I think reviewing older clubs like from the early 2000's or so that we all can pick up on Ebay for $50-$75 that were great in its time that we forgot about that can work almost just as good! We need a time machine review!!!!! Callaway Warbirds! None of us are spending $400 on fairway woods.

If ur willing to spend 50-75 more, you can get used clubs from early 2010s. Massive improvements from early 2000s to early 2010s. Whereas the clubs from early 2010s are very similar in quality and performance to what we have today.

I finally gave up on the three wood, now just use a five wood and a hybrid. Here's a trick I did: I lengthened the five wood (a Ping G425) and took some weight off of the clubhead, delofted slightly to 17 degrees (will go to 16) and play it a bit closer to a four wood. Works for me....

Funny, I have a similar situation going on. Also a G425max 5wood, also delofted (16°) but I opted for a 1" shorter and 15g heavier shaft and switched the 10g with a 16g in the head to get it back to around D2. Feeling really confident with it and it goes loong when I catch it just right.

Most people who review clubs on KZbin should be taken with a grain of salt. Outside of just showing us how pretty the club is, I’m not sure how useful most of these reviews are. AskGolfNut shows drop off from toe, heel, low, and high, shows sweet spot patterns, varying club head speeds, etc. His presentation is a bit dry at times, but his information is much more useful imo.

I have struggled with the 3 wood as much has you have haha I found my dream 3 wood on accident... I reluctantly bought a Qi10 Max 3w secondhand just to try (knowing its glued at 16 with a really light shaft) when it arrived it was a Fitting Club with an adjustable hosel! I bought a low spin HZRDUS Gen 4 shaft and cranked it down to 14.25 and that thing is a ROCKET LAUNCHER! super easy to hit too!

The X model is draw biased and their 5 woods have had that shallow face for a few generations. I love my Paradym X 5W with a HZRDUS Smoke RDX shaft.

for some reason i just feel the entire Elyte line up looks like a budget set up to me like the warbird line of woods and drivers. something about the lackluster headcover, the big E graphic at the bottom of the club the bunch of chrome on the rescue. it just doesn't look like a flagship model and looks a bit inferior Infront of the AI Smoke which honestly looked great with lovely headcovers too

I think I’m getting the new elyte driver this year. Like you, I’m not a huge fan of the head cover. The color scheme doesn’t bug me, but I feel like they missed with the head cover. So, I’ll continue to use an awesome head cover I picked up from Bandon Dunes, which is also a trip you guys should look into making and play those courses. The down side is, you need to schedule a trip like that almost a year in advance

It's funny how Rick is saying 20 yards offline, pin high is a bad result from 270/280. That's better than most tour player stats. I really think with these reviews Rick needs to understand his real expectations and not have the expectations of a top 10 tour pro. Would help provide more useful information to the viewer no matter what you're reviewing, if a clubs helping that's great to know. Also when you switch between you hate it and love it multiple times on the same club or say "I shut the face" then say that's not good enough from a club, no matter what you hit it would have gone left. On the positive, it's great you're reviewing these type of products, really helps shine an eye on what's out there.

I really think Rick needs to get fitted into a proper fairway wood shaft, and driver shaft. Then from there, use the same shaft on every review. IMO, over the last 6-7 years, drivers/fairway woods have changed so little. Getting fitted for a shaft makes a bigger difference. Plus it would make reviews from different heads more fair. Using something like a 1k stock shaft from titleist is much better for a lot of people compared to a hzrdus smoke.

This entire Eltye line looks cheap. Looks like a club K-Mart would offer. If a club performs but looks cheap you can certainly bag it. But if a club looks cheap, performs as well as competitors but comes with a huge price tag then why bother. Most 3 woods perform similarly across manufacturers. Why pick the one that looks cheap and costs a fortune?
