@@maximoomega3691the problem with metal is how the fuck would they make him work with eggman dead. we don't know if Jim Carey is coming back or not. also metal sonic doesn't speak. he only spoke in one game, sonic heroes. if I remember correctly, he only spoke in his neo form. basic metal sonic wouldn't work well. I dont see the problem with shadow. just make it so he brakes out on his own, or stone broke him out. also make the fbi or military kill maria.

@@maximoomega3691 I do actually agree that doing Shadow first instead of Metal Sonic is a big risk, however, I do think there was build-up. I think the Wedding Scene was meant to be the build-up to it, as soon as I saw Sonic and Tails being escorted away by GUN soldiers in their cages, I saw this as them teasing an SA2 adaptation, setting up GUN hunting Sonic down and trying to understand his power so that when the SA2 movie happens, they're already established as enemies of Sonic. But like I said I do think doing this was a big risk because I'm honestly kind of afraid that Sonic 3 is going to end up like Spider-Man 3 where it tries to introduce too many characters and feels overstuffed because of it. I mean, imagine Amy, Rouge, and Shadow all being introduced in this movie, I think that would be too much at once. Even though I loved Spider-Man 3, I still can't deny that they would've been better off removing the symbiote from the movie entirely, and just having the movie focus on Sandman, Harry, and Peter's relationship problems with MJ, but of course studio interference from Sony didn't allow the director to do so. Having the third movie be based off of Sonic CD, and introducing Metal Sonic and Amy would've been a much safer bet so that Amy's introduction is already out of the way, and that leaves much more room for Shadow and Rouge to be introduced in Sonic 4.

@@BillDozer yeah. Shadow has no existing context in the films universe. Tails and knuckles are self-explanatory but Shadow isn't a straight character. His backstory is complex and in some cases is hard to get right and for the film universe to bring him into a movie they'll have to change some parts of his backstory to coexist with this iteration of Sonic His pals, and the cannon.

His looming presence in the movie would be enough to speak for him his menacing nature makes up for his non-ability to talk. Sonic speaks through words and funny quips and emotes, metal Sonic speaks through actions that's what makes metal Sonic the character he is. As for Jim Carrey I think he most definitely will come back he said that he might step out of the shadows a couple of times to fill in rolls for certain movies. The third Sonic movie wouldn't be the movie it could be without him. And they can easily retcon his death by making him like a cyborg or something or having him upload his mind into a humanoid robotic body that's exactly what robotnik did in the comics why couldn't it work in the movies?

Maybe for Knuxs tv show, it could show more Echidnas backstory or actually reveal some of them that actually survive. Reason why is cuz tbh, I'm still in disbelief Longclaw killed all the echidnas. There had to be a few echidnas that survived through the battle and travel other dimensions to find clues of finding the Master Emarld or something tho. Maybe have a tv show of them and maybe even tease Chaos tho. Also would be cool if the Longclaw race got their own TV show and maybe tease Team Babylon since fun fact when Sonic was in the temple to get the compass from switching the types, those types are rip from Zero Gravity. And ya tv show of Team GUN (Shadow, Rouge, n Omega) would be cool along with Team Chaotix, Eggman Origins, and Silver/Blaze adventures.

Realistically, the answer is “sure”. Another realistic answer however is “How long tho”. People don’t forget that a video game movie’s success, let alone a _Sonic_ movie success was so unorthodox and unexpected, especially gauging the reactions from 2019 to 2020. Now that companies are learning how lucrative video game films can be now, they’ll jump at the opportunities. See Nintendo with Mario. People are memeing the cast, but remember there was a time where people were memeing the Sonic movie cast especially back in 2019 “Jim Carey as Dr. Eggman? Lmao so cringey”. But look now. Because the movies were at least _Decent_ that’s not the case. Or Detective Pikachu. Another video game movie, but it was at least decent, therefore successful. All it takes for other game films to compete with Sonic or even _Overshadow_ Sonic is to be _At Least_ Decent or _Better._ And that’s simply determined by how much competence and effort studios want to put in for those films.

Let’s not forget that Mario is a much bigger name worldwide that people love. Sonic isn’t that big in Japan, which Frontiers is trying to gain traction for. Passionate numbers aside, Mario just have larger numbers in general overall than whatever Sonic can do. That’s just facts if we’re going with history.

