I made this yesterday and me and my mon were floored at how much it tasted like traditional beef stew!!!! The Epis was new to me but very delicious ...I use all those ingredients, just never thought to use them in that way. FIVE STARS! I made a lot and it did not last.lol

Wow….I am soooo happy to hear this as I’m literally testing out new recipes to share. It’s one of our faves in the house and it’s all about the seasoning for sure. People don’t realize how good vegan food can be with great seasoning! If you like this I feel you will really love the comfort cauliflower bowl I made with potatoes and curry [episode titled What I Eat in a Week (not the San Diego one)]. I made this and I didn't exactly have all of the ingredients (I used mushrooms instead of carrots and I added red beans for protein), however...this is soooo good. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I look forward to you sharing more. I am having mine with fufu (cassava), but I like rice and plantains. In fact, I will try it with plantains next time. Thank you again.

I just made it and it's delicious! I had to improvise because I realized I didn't have brown sauce. The substitute still helped but I will make sure to have the brown sauce next time. Thanks for sharing this lovely recipe. 🥰

That really does look like beef stew. Great job Doc. Jackfruit is a chameleon fruit for vegans because we can season and cook it to resemble beef, chicken, fish or pork etc and it really does taste good. I bought a can of green Jack fruit without knowing what it was 😂 if I see exotic fruit I can’t help myself, I have to try it. I took one bite and didnt like it, because I was expecting it to be sweet. Now I need a good recipe to cook it. This video has definitely inspired me to try using it as a meat substitute in one of the Jamaican recipes I’ve been working on, like ox tail or curry goat. The second you said “all spice” the gears started turning ⚙️ 🤔

This allows the jackfruit to better absorb the flavors of the marinade (epis seasoning). I’ve done it before without leaving it in the fridge for an hour and it was still good.

You definitely can…I don’t the have the cooking instructions for that but similar to a beef stew, as it slow cooks in the instapot, the flavors infuse and it tastes great!
