@@Jamlord2061 In Metroid Fusion, we could see her absorb X-parasites that were using various abilities from wildlife, such as speed-booster from Serris. Add to that the Metroid Baby absorbing the Motherbrains ability to use hyperbeam (SM3, Another M) and giving it to Samus. Dark Samus had the ability to reproduce the other hunters abilities (Prime 3). Based on this, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that if Samus encountered anything that can devour/destroy souls (Assuming Metroids "Life-force" is separate from a soul), she would be able to manifest the ability to do so in some way. If it's her from a pre-fusion stage, she'd be in more trouble, but she would still have her power-suit that is supremely adaptable that would be able to integrate all sorts of tech that is able to harm the demons.

Metroid suit samus doesnt need to directly touch anything to absorb its energy. When samus first unlocks the metroid suit, it is completely out of her control and absorbing energy around her unwittingly. It absorbs all the energy from the engines of Raven beaks flying fortress, making it fall from the sky. Once she is on the planet again, she begins accidentally absorbing all the energy from the geo thermal core power system, shutting the control systems down, causing the overload that destroyed the planet. Since argent energy is, well, energy..... Samus might just accidentally eat all of hell.

She didn't absorb anything from the planet when she got there. Her powers are based on a metroid, so she has to use her hand to use the power (similar to a metroid's talon-mouth thing I guess). Crashing a Chozo fortress into the planet probably is what caused the resulting explosion.

@unkindled6410 @unkindled6410 the metroid suit was completely out of control and feral when it first appeared, due to the extreme proximity to chozo mawkin dna, which the story established earlier makes metroids go berserk. and since it was now integrated into chozo power suit technology was draining energy uncontrollably in a way vastly more powerful than actual metroids. Watch the cutscene, it literally shows waves of all the fortresses energy flowing into samus, and then the fortress began to lean and fall as it lost power. Once that samus energy drain fortress bomb made contact with the planets surface, it was over for the planet, the geo thermal power system control mechanisms were drained, ruined and the building pressure started to tear the planet apart. When samus popped out of the wreckage she was lucid again and the suit was no longer going berserk over extreme proximity to mawkin DNA. As evident by her movements and actions being back to the calm precise movements of what was normally shown throughout the game, and not being a screaming berserker. She was no longer draining everything around her while screaming uncontrollably. She fought ravenbeak/Kraid X, and refused to absorb the mawkin DNA X, which would have made her uncontrollable again, she destroyed it instead. She couldn't touch the ship controls, because she still couldn't control *not* absorbing through direct contact, until the quiet robe X gave her more thoha chozo dna, which, earlier in the game, was explained to control metroids, enabling her to control the metroid dna.

My understanding is that the metroid vaccine cured Samus's X infection by making it so that her body eats X parasites (i.e. her new metroid cells attack X cells). In the opening cutscene of Metroid Fusion, it shows the initial X infection in Samus's body disappearing after she got the metroid vaccine. My interpretation of her regaining her abilities through absorbing X parasites is that it is possibly a similar process to how the Baby Metroid from Super absorbs the Hyper Beam from Mother Brain and gives it to Samus.

Possession/ corruption is up for debate as it would make more sense for hell just to do that to the whole populace, implying there is limitations to it. As for energy, she could Absorb argent energy as for pure. Hell energy that is up for debate as Samuel Hayden implies there needs to be a filter for it.

I'd argue that Samus is actually one of the most dangerous video game characters ever created. When you look at her feats in games, and the planet-cracking level of armaments she has at her disposal by the the endgame in most titles, it really is no wonder why the idea of an enemy with her tech is so bad. The SA-X is one of the most terrifying things ever made in a metroid game. Even Dark Samus holds nothing to that... oh wait, THOSE, since they can multiply asexually. Just imagine that. An army of Samus at peak power, with no morals. Also pointing out: If Samus has all her tech, she has the screw attack, making platforming challenges nonexistent and flying enemies less than an obstacle. EDIT: I was not expecting this much discourse over the SA-X vs Dark Samus being 'the more deadly' nega-Samus clone. The point stands that an Evil Samus is still the most dangerous fucking thing in the universe, no matter what color palette it decides to use.

