Many people always confuse the cave scene, thinking that Manny is the baby and that they show us how he "lost his parents". But both the creators and the official biography of the film confirm that in that scene they show us how Manny lost his first family, his wife and his son (Manny was the father in those paintings).

I always understood it as Manny losing his family... I think it's because the father mammoth on the cave painting looked exactly like Manny or just gave off the vibe that's it's Manny. Never knew people interpreted that differently but I can see how.

It's been awhile since I saw Ice Age, but in Manny's backstory he was the father, the humans killed his wife and kid. The sequels are like the sequels to The Land Before Time; They're not as great as the 1st movie and they're not needed, but the kids will most likely still like them. Also, when Sid says *Sexy!* (not shown in the reaction, but it's in the movie) , that's the same answer I have for these beautiful ladies ;) =)

1. I always thought Manny was the calf but everybody’s always making theories bout who is who. 2. The only animals that form packs are really dogs, wolves, coyotes, and dingos. But, ay, what do I know? 3. Sodo knew that teamwork was the tool to killing a mammoth but five tigers wouldn’t be enough to kill one. There were rare occasions where it would really take 30 lions just to kill a full grown elephant. 4. I’m actually surprised Laura and Trixy knew Magy wouldn’t survive in the wild. I mean, if she really wouldn’t last even one day, clearly she needs someone to teach her. Fortunately, Ellie, Moon Sugar, Viki, and I can teach her how to survive in the wild. How to make a fire, how to hunt, how to fish, shit like that. I know Ellie, Moon Sugar, and Viki are herbivores so they can just gather herbs, veggies, and fruits, but is Magy an herbivore? I also wonder if Laura lived in the wild for a time like Viki did. Also, you wouldn’t need a shower in the wild. People always bathed in rivers and lakes. Not to mention the rain on occasion would really make a good and interesting life hack for a shower. And, one thing I learned in Up was people and animals would sometimes dig a hole to shit in (just bringing it up cuz Laura did, also unpleasant to speak bout but it has to be mentioned) and when they got finished, they’d just bury that literal shit like pirates burying treasure. Really funny technique but it also helped out a lot for living in the wild. Hopefully, Ellie, Moon Sugar, and Viki know a few more tips. Maybe even Laura might. 5. I know Laura was tryna roast Magy but I don’t see how Magy is really like Sid, let alone looks like Sid. 6. I don’t ever remember there being gangs of tigers before. The only time tigers hunted together or fought together in the wild was if it was a family, usually a mother of two or more cubs on the verge of adulthood or it would just those cubs themselves, still on the verge of adulthood. 6. I never really saw the Star Trek reference till I was told bout it. 7. I never really saw Magy cry in this. All she showed was she was sticking her fingers in her eye sockets like Moon Sugar does whenever SHE cries. As for Trixy and Laura, you could definitely tell that THEY were crying. 8. The scene where the kid wouldn’t stop crying till the dodos came now gets me curious bout something. Whenever Ellie and Viki kept crying, I wonder if anyone else in the Homies was just as annoyed bout the constant sobbing as Moon Sugar was when Ellie was crying during Shrek or as Larry was sometimes annoyed by Ellie’s crying as well. 9. I never really got the joke where Diego called Manny and Sid an odd couple till just recently. I realized at that moment that it was a gay joke. As well as the moment just afterwards where Diego said Manny and Sid couldn’t afford one of their own so they wanted to adopt. I guess it was difficult for kids to get those jokes which must’ve been why people put jokes like these in kids movies.

This movie is so amazing, especially two things I like the most: First: Manny is such an incredible character: humans killed his wife and his child and he still brings a human child back to the father, just fantastic! And second: when the father gives the necklace of his wife to Manny. He gives the only thing that reminds him of his wife to the one who has brought him the most important. I don't know, but even as a kid I always found these two facts magical and just wonderful! But one thing makes me really sad, everytime I'm thinking about it (little SPOILER for the next movies): Manny won't wear the necklace in the other movies :( If he would, that would make my second favourite scene much more heartwarming!!

I am so glad you are reacting to the film series. It was one of the most memorable films of my childhood. Mannys flashback with his family is always such a tearjerker. And the comedy with all three of them trying to keep an eye on the baby reminds me so much of another film that I highly recommend for you to react called Baby’s Day Out. ❄️🦣🦤

I just rewatched the movie after a very long time and first time realizing when manny at the beginning of the movie says he dislikes things that kill for pleasure and how that connects to the cave scene at the end. Although it may more than likely be the case the hunters were part of a tribe requiring food and resources… it makes that scene far darker if they didn’t…

I'd like to suggest a movie. i looked through your catalog of movies and I see you're not a big horror movie fan (except during Halloween), but I'd like to suggest a movie I just watched (3 times). "Smile" is excellent It has jump scares out the wazoo, but that's not all. Sosie Bacon's performance is award worthy. You'd think she's _REALLY_ been traumatized by looking at her face. Also, if you've ever experienced vertigo, you'll know what I mean when I say a couple of the camera shots will make you feel like you're fallin _UP_ .☝😵‍💫 It's _AWESOME!!!_
