith are two incredible units which made Tzeentch one of the best to dunk the AI on with. But the shields, the magic capabilities, the tankiness that would put Nurgle to shame all form a faction with which you take basically no damage in battles with. (Id argue Ogres have the same strengths, I found their armies incredibly powerful when it was all Ogres) But where both fall flat is unfortunately the campaign map. Having cheat codes is neat, but the codexes often cost an arm and a wing. I still deeply enjoyed my Kairos campaign, but I'll also add it was in SFO and before SoC dlc. Not too much changes to Kairos himself at the time, but units do work differently (better, especially demons).

If you struggle with grimoires, I highly recommend engaging more with cults mechanic. It does cost time and money, but once you set it up you basically have infinite manipulations.

​@@Grivehnyou gotta build trickster cults and libraries, and in the trickster cults get the building that allows a 15% chance to spread on end turn. Before you know it you'll have hundreds of trickster cults, usually by endgame I'm getting 2-3K grimoires a turn.

For the liuzardmen I would recommend Mazdumundi, the problem with Krok-gar is you have a big dilemma trying to go north and south. The prophet of Sotek campaign is good, but takes a while to build up power. Oxyotl is a 'taster' faction - you get a fast paced game that at least for me ends fairly quick.

Kairos is one of the top 5 strongest in the whole game, his changing of the ways mechanic is literal hacks 😂 Has a slow start but snowballs into an unstoppable force and eventually gets unlimited winds of magic combined with one of the best magic schools (lore of tzeentch)

Surprised you did not mentioned Morghur for beastmen. IMO Great for beginners, as his a 1 man army in the early game with insane missile resist, mortis engine effect, and regen. Just send him up front and apply army when bored. His chaos spawn focus makes his campaign mechanics easy as well. Recommend 2 man hero goon squad to deal with his 1 weakness, armored mele experts (lords/heroes). PS: Be friendly with Ikit, he will keep Belegar and his hero army off your back.

teclis should be able to build a fourth tier outpost which allows him to recruit heroes from other factions, and allows his personal army the option to reinforce the city if it gets attacked, and a post battle option which teleports his army to that location. also he should have a red tree that isnt linked to specific unit types, and his army shouldn't have an allied unit cap. I would also go for a campaign mechanic that at a really expensive cost in aliance points would let you take control of an allied faction leaders army and bind one of the different winds of magic to them giving them some awesome magical abilities that last 10-20 turns, after which they are returned to their own faction

If I had the chance to improving each HE faction (They are more favourite after all) I would go with: -Let Tyrion roll around with the Phoenix Court mechanics as a way to make him unique, given his ties is directly to Finubar playing Eataine -Let Teclis definetly play around far more with his roll as one of the most powerful spellcasters in the known world and give him access to cataclysm spells or improve magic by the Tower of Hoeth. Beside what you already mentioned, he should also have access to Gotrek & Felix, just as a fun reference back to the days when the two helped him out on Albion -I really like Eltharion the Grim, so I wouldn't change too much about him beside maybe giving his lords access to Ladrielle bonus too, since Mistwalkers only really benefit Eltharion personally. Maybe extend the Mists of Yvresse beyond Ulthuan too. -Alarielle. Solid camapaign, but also give her access to Phoenix Court or Court of the Everqueen mechanic since she has in her role being one of the dual leaders of Ulthuan. -Imrik. No need to change much there, beside more dragons and stuff to improve. Maybe the Forge of Vaul mechanic? -Overall however: Have the HE better trade/influence mechanic and give them something more unique for diplomacy now that Yuan Bo took away their one unique mechanic from WH2.