​​@@Magic_Ice I think the SA-X probably could become just as dangerous. Remeber that the X-parasytes in Fusion were getting more and more intelligent as they adsorbed more creatures. They already started planning, shutting off parts of the space station to try to kill Samus and developing cold abilities to protect from her Metroid DNA. Samus was literally running against time to stop them before they could figure out how to leave the Space Station, ZDR shows us what happens when even a single X manages to infiltrate on a planet. They literally can overtake it in minutes, and even on ZDR the Xs started planning to kill Samus, shutting down the thermal regulation plants.

The only thing that could really be a threat to her is the demonic influence, and some of the god-level Doom enemies. But her arm cannon hurts Chozo Ghosts, and she's resisted multiple forms of corruptive forces before, like phazon, Ing, X parasites. It's a little difficult to say where she'd stand there, but I think she'd be able to deal with it. Consider that although it often involves destroying key systems, she does frequently blow up entire planets.

The weapon platform it was mounted on is what enabled that much power, and unless you're telling me the Slayer is physically lugging an entire space station colony on his back everywhere he goes, no, he is not carrying around a weapon that can singlehandedly blow massive holes into planets. Which means we need to look at the *actual* BFG when making this comparison. The weapon itself can kill entire rooms full of lighter and heavier demons, and can seriously cripple super heavy demons in a single shot. However, ammo is limited and requires a very specific form of energy. You could argue old school Doom's BFG only needs plasma, but it's also demonstrably less powerful for it. The powerbomb is a pocket sized atom bomb in Metroid canon. If the BFG is clearing rooms enemies, the power bombs are outright vaporising the rooms themselves. Compare both of those to the hyper beam, which can obliterate basically anything at rapid speed and operates like a fire hose, giving Samus the same level of destructive power as the power bomb if not higher, but with more precision. The hyper beam tears through basically anything at full power, with the only downside being that Samus needs to absorb a level of energy she almost never has access to in her own universe. So you might think she'd never even get to use it anyway. That is until argent energy gets involved, which is more concentrated than most forms of energy she can usually find anyway, and the Doom universe is absolutely swimming with equipment that can absorb and convert it if we're counting the Maykrs, Sentinels, and even many common demons like the Cyber Mancubi and Tyrants. At that rate, all Samus has to do is incorporate one of them into her suit, and the Metroid suit will do the rest. Suddenly, any demon she stumbles across is a portable energy factory she can siphon for more than enough to give her extended access of the hyper beam. So basically, she's more than capable of tearing through almost everything with her own usual weapons, and the moment she fights her way to a piece of argent equipment she can absorb into her armour, she'd be absolutely unstoppable in the Doom universe, save for the Doom Slayer himself and *maybe* Davoth. But let's be real, when she reaches that level of power, fighting her way and practically *taking* the Divinity the Doom Slayer was freely given is well within the realm of her abilities. She'd go from practically a demigod, to just *actually* a demigod. By that rate, she'd be at the Slayer's power without the suit, because it's not like he actually *needs* his. She'd be no different.

While Samus is overpowered, demons in this video are nerfed. Several points to consider. 1. As we may see from the game, Slayer broke chains holding Titans with one hit. So, no, this is not "Just strong hit". It is the enormous power-super-mega-ultra hit. 2. Some demons literally fight Slayer and are not instakilled by this hit - just to give understanding of their durability. 3. As it was said in lore, weapons of earth could do nothing to greater demons like hellknights. Their skin was impenetrable for bullets, beams and rockets, including mechs we see on ruined Earth. According to Doom game designer, Slayer is not just using human weapons, he literally empowers them with his own will, granting them unimaginable power, able to hurt demons. And he is actually the only human able to do anything with them. 4. There is some kind of mind and soul corruption, which can instantly convert human into possessed even by lower demons like lost souls. Slayer is just the only one, who could not be corrupted. So, taking into account these considerations, Doom could bring much greater challenge to the table. This will make life of Samus harder, but will be enough to make her really struggle? What do you think?

