Or at the very least, can you tell me if the nutritional yeast is there for flavor, texture, or both?

Collard Greens and corn bread, that is low country right there, like SC or Georgia and Alabama, but you dont sound so southern. Im from Jersey originally and spent many trips to SC (Family on Sullivans Isle-Charleston), through Georgia and lived in Florida too and had me many a Po Boy sandwich, fried chicken and waffles and biscuits and gravy, which the last is my favorite. Been vegan for about 8 years now and love Jackfruit for bbq pulled pork, crab cakes, chicken salad and now these ribs looks easy and yum. So thank you for the recipe. Question for you sweety, how long in the oven the first time around and what temp do you feel is good? Also, the grape jelly, new to me, does it give it a specific taste or just sweetness? Going to maybe do an Xmas meal of these ribs and fried chicken both with Jackfruit :) I use Native Forest Young Jackfruit, seems the best for me from other brands, always fresh, moist and mostly soft and easy to shred without cooking like you did. Its in water and lime juice, so maybe thats why, not sure, great product though. I get it online from Walmart for about $3.60 a can, its all organic, non gmo, sustainable and all that jive. Love to all. Love Chris Ps... If you never tried this do this as its how I shred my jackfruit with east. On a cutting board and a fork or your fingers in one hand and knife n the other, hold the jackfruit at its natural flow of the fruit and slice as if cutting other veggies up. You should be able to quickly see the way the grain flows to easily break away and do so.
@CottonCreations4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! I'm originally from Maryland. But I feel like Collard greens and cornbread are staples in most Black families. Even in Los Angeles. I put it on 375 or 400 degrees. You can find the link to the recipe in the description box so you can download it and print or save it for later. The grape jelly adds some sweetness but also gives it a slightly different taste. Both of my parents do this when preparing things like BBQ meatballs. I use the same method to shred my jackfruit. Thanks for watching! ❤️🙏🏾
@ChristopherSchiffermiller4 жыл бұрын
@@CottonCreations Hi, thanks for the reply. I did the ribs a bit different, but they came out great and like yours, just wasnt into the two new bbq sauces I bought. The texture, the ease and such was great and the fried chicken jackfruit nuggets I made were awesome and easy too. BBQ meatballs sound great, I had fried meatballs a few times and since my one side is Italian, mostly that style. Have a great new year and health. Love Chris

You may have to add a little more flour to help hold them together. I would also bake them first (75 min) to dry them out some the day before. Then let them chill in the ridge and then put them on the grill. If you decide to try it let me know how they turn out.

Do you ever have an issue where your ribs just won't stick together? I tried your recipe tonight and followed it very closely but the ribs completely fell apart. They just didn't stick at all. Any suggestions?
@CottonCreations4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your feedback on this recipe. How long did you bake them? I find that baking them longer helps. Everyone's ovens are different so cook times can vary. I prepare to let mine stay in until a lot of the liquid has dried out. I also find that waiting until they are cool before cutting then helps as well. You could add a little more flour as well. Just know a few others have shared your same experience, so I'm working on a 2.0 of this recipe to ensure everyone's ribs are consistent with mine.
@angelmasonbroadus4 жыл бұрын
@@CottonCreations Thank you for the suggestions. I probably didn't bake them long enough. They were so tasty though. We still ate them like "pulled pork". I definitely will be trying the recipe again and baking a little longer and maybe adding a little more flour. YUMMY! Thanks again.
