As a Wild fan looking to see what other fan bases and knowledgable commenters thought about the trade, this was great content. Definitely a gamble by the Wild that they will be getting out of the 1st round this year and that they can improve his skating.

CBJ fan here. First, I hope he works out for you. The big problem is that Jiricek thinks he's NHL ready, and two different GMs and three different coaches believe he is not. His mental attitude was a big problem. He thinks he's a finished product, and therefore doesn't need to put in the hard work necessary to be a D1. And Evason, as you probably know, puts a premium on fast, mobile defensemen. Just giving you the view from the Blue Jackets perspective.

No. Rutherford won't be fleeced. Plus, Jiricec isn't ready to be a top 6 D and we need somebody who comes in right away and munches minutes.

All of the picks will be in the late portion of each round. They bridge him after next year and hopefully he becomes their #2 RHD long term when Spurgeon hangs it up. It's a good gamble for the Wild given what they had in the system already.

Although I thought Branstromm has potential, why is he on ice during overtime. He conveniently gave away puck within seconds of getting on ice. Tocc should sit him and Hogie. Jiricek is no better than B-strom.

I mean he’s a good puck mover because we don’t have hronek anymore so we needed him. I feel like he does to much at times because he was almost out the league and has to prove he’s better than people think he is. So he can do too much when it isn’t the best time to attack.

A right side of Hronek, Willander and Jiricek doesn't make sense long term. We need a LHD that can play the right side this year. That we can lock up long term. As far as our draft capital, we need to start developing some skilled centers, because Miller isn't getting any younger.

I think we are under estimating the defensive core we have...if teams think they can under bid our players or ask the whole barn, they can kick rocks. When we're in the playoffs and everyone healthy, we will have roster so deep that teams will be wishing they didn't have to face us. If they are able to maintain their play right now with Hronek, Miller and Demko out, we will have enough to make a deep run. BTW, anybody noticed how good the A looked on Boeser?

Canucks have playing some hot garbage non playoff teams so far. They definitely need another top 3 d-man. I’m worried that Hughes might be injured soon due to over playing

​@stroshow5 yeah, good point, but that's really on Tocchet on over playing Hughes. That same thought crossed my mind with Lankinen and how Tocchet uses Silovs with teams he doesn't have a chance with. If he had done that correctly from the start, Silovs wouldn't be where he's at right now. I would have switched pairings on the blue line sooner as well. It's only now that he's forced to do so with Hronek out. I'm not liking how he's treating Hoglander as well to the point of devaluing him as a trade asset. He needs to find ways in maximizing what we have. Easier said than done, but benching players don't show that he's trying to do so hence players overworked.

Myers is not the problem, far from it. The fact you would rather have ian “stay the f out of the blue plaint” cole over myers is absurd. Last year myers clinched the nashville series with his dick and balls. while ian cole scored 4 goals for the oilers. 4 own goals in 7 games is ridiculous. no one is that unlucky. so therefore…COLE STINKS
