It is a social agreement in South Korean community that "you might hate Japanese government depending on your political view, but do not evaluate the Japanese people with the politics".

Actually, 2/3 of K-pop's sales are in Japan. That's almost all if you include China and Southeast Asia. Japan used to have a much higher percentage. Since Korean idol groups originally imitated the Japanese entertainment industry, they have a high affinity for the Japanese market, and they sing in Japanese. Remember that Germany after WW1 revoked its obligations and retried expansion only to fail again with tens of millions of deaths in 30 years. @@jh5kl doubt it. india wouldnt be able to contribute much as it would have to fight over the highest mountains in the world then face the largest army in the world on the other side, it might take small pockets near the border while china is distracted but thats about it, going any further is suicide. south korea and japan vs china would be a naval and air war as neither has a land border with china and in the air and water, china can easily defend itself due to its shear overwhelming advantage in the number of platforms. this means china would win a minor victory, it wont be invading Korea or japan anytime soon but can forcibly takes some small islands. if the scope is multi-year long war, china would take a major victory since its population and industry means it can produce new ships/planes for every one that korea and japan makes

Actually Korea has strong ground force, and Japan has strong navy. If Korea attack first, their ground forces and marines will be destroyed in the strait between KOR and JPN. Japan Maritime SDF is one of the strongest naval forces in the region. Meanwhile, if Japan attack first, their ships will be also destroyed in the strait by Korean missiles. Even if some of Japanese forces successfully dock their ship at Korean peninsula, they will be destroyed by overwhelming Korean ground force. In fact, ROK(Republic of Korea) ground forces are as strong as China's north-eastern forces, and South+North combined ground forces are strong as entire Chinese ground forces. Therefore, those who attack first will lose.

For everyone that thinks Dokdo is takeshima, The major causes of the ‘controversy’ of Dokdo is because of historical context. Japan colonized Korea from 1910 to 1945. By that time, Japan formally annexed all the islands and mainland of Korea to their own sovereignty, which included Dokdo as well. When Japan lost in World War 2, Japan needed to relinquish all the countries that Japan invaded for last decades. Korea was one of them. In San Francisco Peace Treaty of 1951, there is no precise sentence of the document stating Dokdo is Korean territory. It simply says Article 2 (a) Japan recognizing the independence of Korea, renounces all right, title and claim to Korea, including the isles of Quelpart, Port Hamilton and Dagelet. As you can see, there is no ‘Dokdo’ in the article. Japan picks this part out and says that since the article never even mentioned Dokdo, there is no reason for them to return the territory. Therefore, it is Japanese territory, according to Japan. However, Dokdo is also a part of ‘Dagelet’ (a.k.a Ullengdo) due to the geographical adjacency and that’s why Dokdo automatically becomes Korean territory as well. Japan is so hysteric about this island because of the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone). EEZ is an area of ocean where is from 200 nautical miles off the coast. Binkov seems to neglect some other aspects of the hypothetical war, such as Japanese nuclear capability and mobilization capability. A certain PM (looking at you, Abe) might use a South Korean invasion as a excuse to turn Japan into a remilitarized state (JSDF is a purely defensive army, that's why it lacks offensive capabilities) by reimplementing the draft, removing Article 13, allocating way more budget to the military, creating offensive weapons, etc.. Japan has enough Plutonium and the know-how to procure nuclear weapons fairly quickly, in a year at most, allowing the Japanese to win in the long run. I can see a Pearl Harbor-esque attack on Tsushima by South Korea, but if SK can't end the war quickly, they may very well be pushed off the islands and forced into a white peace at least by an awakened and angry Japan. TL;DR, in a blitzkrieg SK will win, but Japan will defeat them or force a stalemate with pre-war borders if the war isn't finished fast. Of course, this scenario is incredibly unlikely to occur as, although Japan and SK have their differences, they are still allies, partners, and brothers. Stay safe, all! A real threat to Korea that I did not see addressed here is the possibility of Japanese blockade against Korea for oil imports, which I have to think would have an impact on military operations in a year-long war. (Ditto for blockades of industrial inputs like iron, coal, and copper.)
