Through 25 years of RV/caravan camping I have always (incl wife + 2 kids) used the cassette for both #1 and #2 and TP. Through use of the proper environmentally friendly chemicals and the rumbling of the vehicle, (agitation of contents) everything will come out in a steady stream without much unpleasantness.

Easy solution, just carry an extra cassette in case. On the new little European RV they have a storage space for extra cassettes on the back, but you could put it in a large trash bag just to be careful, and in the exterior storage.

I love the cassette toilet. I learned to separate the liquid from the solid. I drink ALOT of water and it fills up fast. The separation allows longer usage with the cassette before dumping. Then i use the tip of using a spray bottle to spray the toilet on stream instead of using the reserved water. I don't put the paper in it either. The only negative i have with that particular bathroom is that the toilet is plastic. For the cost of that model, it really should have better quality essentials. I would sacrifice having cheaper cabinet handles for a better toilet.
@janhjorth9652 жыл бұрын
For added comfort. Buy a 2nd cassette…that will more than double your time, since you can allow the first one to fill ‘to the brim’, and only play ‘safe’ on every other cassette . Thetford (the manufacturers) even provide neat/discrete carriers that you can use for the storage in your ‘garage area’.
@waynec2962 Жыл бұрын
you should try dumping one of those things with 3 day old poop lol you might reconsider your thought's on cassette toilets lol although the guy from The Fit RV came up with an attachment that fits on the end of the dump tube that easily attaches a sewer hose making life easier to dump at a dumping station 👍

A “homemade” bidet system is a bottle with an angled tip, like what hair stylists use to apply color. My sister told me this tip after we installed a bidet during the great toilet paper shortage of 2020. Her option costs a lot less than our bidet, and she said it works fine.

Having had cassette toilets in campers for almost 20 years here in Europe it is very easy... The best eco environment in the tank you will get doing both no 1 and 2 + paper... then you can add some additive in.... I do not use the chemicals anymore, but use normal clothes washing powder/liquid, that works wonderful and keeps the tank clean too.... Good luck with your new RV life
@LetsTurnItUpWorld2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Berit for the tips. So, you do both 1 and 2 with paper and use clothes washing detergent? Any brand or type work better for you? Thanks again!
@byRosenfeldt2 жыл бұрын
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld oh yes.... I mostly use Ariel 3in1 pods .... or the same brand in Liquid detergent, because I like the "smell"... no 2 and paper is being turned into nothing, and you get lovely bobbles whey your empty 🙂... Hi Dave & Tanya, you two are a well of knowledge on how the dreaded "business procedure" is processed by the RV, as well as the disposal of the said business. What goes in, must come out 🤣This is a crucial part of RV living that people need to be aware of when they travel. It is not like you would find a bathroom around the corner on the road. You two take care now on your return trip and as always, be safe out there! 😀❤🙏

I just found y'alls channel, I subscribed & now I'm binge watching y'all's vids. I think you both are awesome & I gotta ask, Tanya, do you got any brothers that are single? I live just outside of Youngstown, OH. there's not much right around here specifically but Ohio does have a few things that are cool to see but they're near places like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Sandusky, & Columbus. Especially near Columbus there's a huge State Park area called Hocking Hills, that place is a must to go visit. There's so much beauty around that area & things to do. I can make a few suggestions of places around the USA cuz I've done some traveling, which is something I love to do. I'd say make sure you go to Savannah, GA., New Orleans, LA., the Outer Banks of NC., namely Buxton & Cape Hatteras. And believe it or not West Virginia is stocked w/beautiful scenic places as well as Tenn. The Gulf Coast of Florida, Destin & Panama City, those areas were spared from Hurricane Ian. I'll shut up for now, lol, there's a few more places I could mention but I'll leave well enough alone. Be safe out there in your travels & I'm looking forward to seeing y'alls next shared adventure.

We have been considering downsizing from our current 40' Newmar Dutch Star to the Ekko but there's no way I am dealing with a cassette toilet. The first thing I would do is convert it to a composting toilet, specifically the OGO. We are very spoiled with two bathrooms in our coach. Everything gets flushed down. I know the cassettes are limited in the quantity they can hold but I refuse to give up the ability to put toilet paper into the toilet.