It seems to run on magic willpower principles, samus has to have willpower to even maintain her suit's physical form, as seen in the Zero Mission manga... I do think she would need to vent the Argent Energy, again like on Phaaze, because terminal corruption is still a risk for her. Samus is oddly resistant to corruption, an X infection that would normally take over an animal in an instant was resisted long enough for her to complete a survey, crash into a meteor and surgery long enough to get the metroid vacciine. Most of the time she wasn't even aware there was something to resist. On phaaze even when her mind and body were supposed to no longer be recognizable as Samus Aran by her ship. WHich I assume has similar analytics to her power suit's scan visor, which very often knows things it shouldn't. she still was able to kill that planet, and restore herself. Metroids are also soul eaters, supposedly, as seen by how the space pirates can't identify what they eat in the prime series. She's maybe a tier below Doom guy, maybe a tier above him.

For the punch stuff yes demons are quite durable but the video talked about just the ability for Samus to punch through basic demons which are husks of humans. She'd still be able to do that. For the willpower thing I don't actually know enough about how that works. Is that just a weapon thing or Doomslayer being cracked? Also for the corruption and possession thing Samus has has encounters with possession before like with the whole dark aether and Sharon from Metroid Prime. I'd say she'd be able to resist.

The willpower thing is definitely real for samus, as the powersuit is a manifestation of her will, at least thats what other m implies and the zero mission manga somewhat confirms it when samus's suit disables due to intense distress. Samus resists Phazon and X corruption for longer than an instant which I'd say is extremely impressive, normally animals get taken over in an instant. Fusions intro alone is longer than that, let alone what it describes.

Great video, only thing I would add is how all of Samus’s beams saved for dark and light is they are unlimited. On a side note if we take MP1 lore on mass and size of Zebes it would have 1069 g and Samus has been shown to casually walk and jump 24 feet in the air without her power suit. I'm incredibly late to this video, but I did some math on that neutron star. If we assume that the powerbomb would completely wipe out the crust, and has ONLY enough energy to destroy that, we can find the durability of that by comparing it to the strongest steel I could find which has a yield strength of 160,000 PSI. Multiplying that by 10 billion gets us 1,600,000,000,000,000 PSI yield strength. Converting that to tons of tnt gets us 714,285,714,287 tons of tnt. The strongest nuclear bomb, Tsar Bomba generated 50 megatons of tnt, and it wiped out building with 34 MILES within it's range, which is 2,000 times greater than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That same bomb destroyed 13 square kilometers of land or 8.077825 miles. Multiplying by 2,000 gets us 16,155.65 miles of land destroyed. For reference, that's ~9.59 times the distance from Philadephia to Texas (ignore my interesting example). Taking our number and comparing it to megatons gets us 714,285.71429. 14,285.7142858 times greater than that of Tsar Bomba. Now we can multiply that previous number with this. We round it up once again, so we get ~14,285.71 x 16,155.65, which is ~230,794,930.76 miles of land. AKA it's equivalent to about ~106,889.09 moons. If my math was correct, a power bomb has enough force to destroy our moon over 100,000 times over. All in one bomb. That's kind of crazy.

The short answer is yes. Now sure its game dependent but lets be real, weapons like the wave beam and plasma beam combined are very devistating, in the prime games, the wave buster would see lots of utility for groups. Prime beam powers, that plasma beam has two modes, you either set your enemies on fire, or charge it up, you reduce your foe to atoms. The wave beam, being Electrical has the benefit to have minor homing properties. ice beam? Great, especially combined with missiles.

