I mean there is no point of forcing player back with calf strain. I think everyone has learned that the hard way.
@Jackson54321
@Jackson54321 Ай бұрын
He has a right soleus strain, which the usual timeline is from game 1 of the Semis to game 1 of the ECF. Celtics shouldn’t have to force him back and hopefully they use him as motivation for something to have an identity about. Atleast until he returns.

@hunterx5niper461 It’s not THAT serious man. It’s a tough break the Celtics got but it only temporary. The Celtics don’t need him to beat the Cavs/Magic and truthfully they don’t really need him vs the Knicks either. The Sixers would be more concerning but Embiid is on one leg and the Sixers are deeply flawed. They truthfully only need him for the Finals.

Brad traded KP for Miami's zone defense. After this series the Cs can rest him until ECF or depends on who they matchup with.
@felipeb.9321
@felipeb.9321 Ай бұрын
The KP trade was done to bust the Heat zone tactics, which have given the Celtics some headaches in recent years. Given how that matchup is going right now, they can rest KP for the 2-3 weeks it usually takes to resolve this injury. Cs fans just have to hope it isn't a really bad strain, like Giannis has. As for distributing KP's skillset, offense and rim protection can be covered by a mixture of more minutes for D. White (best blocking guard in 2024), Tilman and Kornet, with the Jays getting more shots up on offense. None of that seems difficult against what's left of the Heat, or for the next round. The ECF could be more problematic if we assume Knicks make it, they're really good at offensive rebounding. Cs are gonna need to maximize rim protection.

Celtics coaches and training staff carefully monitored the minutes of their key players for most of the '23-24 season so that inevitable physical issues were kept to a minimum. Good fortune combined w/ this management had a loaded Celtics team at full strength entering the postseason. Porzingis' injury has likely torpedoed a prime opportuity for Boston to finally grasp title #18 after a gut-wrenching, extremely winnable '22 Finals loss to the Warriors.