Idea for Tails movie: So you say that sidekicks can’t carry their own show or movie. Well what if we explore before they became sidekicks. In the second Sonic movie Tails explains how he was bullied for having two Tails. What if the movie explores this even further into this Since he wouldn’t have Sonic he is not yet a sidekick. It would very emotional and the end of the Movie would have him discover Sonic and going off to find him Throughout the movie he helps the town with his inventions and meets more people like him there could be one guy who is like “just hide your Tails from the world” so that people wouldn’t be like “hey I thought the other guy taught him being weird ain’t so bad” This would work better as a movie as Tails origin story. I have always wanted to se something like this for Tails and the Sonic origins cutscene is the best I got.

Given the amount of lore and stories you could adapt, I think a Sonic cinematic universe has some great potential. Nothing on the level of the MCU but if they did want to achieve that, it would take years of careful planning, even then, they might not be able to pull it off. If they did, that would be phenomenal. If they didn’t, that would be fine as long as there’s the quality of the first two films remained consistent.

If you run out of ideas and story's just create more and make sure they work and are original. Hell we could finally see villains like mephiles return as like the big bad of the franchise. Honestly Mephiles is the most threatening villain of the sonic series and he should be like the "thanos" of the SCU if it were to happen.

Sliver from the future series( I'd personally love this one ) . Blaze from the other dimensions are probably the best ideas but there is a LOT more you could do. It most definitely can work. There is more then enough lore.

For a Sonic Cinematic Universe to work it would have to do these things. 1. Don't get greedy - MCU's biggest mistake was turning there superhero movies into products. Don't think about the story or the continuity, just consume product and move on to next product. We all know SEGA will milk the success of something till we are sick of it, but Paramount should be smart about this going forward and not pump out too much at once or people will get drained of it. 2. Evolve - While the 2nd Sonic movie was better than the first, it was still following the childish pop culture referencing, toilet humour gags as the first, even when we were all speculating that the 2nd movie would embrace the badass tones that the games had now that they had a guaranteed hit. With Shadow in the 3rd movie, the worst thing they can do is wuss out on the darker more mature aspects that Sonic is capable of and just settle for the same old shtick. 3. Don't go WOKE - One of the most crippling things to happen to the entertainment industry is going woke. As soon as Sonic becomes a platform to talk about 2020's social, cultural, political issues, that potential money will get pissed up the wall. Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr Who, and of course the MCU are proof that putting Far Left Ideology into a franchise will kill it in a matter of years no matter how long its gone on for. and most importantly... 4. Have a clear vision - After the Infinity Saga and the Star Wars Sequel trilogy, Disney/Marvel have been zombie walking into trying to find out what do do with their properties since they ran them into the ground with no clear direction. Sonic has such a rich cast of characters, locations, and stories that they can adapt from (up until 2009 of course). They could very well bring back Silver, Blaze, Cream, Big, The Chaotix, Rogue & Omega, but they need to know what they want with these characters or we will get the movie equivalent of Sonic Forces where they just arse around while Sonic does everything. Follow these steps and a Sonic Cinematic universe will carry the Sonic fandom and maybe even entertainment industry for the rest of the decade.

Now the thing with Blaze is that I would give her the treatment of starting from a movie and then have her own show to build up her development. And I would have her character and story be accurate from the Sonic Rush storyline because it LITERALLY introduced her own lore and even her emeralds (Sol Emeralds). Sonic 06' just didn't give her enough fluidity as a character in that story to make me care, but the Rush games did.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a whole show about Big the Cat just trying to go fishing with his friend, but some cartoony shenanigans keep him from being able to most of the time. It could be a pretty good comedic show more for the younger fans, with short episodes about Big regularly losing track of Froggy, or he loses his fishing pole, or what have you. I could imagine an episode where Big travels to what he hears is the best fishing spot in the world, but once he gets there, he sees it's all dried up thanks to a dam, probably built by Robotnik, and has to figure out a way to bring water back to the land, trying things like a rain dance or manually carrying buckets of water to the spot. All so he can immediately take a seat after he finds a solution and start fishing with his best friend by his side.

There could be one where Cream is the founder of Chao, this whole back story to how Big is just a descendant of god power but he just doesn't care since he only likes fishing, or maybe in the Knuckles spinoff, they could "Obi Wan" Tikal, so even though she's still dead, her ghost is just there talking with the others. I've seen it a lot it comedy anime so I think it could work. The MCU is so bad now, this could have more potential.