Might add more, but Karl Franz as a beginner campaign is something CA gets memed on for, too :P Elspeth has an easier start, and is custom-tailored to beat down Vlad. Franz has the whole Empire to focus on, hell, even Bretonnia, because Grom and Kemmler both present more trouble for the Empire these days and theyre both on Reikland's doorstep. Elspeth has the luxury to only deal with the southern half of the Empire for a while. And she starts with a Helstorm. So does Gelt, but he is rather an easy campaign for veterans, with all the magic sheningans. Id even say Volkmar is an easy start for beginners, just against undead, demons, greenskins and maybe lizards who dont shoot much back at you. Not fun for a long campaign, but fort short, to control most of Southlands? Absolutely.

Recommending Aranessa also definitely feels special, when pretty much everyone has her in their 'top 3 least played Lords' list. Unironically though, her start might be the easiest indeed... Athel Loren and Belegar would be cancer to face, but other than that she's fine. The others gotta face dark elves, high elves and lizardmen mainly, none are easy with the slow, lumberous, useless zombie spam.

I genuinely don't understand why CA decided to put a janky Cav faction in the middle of the jungle...with trees...and high mass lizards with very pointy spears. I don't understand at all. He needs to be moved to Sartosa with Alberic vs Aranessa as the plot point. Move a really powerful legendary lord to Lustria and give the lizards a real challenge. I also disagree with your take on Teclis. His campaign is short but fighting Tzeentch is a pretty hard challenge especially on hard difficulties. Your take on Skarbrand is also...not good. It's a unique campaign and a unique way to play the game. There just needs to be different lords.

I’ve watched a good bit of your videos, and what’s crazy is more often than not I disagree with your takes. The dark elf worst campaigns either being Malus or Rakarth-to me is insane. Not sure how you don’t go Malekith or Hellebron but hey, everyone has their own opinions. I don’t think any of the Dawi campaigns are bad either. The Greenskin take is egregious. Skarsnik’s campaign being the worst? My brother, Grimgor’s campaign is the worst in that group. Practically skipping over Grom AND Wurzzag. One last thing. Lizardmen take at the beginning, that Oxyotl being the only one worth playing. Imo, they are all very worth playing and I find that they are the most diverse cast of lords out of any race. Anywho. I disagree with ranking Thorek so poorly. His relics are interesting, and the difference in emphasis when it comes to units make his campaign interesting. Personally, I think the worst is Karak Kadrin. There isn't really a bad campaign for the dwarfs, but Ungrim lacks unique factions effects and his start position is overly similar to thorgrim while having less avenues for expansion.

Honestly I feel like you have no idea what the vampire coast and the vampire counts are all about. Kemmler is by far the worst starting position, he is no fighter lord and only becomes strong later on when he gets to lvl 15-16. The easiest campaign vlad/isabella, yes. But vlad is way stronger. Ghorst is the second strongest i think, but it's a bit wonky to play him because zombies are....weirdly strong. feels kinda weird. For the vampire Coast needs a rework, yes. But Aranessa is by far the worst of them by FAR. probably the weakest lord in the game (or one of them). And also Noctillus is by far one of the strongest factions in the game. Campaign-wise they are all damn aweful. yes I agree. but none of the three actual vampire coast (the actual undead ones, which aranessa is not) are weak or that boring to play

For Vampirates, it's hard to say... As you said they are all just awful. Count Chocola is a spellcaster that can heal the undead, which is going to be useful for a new player to the race. His campaign start also allows you to basically go anywhere on the map, just note you start at war with the high elves which is not a good thing, as their archers outrange your guns, and will slaughter you. The guy with the fractured mind is probably the best campaign, simply because he is the best in combat being the only one with access to a flying mount. Ana has the best overall economy of them, which helps with the biggest flaw of the vampirates, economy. Ana is is not a fun LL though, and isnt even a vampire so wtf? As for the ghost lady, look she's super OP in combat, she's not even a backline caster, he's a literal front line tank, who is also casting damage spells, super OP. However her starting position is really bad, and her campaign just sucks. No matter what one you choose, get the mod that allows you to confederate defeated factions of your race. It will give you the LLs that have access to the pirate ship to reduce upkeep.
