You have all the fencing material. Make a circular cover with a hinge with a turn bolt to keep the baby goats out of it. I know you want them out of the hay, but they do look so cute and silly up there.

Oh my gosh Bear is such a silly dog 😄. I really like how you deal with him. 😂😂😂 And the goats are too funny trying to be near the camera. I had to control my laughter because it's still early in the morning.

Thank you for those words of encouragement. Yes, I have a list a mile long of what I need to do on our new property. I have been focusing on reclaiming pasture. I have a small one that has been cleared, limed, and seeded. Been working on the larger one to get that cleared, and then I have the one across the creek that I need to get fenced so I can let the horses in there. Thankfully, I am having someone build my small barn so I don't need to do the labor on that. But I am planning on build the chicken coop and the goat shelter myself. And right now, I have to get dressed so I can go out and feed the horses (getting some dirty looks, I know it!) and then move on to the next project for today.

Thank you for the inspiration. I'm starting a new little farm and I feel so overwhelmed with all that needs to be done. People who lived here before me trashed the barn and left so much trash. I'm patching everything together with this and that. I don't have a lot of money to put into it. I have chickens and I want to get dairy goats. I really enjoyed what you said about doing a little bit each day. My friend told me how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. LOL. Have a blessed day.

You can give the kids a picnic table or small "jungle gym" to play on. I use horse feeders and it kept the kids out of the bottom feed part so it MAY help keep them off your hay.
@georgesenda1952

Put the circular hay thing against a wall and elevate it on a couple of pallets after you cover it. Take a pallet apart and make a hinged chute for the hay so you don't have to reach up to shovel it or use a tine shovel. And you could build an auto feeder that drops down goat feed in measured amounts so you don't have to keep filling round tubs with goat feed. Maybe get ones with a timer that would dispense it at certain times of the day like they do with cat food feeders.

Go look at the Lucky Ferals channel and see her automatic cat feeder in her back yard. She pours dry cat food in the top and it puts out food in measured amounts at various times. She built the wooden part herself. If you go back far enough or ask her she would tell you what kind of automatic feeder machine she uses.

Could also just cover the top with the same material its made out of, making it able to open and close in some way as well as making it goat proof , then put some material that goats cant eat and has no holes over it to allow the goats to still get on it assuming they still can.

The little ones want to climb and that is only possible on the hay bale. If you make something that they can play on, they will play on it instead of on the hay bale. With a few shelves and barrels you can make a seesaw. From tree trunks you can make a climbing rack if you stack them, you need a large tree, but you have it in the meadow at Big Mac. It cost no money and your hay stay clean.

Make a playground for the kids. That way they have a nice place to play. Heck it can be a dirt pile or some wire rollers(the big wooden ones) you can even use concrete blocks or the 12 or 16" square pads will do both play time as well as good trimming.

Great advise Daniel. When I was younger, I accomplished a lot by using those organized lists that you are talking about. I'm retired now but still have things to do every day. I've gotten behind because I got away from having daily, weekly ...etc. goals. Accomplishing things does give progress to the next goal. For me it now provides peace. Just being able to see the goals accomplished and knowing that I can continue doing the same. It does relieve stress so I can plan for breaks like fishing or hunting. 😊👍

Time and motivation management are really important. Many people overlook the importance of their bodies energy management including sleeping and resting. One of the serious conditions is diabetes. 50% of the patients doesn’t know being already ill. After a high insulin spike comes the big drop and this is when people have no energy to do even simple tasks. Constant fatigue and brain fog are clear indicators for a need for a medical checkup.