I think they should split the film series into trilogies. The first trilogy could introduce the most popular characters like Tails, knuckles, Shadow, and Amy. Then the 2nd trilogy could expand the previous characters while adding some of the secondary cast like Rouge, Omega, Silver, and Blaze. With the 3rd focusing on more obscure stuff. All of the trilogies would have spinoff does and films focusing on characters other than Sonic. Trilogy 1 would contain Sonic 1, Sonic 2, knuckles show, Sonic 3, and Shadow movie for example

A Subfranchise I would want to see is Blaze in the Sol Dimension. They could do it to explain her backstory, the sol gems, Eggman Nega, and lead it up to Sonic Rush. Knuckles would be a good fit as well. I think if they centered a series around him (Ideally Knuckles' Chaotix, elements of Knuckles story that were left out in Sonic 3, and stuff that could lead to Sonic Adventure).

i feel like the only way these characters could be extended into a cinematic universe is through solo or combined tv shows. i really don't think that there is enough substance in any of the sonic characters for an entire full-fledged movie without it having to completely rely on sonic as a character as the selling point, except for maybe shadow.

I've had discussions about this a few days before Sonic Movie 2 came out, as well as after leaving the theater from seeing the movie with my sister. I really do think that there is enough lore in the Sonic games to keep doing Movies and Spin-Offs throughout the next 10 years, to have a 3 Phase Cinematic Universe. Just to throw some of my ideas out there real quick, because you definitely don't have time to read all of them in full detail: More Sonic Movies. Amy Rose could have a 3 Season series, let me explain this one. Season 1 would be based off of Amy's story from SA1. Regardless of if SA1 gets adapted or not, this storyline can remain self-contained and still happen without the other events of SA1 happening. Season 2 would be based off of Sonic Battle and Sonic Advance 3 where Emerl and Cream are introduced and in the end Emerl becomes friends with Cream. Season 3 could basically act as an epilogue to a movie based off of Sonic Unleashed similar to how WandaVision was an epilogue of Endgame, showing more of Wanda's trauma and what she did after Endgame. I think games like Sonic Heroes, Riders, and the Storybook Games could be adapted as Spin-Off shows instead of movies. A Sonic Rush movie should definitely happen at some point in order to introduce Blaze, and have Multi-Dimensional travel be introduced, which is actually how the Storybook Games would be able to happen in the Cinematic Universe. I'd also love for them to do a Sonic 06 movie, it would be awesome to see all 4 hedgehogs on the big screen, and they would be able to fix the problems that people didn't like about 06's story such as the Sonic and Elise romance and Elise not being allowed to cry. But I also think that if they were to do 06, that game had so much going on in it, that they might be better off doing 2 movies based off of 06 in order to avoid it feeling too overstuffed like Spider-Man 3. (Even though I love Spider-Man 3) I'm 100% willing to bet money on the idea of Shadow getting his own movie after Sonic 3 and that his solo film would also lead to a Team Dark Spin-Off series. Team Chaotix could get their own show. I think a movie based off of Unleashed should be the final movie of the saga. I love the idea of Unleashed being the finale of it all, and the 3rd Season of Amy's series being a cherry on top to wrap it all up. It's basically what it would've been like if Endgame was actually the end of the MCU, and WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and more Spider-Man movies still happened as epilogues that show the aftermath of Endgame.

Also, Here's my hopeful similarities to future live-action Sonic movies: 1. For a future live-action Knuckles' Chaotix movie's hopeful similarities: Ryan Reynolds' Detective Pikachu and 2020's SCOOB! . 2. For a future live-action Shadow The Hedgehog movie's hopeful similarities: The Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Logan, John Wick and Cyberpunk 2077 (Despite that I wanted a future live-action Shadow The Hedgehog movie to be similar to the 4 R-Rated movies and 1 M-Rated action-adventure video-game, I want a future live-action Shadow The Hedgehog to be rated PG-13). 3. For a future live-action Sonic Riders trilogy's hopeful similarities: The Fast and The Furious and Need For Speed. 4. For a future live-action Sonic Forces movie's hopeful similarities: Call of Duty, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

I love this franchise and I would happily watch 20 different characters solo films if they were made, but the sidekick characters just do not have the appeal and marketability as Sonic the Hedgehog does. I think you could absolutely pull off an Eggman and Stone spinoff film (maybe Orbot and Cubot too getting into some mischief) if Jim Carrey was Eggman again, but he seems like he may be calling it a career. At first I thought Shadow could work on his own too, but I feel like a (as an example) Robert Pattinson Shadow movie working through past trauma and sense of identity after the tragic death of his best friend isn't going to attract the same audience as the kids that are going to see Sonic 2 movie to watch Sonic dance to Uptown Funk and floss. I like the Chaotix idea as a concept as it would fit with the lighthearted take of the franchise but, again, people don't know these characters and it's hard to make a great majority of an audience get emotionally invested in 3-5 brand new characters in a mainline Sonic movie that would probably an hour and 45 minutes total and already include Tails, Knuckles etc. Not to mention we don't even know how good the Knuckles TV show will be and I have my doubts about that, as its going to be on a Paramount Plus TV budget and likely not feature a lot of Sonic, which I think does matter as Ben Schwartz really breathes the life in this franchise. I think Sega has done a huge disservice to the franchise by creating new characters every couple of years, using them in like 1 other game and a couple cameos in others, and not fleshing them out. Nintendo, Sony, Riot, and even Blizzard are all in a better shape to create successful cinematic universes than Sega does I hate to say.