Probably the most important reason Samus would do pretty well against Doom's demons is that she has pretty much the same ability to absorb power through killing things. Her suit straight up siphons energy from defeated foes very similarly to how Doomguy gets health back for killing things. Coupled with her actual Metroid powers that she gets later, she is probably one of the few characters out of almost any franchise that actually could kill a demon permanently by absorbing their soul's energy to empower herself even further. Since Metroids devour all energy, including the energy of the soul and the demons are all just souped up on a lot of soul energy. So Samus would probably get even stronger the more she fights them that even if she wasn't as powerful as Doomguy at first she could get there by just treating her fights like its XP grinding XD

You can’t block possessions, especially not with a suit, it has to be your will, which not even a god had to withstand the demons. She doesn’t need to absorb energy to get possessed. Depends, the Icon of Sin explicitly has the power to destroy universes given enough time, but it didn't get to that level so you could say Samus can beat it. That being said, there is absolutely nothing Samus can do to Davoth, who not only created the Doom metaverse and, in a very weakened state, transformed the realm of Jekkad into Hell, a dimension unbound by space and time, purely from his anger. Even ignoring the fact that Davoth getting mad would quite literally destroy the Metroid universe and wipe Samus from existence, Samus would never be able to kill Davoth, as Davoth can only be killed by a primeval, and Davoth is only the 3rd strongest being in Doom, let alone the Primordial that is conceptually infinitely above anything in Metroid. This is, of course, assuming you count The Ancient Gods. Tldr, for the base game, quite possibly, for the dlc, no chance in hell

The question isn't, "Could Samus Survive Doom", her armor is adaptive, it can use the tech she finds, assimilate it, and improve on it. She'll be able to fire an even better BFG, and that wall jump will still be just as impressive. No, the question is, "How badly will Samus be corrupted". Once you let the powers of hell in, there's no escape. She might survive, but she'd end up ruling hell, not leaving it.

In every instance she’s used it, there’s been some powerful energy source that she absorbed and consumed or lost after using it. There is a classic doom mod called metroid dreadnought.

Framework for it is already there, already have a double jump and weapon switching, just need to mod in the 4 beam types, could easily translate the beam combos to work as weapon mods. Programming in the Prime lock on shouldn't be too hard either. Also disable glory kils and instead have demons drop regular old health pickups at a regular rate.

Another bit of tech from Samus - the Nova Beam is a high-energy piercing weapon that penetrates organic matter and energy shields. When active alongside her upgraded X-Ray visor, it targets and locks onto enemy weakpoints - notably, brains - to instantly kill many threats, even the Phazon Metroids that are dangerous in the late-game. So while cybernetic demons may have some armour and implant advantages, if we're going full power (short of Metroid Suit) then she takes down nearly everything instantly

It only cuts through phazonite, which probably dissolved along with all the phazon by the end of Corruption. Still powerful though, but the version of the plasma and wave beams combined can go through any material. Well, except for the golden space pirates and golden torizo, but whatever that armor is made of must be EXCEPTIONALLY rare, otherwise it would appear in more than a couple pirates and one bio-mechanial guardian.

Argent based weapons work against the demons, which UAC had access to with most of their energy weaponry, not to mention other heavy weaponry they had which were similar in nature to the BFG. Problem really was that the demons had no fear, no fatigue, no way to demoralize them, and their numbers grew with each life they took, there were many factors that justify that even if humanity with their weapons could theoretically fight back, and they tried, it ultimately failed, but it wasnt like few fodder demons could easily take down an entire human army or anything like that.

One thing that can be done in Dread and Samus Returns is that Samus has a melee attack. If samus freezes an opponent solid with her ice beam or ice missiles, they are brittle enough that her melee strike will instantly kill the creature or destroy the machine. Nintendo also frequently allows samus to be in morphball form, get swallowed by a creature, and promptly use Bombs to make the creature explode in a particularly gory fation. This is done in as early as Metroid 2 on Gameboy as you can kill the metroid queen by rolling into her mouth and stomach and is used in Prime 1 by killing frog creatures who swallow her, and to get t he Dark Suit in Prime 2, she lets the giant worm creatures swallow her and she promptly blows their guts out with bombs. The main thing is that nintendo doesn't want the blood to be red. Any other color is fine and she's made creatures explode into green and purple goop.

X Parasites and Phazon in general would be a serious problem even for him and Metroids (at least in their iconic hatchling form) wouldn't be good either. He'd do great against the more conventional monsters though and the later stages of the Metroid life cycle.