you know, once we run out of cannon game stories to tell within the SCU, we could incorperate maybe some comic villains in there. although im not sure if that would count as video game movies anymore. also if they include blaze into the SCU please PLEASE use the rush interpretation of her, with blaze being a princess from a different dimension (or it being another planet) that includes the sol emeralds and marine. having silver be from this sol dimension instead of from the future would make his arc SO much simpler. seriously blazes sol kingdom is NEVER explored in the games and has way too much potential to pass up.

I literally made a concept of about 10 phases of a sonic cinematic universe. Yeah, i ended up with 10 sonic movies, 4 silver movies, 3 seasons of a knuckles show and a shadow show, 2 seasons of a chaotix show and a rouge show, An agent stone movie, and blaze show (a limited series) Yeah, it’s gonna be crazy

They should definitely do a SEGA Cinematic Universe instead, only sonic wouldn't be enough and if they did, they would really only make movies for a handful of characters like Tails, Knuckles, Shadow or other notable characters, because other characters are very unknown to the public

A SEGA Cinematic Universe wouldn't work. SEGA has destroyed their image significantly in the last 20 years that most of their franchises are forgotten. Honestly, Sonic would fit much better in a Nintendo Cinematic Universe. Unlike SEGA, a lot of Nintendo's franchises are still well known today, and I know Sonic is not owned by Nintendo, but he basically works for them.

A tv show simply called Freedom Fighters or Mobius, at it's most basic furries fighting badniks or Dark Arms or something that's trying to take over their planet or they are trying to take it back, Personally I'd make Amy the main character, A hero and team leader who's inspired by tales of Sonics and his Hedgehog representation (representation matters right?) but is unsure of herself. Cream would be a side character, Her mother Vanilla could be simple a baroness that supports the Freedom Fighters giving them shelter and food if needed. Other Freedom Fighters could be Big or they could pull from the IDW comics and add Whisper and Tangle, Jewel could be a city contact and supporter. Starline could be an enemy collaborator maybe the guy the makes the badniks based off of Eggman's designs.

I think they could also just go the Transformers franchise route. There are currently 5 main series films and a spin-off based on Bumblebee. Out of all characters, the first spin off would be for Shadow. Depending on its success, they could have more character movies or just stick to Sonic Movies and character tv shows.

They should take there time. Plan each movie and show. Don’t rush to the next big event or over saturate. Marvel Phase 1 + 2 was gradual. Everyone wants to be peak marvel when starting these things but it takes time.

The problem with future Sonic movies is, who's gonna play Robotnik? I feel like people are underestimating how much star power Jim Carrey has. Tons of people went to see these movies mostly because of Jim Carrey and there's a very big chance that he's not returning. But a Sonic cinematic universe probably won't work without Robotnik. Robotnik is such a huge part of the Sonic universe. So who could replace Jim Carrey? Every movie in history that has tried to replace Jim Carrey with another actor has flopped so far. Could Sonic be an exception?

I think a cinematic universe-lite is something Sega should've been doing a long time ago. As non-fan, the thing that always made Sonic different from Mario is not only the more narrative heavy direction and the characters.All of the characters are memorable(for good or bad) in some way.It's the reason why I think Sega is completely wasting them by not using game spinoffs like they should. it's the perfect way to give characters and parts of worldbuilding focus which would otherwise not make sense in a mainline movie. Characters like Knucles,Blaze,or Silvers since most of time their motivations/backstories mean they very rarely can get involved. It could also help in redefining characters who don't have a purpose anymore after the main movies,like Shadow by giving them new development.So yeah, I think Paramount could make this work if they don't fall into typical Cinematic Universe traps that kill it before it begins. And maybe Sega looks at what Paramount is doing and take the right lessons from it. It also doesn't have to be movies,The DCAU proves that that you can make a connected universe using mostly TV shows.

while it could work since Sonic and his friends have a lot of material to play off of, it's ultimately, for how long before it starts feeling repetitive or how will they adapt things such as Chaos, Solaris, Dark Gaia, and Infinite without breaking it's own world, theoretical, they could just use Team Sonic and Team Dark, and possibly Team Chaotix for the movies since they're action oriented and the Watoschi family could fill the roles of Amy and Cream, TV wise, that's where they could fit in characters like Amy, Cream, and Big since they'll have more freedom there, so possibly, but challenging, for many reasons or do like back in the day with different adaptations like DiC did, just sayin'

Now that I really think about it, since the Sonic Movies are technically western made, if they ever introduce Sally Acorn and the Freedom Fighters in this universe, my hype would over the freakin roof. The potential her character could bring to this universe of Sonic: Amazing story telling and writing, her badass moments, her romantic relationship with Sonic, her relationship with Tails, and her friendships with Sonic’s other friends including Amy (No, they do NOT hate each other or fight for Sonic, they are solid close friends with each other, so to certain fans who think otherwise, just shush, just shut up😆). My point is, when you introduce characters that are fan-favorites in the franchise, but never really appeared in the mainline games into this universe by Paramount, the possibilities for ideas and potential of amazing stories and solid writing is ENDLESS. (Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you, Tangle & Whisper.) I can honestly see this universe do things that the MCU never could do and do things that are truly special for Sonic fans, newcomers, and even non-sonic fans.😊👍 This universe can truly achieve things that were never thought possible for this franchise, and make itself way better than the games it was originally based on. Paramount, Jeff Fowler, all the Sonic movie crew, whatever you guys have planned (especially starting with Sonic Movie 3), I’m all on board for whatever you have in store for us. And I’m very excited to see whatever is coming!😁

Great concepts! A movie based on the Chaotix would be interesting. Also I think it depends on the type of Tails in my opinion. The Early 2000s version of him could definitely work but the modern version of him is a big no.

This is all amazing. However, I woul have to correct you on Eggman or Robotnic. It was mentioned in the first movie that he was an orphan so there is that as a backstory movie all on its own. And knowing Jim Carrie, if they cast a good cast and make it an animated series, it xould be like the three stooges movie but cartoon. Just a random idea that COULD be fleshed out. But I can't think of anything...

Agreed, I can possibly see Silver as being Blaze's Sidekick because of his personality, although Blaze herself was established as being able to accelerate to speeds rivaling Sonic's while wearing heels thanks to her pyrokinesis for thrust. Princess from the Sol Dimension that guards her world's counterpart to the Chaos Emeralds & she has been Burning Blaze more than Silver has been in his Super Form.

5:23 I'm very iffy about time travel or multiverse hoping in the Sonic movie universe. Not everybody liked the time travel plot in Avengers endgame, hell not everyone is on board with the multiverse saga in phase 4 so for the people working on the movies they gotta be very smart about this. Let's also not forget about the X-Men movies which completely ruined it's own timeline. Either they should completely rewrite Silver and Blaze's characters to being average characters, or have their time traveling be completely isolated from Sonic and knuckles' storyline.

These ideas you have sound nice, but Amy shouldn't be with Silver and Blaze, she should be with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles instead since she's supposed to be the fourth main character and main female of the series. Plus, like you said, Amy's not from the future. We can have Marine with Silver and Blaze instead, she really needs a chance to shine as well after all. And would honestly love Solaris to appear as one of the villains, maybe in an endgame scenario with other Sonic characters. Maybe Amy could have her own series with Cream, Big, Rouge, various Chao and Cheese, and other characters she interacts with to help attract females to Sonic as well. And Amy's own series could help Amy be put in a better light alongside her love for Sonic. There's such a nasty bias against Amy that's been persisting for years here in America, and not the rest of the world, that it really needs to be fixed. Hoping Movie Amy can help the main Amy get better rep also.

This is what atleast what I want from the STHCU Another trilogy after Sonic 3, here are the potential plotlines Sonic 4: SA1 or Heroes excluding Team Rose or Chaotix Sonic 5-6: 06 or Unleashed (if 06 is Sonic 5 and Unleashed is Sonic 6 or vise versa, idc) Kill Robotnik off on the end of this trilogy, banish Sonic and his friends from Earth (play it off something like they’re causing more problems then they can fix) and return back to whatever they came from. If theres gonna be another trilogy, and I doubt there will be, have it be a trilogy taking place on Mobius or whatever planet its named. If they’re following a plan of Sonic 7-9 (or maybe even 10), have a robot replacing Robotnik and explain it that Robotnik planned something if he died. Sub-franchises: (most of it follow your ideas anyway) Shadow trilogy Silver TV series or trilogy Chaotix TV series Robotnik Origin Story Adaptations of the Game Gear games (specifically Sonic Chaos and Triple Trouble), Advance games, and Rush games If Fang makes an appearance, give him a series Owls VS Echidnas prequel
